Chapter 4
    "Well then, what are we supposed to do?" I heard Kaitlynn's voice. "Wait until Ume wakes up!" I blinked at Abby's voice and sat up. "What are you arguing about?" I asked, rolling up my sleeping bag on the grass. We'd been in Konoha for 3 days now, and decided since we don't have any money, it'd be best to sleep outside near the training grounds. "BREAKFAST!" They both shouted. I hadn't thought of that. Team 7 had given us some food for the first few days, so I wasn't worried about it...until now. "How about this? We hunt!"I suggested, and they both nodded. I had been looking in my purse for food, but a fairy messenger had told me that I had been using too much, so it would take a few days to stock back up. I got out some kunai and shuriken and divided it so we each got 6 shuriken and 8 kunai. "We meet back here at 6:00," I stated, and sent off west of our camp to look for animals. I was about to go back to camp when I heard a small rustling in the tree leaves, and I saw a squirrel sitting there, eating a nut. It wasn't the biggest squirrel, but it was fair. I aimed my kunai for the eye and threw it swiftly so it didn't have time to run. The creature gave one last 'squeak' and fell to the ground. I took out the kunai and tied the squirrel by the tail to my belt. By the time I was back at camp, I had 4 squirrels, 2 birds, and 1 raccoon. I sat down and put out my catch. Abby set out 8 squirrels, 4 birds, and 3 lizards. Kaitlynn had caught 5 squirrels, 1 bird, and 7 lizards. "Where'd you get all the lizards from?" I asked, gutting a bird. "I guess I'm not as good at shooting, but at chasing things," She answered as she threw out some guts of a squirrel. By 8:00, all of the game was gutted and was roasting on sticks near a fire that I had pulled out of my purse. "Ume, how are you going to repair it THIS time?" Kaitlynn asked, holding up my charred purse. "Don't worry, the coconuts heal it. It'll be fine by tonight," I told her, turning a lizard kabob. "...Riiiight, Ume, right," Kaitlynn replied. I could tell she didn't believe me, but oh well. "RWARR! I WILL KILL DEH WIZARD!" Abby shouted, pulling a raw lizard from the stick and shoving it in her mouth. "ABBY! Don't eat that, it could have diseases!" I said, trying to get the lizard out of her mouth. She chewed and swallowed. "No it couldn't, otherwise I wouldn't have eaten it, durr!" I face-palmed and pulled off a cooked bird and started cutting out portions for us. 'Well, at least we know we can hunt pretty well,' I thought, biting into some squirrel...it tasted like turkey. I ate 3 squirrels and started to clean up the bodies when I felt this weird shock go through me. I looked around, scared, but the only people besides me were Abby and Kaitlynn. I shakily resumed my task and threw the animal corpses into the bushes. "Go!" I turned to Kaitlynn and Abby. "Go where?" I asked, completely confused. Kaitlynn looked at me like I was crazy. "What? Ume, you had too many squirrels, you must be hearing things," She said. 'I hope that's it,' I thought, looking up through the trees to the sapphire sky and creamy clouds. I must have dozed off while looking at the sky, because when I looked at it again, the sun was high up, about 1:00. I looked around, noticing that Kaitlynn and Abby were gone. I instantly felt lonely and abandoned. I got up and walked in circles, telling myself they were fine and would be back soon. A hand on my shoulder made me panic. "Why are you walking in circles, Ume-chan?" I relaxed at the sound of Naruto's voice. "I can't find Abby or Kaitlynn," I answered, turning so I could face him. He smiled and replied, "Don't worry, they heard us training and joined. They said you were sleeping." I mentally slapped myself for being so over-dramatic. "Thanks, Naruto-kun," I said, running towards the clearing. "Ume, you're awake! Good!" I saw Kaitlynn sparring with Sai; his ink drawings were chasing here this way and that, and she had to keep dodging them. "..Where's Sakura?" I asked, walking towards Kakashi, who was-of course-reading Icha-Icha Paradise. He looked up and answered, "She was needed at the infirmary, so she's not going to be at training today." I nodded and looked around, bored. "I'm going to take a walk," I stated. As I was leaving, I heard thumping footsteps behind me. "Ume-chan, wait up!" I smiled at Abby's voice. I turned my head to see Kaitlynn and Abby running to catch up. I grinned mischievously and ran ahead, my only goal to beat them...wherever we were going. It soon turned into a game of tag, and when Kaitlynn tagged me, I stopped to look around. "Uhh, guys...where are we?" I asked, turning and turning to try to find a familiar landmark. "...Actually, I don't know, Ume-chan," Kaitynn replied, darting her eyes this way and that, as if something would attack her at any minute. Abby started running in a random direction, and I struggled to keep up. When she finally stopped, I looked around. "Hey, Abby! You found our camp!" I exclaimed, practically hugging my sleeping bag. I looked at my watch...'CRAP! It's 4:53, we're going to miss our mission assigning!' I thought. I grabbed Abby and Kaitlynn and ran towards the village. When we were in the Hokage's office, it was 5:30, the exact given time. I sighed out of relief and looked to the Hokage. "Tsunade-sama, what's our next mission?" I ask, stepping forward. She rummaged through some papers for a few seconds then replied, "You are to travel to Suna and help the Kazekage. An Akatsuki member has ambushed the village, and they have asked for our help. Unfortunately, all of the other teams are unavailable, so you have been chosen. Here is the Akatsuki member's Bingo Book file," She handed us a piece of paper. "You must be back within a week, or we will send a team to get you, available or not." We nodded and jumped out the windows, landing right at the city walls. "TO SUNA! AWAAAAAAAY!" Abby shouted, and away we were.
