"Toxic Bloodwine: A deep, sophisticated flavour of redcurrant and rum on dark chocolate, with the wild, edgy taste of snake blood wine."
Second on the Flavour of Love series. I defeated the giant roadblock that is Galahad, whee! Before you ask, yes in my crack continuity Galahad looks like a proper vampire. Post-TDP, of course, after Te'ijal and Gyendal made up and are nice to each other again. Because when Te'ijal and Gyendal can actually agree on something and work together, crazy things like this happen.
Now, explanation time!
Name: This time it's probably-botched-German for "Toxic Bloodwine". Why German? Because Galahad looks like Germany from Hetalia
No, just kidding. That's not the reason why, though Galahad DOES look like Germany. In my headcanon, the people of Arishta's Western Isle has German accent. And yes, Rhen has it too. Why? Because the buildings in Clearwater and Sedona remind me of that one Germantown I went to some time ago. Also, Sedona makes loads of cheese. In Swiss, a country famous for cheese, people speak German. Is that a stupid reason? Probably yes. Do I care? No.
Flavour: For this I want a "mature and sophisticated" taste, as their relationship did change over time, and also because vampires and knights normally are portrayed as classy and sophisticated. I chose rum chocolate because of the alcoholic content. It's still a dark chocolate because as good as it gets, it's still not the nicest relationship. The blood wine is there because they're vampires, and because that wine is also rather unpleasant-tasting. Snake blood wine is, after all, literally made with snake blood. Us Chinese people have a history of finding interesting uses of all sorts of weird things.
Wine: This time it means nothing other than to add to the "sophisticated" image I was going for. The idea is that each of the four couples in the series are carrying classic Valentine/romantic gifts. For E/S it was roses, for this it's wine.
Outfit/look: The dresscode I had for the series is that the men wear black suits (the shirt and tie can be of any colour) and the women wear white dresses. HOWEVER, Te'ijal does NOT look good in a white dress. That's why I inverted the dresscode here. Plus, Galahad is a goody-goody paladin. Good is usually symbolized with white, right? The diamond-shaped unidentified object under Te'ijal's collar is a tattoo version of Gyendal's Ravenfoot crest pendant
. Why not wear an actual pendant? Story for another time.
