Smart people, smarter than this fool, say wise things worth repeating. We all have favorite quotes. Some of them guide our lives, some make us laugh, some were written by sources unknown and others are part of the lyrics of a platinum album. One truth for all quotes exists: They exist to be shared with others. So here's a list of some of mine- All related to my tomfoolery.
Wise men write proverbs, fools repeat them.
When we are born we cry, that we are come to this great stage of fools.
-Shakespeare, King Lear
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
-Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) (I've also seen this quote dedicated to Lincoln)
A mother takes twenty years to make a man of her boy, and another woman makes a fool of him in twenty minutes.
A person is a fool to become a writer. His only compensation is absolute freedom.
The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.
And a few on education; which has a lot to do with being a proper fool.
It is easier for a tutor to command than to teach.
Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.
Tell me your favorite quotes; they don't have to be quite as fool related as mine.
