@D_A: on the subject of finding people, there are at least 2 ways I know of in traditional lore. The first is to use a divining set of some kind that identifies their location on a map, the second is to use a seer's instrument (like a crystal ball or something). That aside, they could have just used a contact in a thieves network to find them. Locating them is not out of the question. We all know how Gyendal usually has a thing for kidnapping Mel.
