Subject: Re: Fantasy Book Club by Aeternus on 2008/7/1 1:21:26 Interesting! I'd love to join but I'd probably have to opt out every now and then due to a lack of interest/time/money. I like many of the suggestions given (with the exception of Philip Pullman and Christopher Paolini, but I'll save that rant for another time), with some of them I've already read and enjoyed and some of them being books I've wanted to read. My own suggestions I'd like to throw in: - "The Wind on Fire" trilogy or "The Noble Warriors" trilogy by William Nicholson (12+) - "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel (not really fantasy, either, but a really good story...and it gets fantasy-ish closer to the end) (13+) - "Crown Duel" by Sherwood Smith (10+) - And more of a challenge than anything else: "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" by Haruki Murakami (18+) I could probably come up with more but my book collection isn't here with me so I can't remember them all >_< |
