I'm merely pointing out how there are plenty shades of grey to your black and white statement. Or, to make it even murkier and to show not everything is as black and white as we like it, consider assisted suicide aka euthanasia. A patient is terminally ill and is in horrible pain. There's no way to cure said patient and the patient will die a very painful and slow death. The patient requests euthanasia which the doctor performs. Now, does this doctor deserve death because he ended the patient's life at the patient's own request? |
