Subject: Re: Ending a Black Heart (RxL) by Aveyondstars on 2009/9/30 22:42:08 THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST PART! READ IT! FROGS! hICCUP IS LAUGHING, SHE JUST READ IT AND LIKED IT. HOPE YOU PEOPLE DO TOO! Part 26 That night I felt like a normal sized thing in a giant’s world, lying in my bed. Rhen came into the room to say goodnight and I jumped onto her head, one advantage of being a frog was that I could jump higher. Gretchen came in also. “He’s starting to except it, this isn’t good.” Gretchen mumbled. “Night Lars! Please don’t eat any of the bed bugs. That would be gross you’ll get normal food like us, ok?” Rhen told me, why would I eat a bug! Was that what frogs ate? Eww! All I needed was a tiny crown... I thought as I drifted off to sleep. That night my dreams were full of jumping on Lilly pads and eating things, they were rudely interrupted by sudden gold balls falling in the water and princesses crying. In one dream I was trapped in a kitchen and a cook was sharpening knives, on the counter there was a recipe for frog legs. That night I woke up feeling sick and dry, I hopped out of bed and to a counter there was a bowl of water I had used to wash my face, I jumped in. The cool water made me feel good, the slimy feeling I had gotten use to returned and I started to sing. “Ribbit, crooaakk! Crooaakk...” Lalala singing felt sooooo good, my mind started to muddle up and little froggy thoughts occupied it. I started to hum, and swim around in the water, being a frog was wonderful, lalala. Everything was perfect, everything was fine, just had to look out for people who wanted to cook, kiss, or step on me. I wanted to be a frog forever, lalala... “hummm mhhh hummm de dum hummm” I hummed, I’d never have anyone ordering me around, I could be free, free, free... Lalala... A hand entered the water and grabbed me, “Ccrrooaakk!” I said in alarm It was Gretchen behind her was Rhen. “No! Bad frog... I mean Lars, Lars no don’t swim bad froggy! No swimming!” Gretchen shook her head. “Will he be fine?” Rhen asked. “I’m not sure, usually all human/frogs when entering water forget that they ever were a human. They decide they love being frogs, even if we can save him, his brain might stay thinking like a frog, and he might look slightly greener.” Gretchen paused. “Well let’s bring him to the fireplace. “Whcroak! WwhhCroak!” I tryed saying ‘what’ but it didn’t really work. “Oh dear this isn’t good, he couthd loothse humanth communicathion!” Gretchen words were starting to slur together and I could no longer under stand her, but who cared I was a frog, lalala... I was plunked onto a stool and I blinked for a few seconds, well they didn’t have to be rough with me! A hand came down and patted me on the head, I hopped the other end of the stool trying to get away from the hand. “Ncrrooaakk!” I screamed as the hand grabbed me and set me down back at the middle of the stool. I was picked up and Rhen’s huge face looked straight at me. I was sitting on her palm and I grabbed her thumb peeking over the edge, seeing how far down it was. “Its ok Lars I wont hurt you.” Rhen said in a reassuring voice, but to me it sounded like this ‘iths oohk thlarths eeeee wornnt turth youshh...’ very scary sounding. I glanced around looking for a door or window to jump out of. I blinked, no window, and the door didn’t go straight to outside, they would catch me before I got there. “PleCrooaakk DonCroaak KiCrooaak meeee!” I said covering my eyes with my tiny front toes. Suddenly I felt something warm on the top of my head, Rhen had just kissed me, the frog! She set me down on the stool and I Grabbed my back toes with my front ones rocking back and fourth. Hehehe! She wouldn’t turn me human! Humans were clumsy big, ugly things I lloovveedd being a frog. I got on my back toes and skipped around the stool. I saw a small piece of cloth and tied two ends of it around my neck making myself a cape. I pointed to a little bit of golden paper that Gretchen used for writing on, and then pointed back to my little frog head. Rhen sighed and walked over to it. She cut it with little points and glued the two ends together and set it on the stool. I hopped over to it and placed it on my head, I picked up a little twig on the ground and used it as a scepter. I saw a mirror lying on a table and jumped over to it. Bowing at it looking at my reflection. “Gorgeous! I am!” I said placing my toes on one foot onto the mirror. “Its no good, he’ll be like this forever, I think he has to want to be human again and that’s left him.” Gretchen put her head in her hands and shook her head. “We need to want him to be human again,” Rhen stated. “Is there anything he really wants?” Gretchen asked of course I couldn’t understand any of it ‘cause A. I was doing different thing and watching myself in the mirror and B. Humans were too hard to understand now. “Maybe if he saw his friends again...” Rhen guessed. “Great! How do we get them?” Gretchen brightened up. “That’s the problem, they could be anywhere.” Rhen said. “I’ll ask around town tomorrow. Now you need to watch him all day.” Gretchen pointed to me; I was doing the can-can in the mirror and looking very pleased. “Ok.” Rhen looked worried. “You can run the shop and he can sit on the counter, with his now small froggy brain he could be entertained with that mirror all day, make sure to bring it with you.” She walked over and handed the mirror and me to Rhen. I was then taken to a big room and set on a counter, I stared back at the mirror, and smiled, lalala... Gretchen Gretchen walked through the busy streets of new witch wood looking this way and that; she stopped to speak to her friend Emma. “So what are you up to today?” Emma asked. “Well I turned the green haired one, his name is Lars, into a frog we need to jog his memories so I’m looking for his friends, the blue haired one says that there are two vampires, male and female. The male is suppose to not look like a vampire, and the girl is, and they will be with some others... so if you see them please tell me.” Gretchen walked on looking this way and that. “Flowers, Flowers!” “Poison apples! Get ‘em fresh right here! Poison apples!” The booths were full of different things and everyone looked amazing, but Gretchen wasn’t here to browse, she had something to do. One booth caught her eye, there was a vampire running it, something about black blood or something of the sort, she walked over to it. “May I help you?” The young vampire said, well not young but in vampire age it was young. “Um I was wondering, if you have seen two vampires lately?” She asked, stupid question this one had probably seen hundreds of vampires today! “Uh, yeah... Of course.” He replied looking at her like who are you lady? Crazy!? “Oh dear... she said it was something like neg’al or e’jal or something... oh what was it!” Gretchen raked her brain searching for that name. “Uh, sorry no.” The vampire said. “Oh I have it! Te’ijal!” Gretchen looked hopeful. “Te’ijal! What do you want with her?” The vampire hissed. “Oh! You know her!” Gretchen said in delight. “Yeah, she’s my sister.” The vampire looked frightened, or no that’s the wrong word, but cautious would be better to describe it. “Even better! Where is she?” Gretchen asked. “Why would I tell you?” The vampire said. “I need her help! And fast! You see...” Gretchen said the whole story so fast that no one could understand it. “Woah! Hold up, first my name is Gyendal, and second I don’t know where Te’ijal is right now.” Gretchen’s face fell, she frowned. “But... But...” She managed. “But, I may be able to contact her!” Gyendal said quickly noticing Gretchen’s mood change. Lars I stared at the mirror and thought hard, a new idea popped into my head, I should spin around on the mirror, I would look fabulous like that! I stood up and started spinning, lalala... I spun and spun and then a hand stopped me. “Lars! You about fell off the counter! Bad frog, I mean Human I mean frog, oh what ever you are stay away from the edge!” Rhen scolded, but I didn’t hear her of course, I was thinking about singing, and dancing being a frog was so much fun! I tapped my little toes on the mirror and did a little acting, telling Rhen that I wanted music by pretending to play the fiddle. She sighed and walked over to some sort of magic machine, “What ever you highness wants.” She said and turned the thing on. It started playing music and I pretended to have a dancing partner, holding one hand out in front and heading in one direction then turning around and doing the same the way I had just come, Rhen smiled and sat down. A witch came in the shop and stared at me her mouth falling open. “You’ll catch Crrooaakk flies having your Crooaakk mouth open like that Crooaakk make sure crooaak you save some for cooaakk me.” I told her and she gasped. “What has Gretchen done!?” She said keeping an eye on me, and heading to the counter. “This was a mistake, Can I help you?” Rhen asked the witch. “Uh yes, could you get me some poison root remover?” She asked while watching me make funny faces in the mirror. “What is up with the frog?” She asked. “Um, his little brain is kinda messed up right now, you see he is really a human guy and got turned that way, and he’s loosing it.” Rhen told the lady as she packed a vile into a paper bag. “Thanks the witch said as she set a bad of coins on the table and grabbed her bag, leaving backward so she could look at me. After that more and more witches and vampires came in standing on tiptoe to get a look at me. They didn’t bother me, nothing did, lalala. Gretchen “Come on Te’ijal answer!” Gyendal muttered as he thumped the family amulet absently. “What’s happening?” Gretchen asked looking intently at the amulet. “She should be able to answer! But so far nothing.” He replied. “Wait I hear it! It’s buzzing! Oh here she is!” He said in excitement. “What now!” Te’ijal snapped. Her face appearing on the amulets smooth face. “We have a problem...” He said, stepping aside to reveal Gretchen. “Well what is it! I am busy!” She snarled. “Um... You know Lars?” Gretchen asked. “What! What! Lars! Where is he! Is he ok? Is Rhen there? Is she ok?” Te’ijal’s face brightened as much as a vampress face could. “Um... well they’re ok I guess you could say...” She replied. “What...?” Te’ijal’s face went back to sad. “Well... you see I accidentally turned Lars into something...” Gretchen said with caution. “What! You idiot!” Te’ijal screeched. “Yeah... We think maybe if you and your friends would come Lars might want to be human again...” Gretchen said. “Wait right there! I’m on my way!” Te’ijal’s face disappeared and re appeared with the others behind her. “We are coming through set the amulet on the ground!” She ordered. Gyendal did and as soon as it hit the floor Te’ijal and her group flew from it all landing on their hands and knees or in a heap. Te’ijal was the first up. “Where is he!” and they headed of to Gretchen’s house. Lars I danced in front of the crowd everyone was whispering, who was this marvelous frog? Me, me, me... lalala. The crowed was jostled as some people tried to push threw, how rude! They would have to wait to see me like the others waiting outside. I kept dancing, around and around the mirror. “Move! You fanged and witch hat things! Get out of our way! Move or I’ll bite you!” Te’ijal said, but I didn’t know it was Te’ijal... in fact I was having a hard time even remembering anything... before being this marvelous frog. “Te’ijal!” Rhen shouted and jumped over the counter to hug her friend. “Rhen, Rhen... Its so good to see you.” Te’ijal said hugging Rhen and smoothing her hair. “You too, uh Te’ijal I think there is something you should see...” Rhen said slowly. Te’ijal released Rhen from the hug and stared at her. Gretchen was shooing everyone out of her shop and the group was the only ones left, with Rowan, Gyendal, and Gretchen. “Where’s Lars...?” Elini asked looking nervous. Rhen half smiled and turned to reveal me, she pointed and I stopped dancing. “Hiiiiiii! People! Ooh! Look! Is that a pond I see? Does it be a pond? Does it be?” I hopped up and down in excitement as I looked at a little fountain Gretchen had in her shop. “Ooh a pond! Ooh takes zee there takes zee! Ponds be wonderful! Splishy splashy! Crrooaakk!” I skipped around for good measure. The others mouths fell open and Te’ijal gasped “Lars? Lars! What have you done to him!?” She screeched. |
