@binas: Well, then SAY so. You posting in a general thread without saying it's directed to specifically LOK audience implies that you're telling ALL OF US casual bystanders to watch it.

And ditto Rogue: I don't care. I watch LOK, but I'm not a big fan of it so I don't care. Seriously, this series is stupider than the original run. Only 12 episodes and a terrible rebellion is quelled? Really? REALLY? Too little episodes to make us care about the characters and too short a run for the trouble to be solved realistically. And don't give me that "Avatar powers solves everything" or "It's fantasy and not real life". THAT IS STILL STUPID.

Again, that's what pisses me of with fantasy settings lately. Everything is handwaved with "A wizard did it"; all reasons, logic and rationality is discarded, and the lazy writers think they could justify it with "magic". And in the end, everyone is god-modding sues with limitless powers and/or magic and blah blah blah.

I like LoK but I still like ATLA better. LoK had awkward pacing issues and awkward character development. I mean, one episode, Korra is a tough as nails female lead character, and then the next, she's a love-sick teenage girl. And, I felt the probending games were a cool idea, but in the end, it just distracted from the main plot and for too long.

I'm not saying the series is a total wreck. It's quite good, actually. I'm just saying it could have been much better.

I'm beginning to suspect that the only reason this show ended so fast was because it tanked and was cut short so they had to rush an ending. You know, just like how some manga got cut short due to its unpopularity and had a rushed ending that left too many stuff hanging?

Actually LoK ordered up a season 2 and season 3 is just a rumor.

Well, the first season was definitely very short. I mean the terrorist is presumably dead and issues are pretty much wrapped up? No. I don't care if Amon wound up alive next season. We've been BAM!Revealed so much stuff about him that it's not funny anymore if he were to return. It's lame.

I'm going to be so mad if he does return with a character-derailment bonus ala Gyendal in AV3. When the antagonist of a story is a physical villain, especially when it's ONE "big bad", once you screw up the villain the story's going down so bad.

Amon/Noatak and Tarlokk where confirmed dead in the explosion. So we won't be seeing those two again. We are just gonna have to wait but I DON'T WANT TO!!!

WHICH PROVES THAT THIS THING IS LAME! 12 episodes and a big bad is dead? And now what? Would a new adventure starts up in the next season? Or we're going to go clean up the rest of the minions? That's dumb!

Only Bryke knows. We may get a road trip who knows. ANYTHING can happen now.

There are some people who do manage to squeeze something out. They did it a bunch of times with almost every series and movie ever made.

Whatever. IMO, a fantasy/adventure/action series without Big Bad = fail.

Unless the developers managed to somehow think up of a new Bigger Bad who somehow didn't show up in the previous installment and give a plausible explanation why this new event happened all the sudden.

Well, if you read the theory part of the Wiki, you'll realize that Gosho had actually placed a number of reeeally subtle hints about that one, so it's not really a twist or a sudden development. Although some of those 'hints' are actually a reference to Gundam characters, which most people (who doesn't know anything about Gundam like us) would notice.

@Rogue: THAT is precisely what a "twist" is. While there were indeed subtle hints pointing towards the truth, there's also plenty of dead-obvious red herrings to mislead the general public. A twist without "hints" is not a twist, but a whiplash-tastic nonsense pulled out of thin air.

Anyone know what's going on with Saiuyki? I heard it's back from hiatus but I can't find the new chapters anywhere.

Sanzo and company met the Sharak Sanzo, the keeper of Koten Sutra (the fifth and last Sutra). She is an edgy priest who also likes to carry around a gun.

The LJ comm Saiyuki-Manga is the best place to keep up with the latest updates. Better subscribe there than to go hunting blindly.
