Well, once you join a guild, you can buy items at the General Store, I think.

The General Store is actually intended for use by all forum members, not just guild members. As soon as the bugs are ironed out, it should be available to everyone again.

How to earn gold? I can't find anything to sell, or anyway to sell it. When I go to general store it just brings me back to my profile!!!
 also when I go to my cottage, it says theres a error. HELLLLLLLLLPPPPP!

You earn gold by posting on the forum, except in spam haven. General store is still be tested by the guilded members. When it has all the bugs out it will be opened to the rest of the forum.

Go look at the guild roster. It's not impossible. And the requirement at some point was 10 000 posts (though admittedly, it wasn't the requirement for long, only when the post count couldn't be disabled from Spam Haven).
It'll take about three to six months on average, but it means that it really is worth something.
