Mages are best used to cast offensive spells and not heal. Daniel does a pretty decent job as a healer so Deus' aura wont be of any use. Also another reason to use mages is they cause much more damage than when the same spell is cast by a melee person. Try casting fireball with Myst and then with Jovian and notice the vast difference. And battles with multiple enenies are easily and quickly won by getting your mages to cast spells like fireball, eclipse, waterfall, etc whereas physical attackers concentrate on one guy at a time and stretch the battle. Plus Deus is lower on MAG compared to Myst or Midian

Am I the only one here who uses Darwin and Mai as mages? Mai has ridiculously high MDF and MAG, and Darwin seems to gain MP points almost every time he levels up. =P

I really used to like the aura ability, but I don't think Deus does anywhere as much damage as Darwin and Mai. Plus his aura ability makes me feel like I have to change my formation.

I am playing this game and its good but the hard thing was money. Money seems to come hard in this game though much more easily than Three The Hard Way Down.

Wait till you reach Avalon...its a thief's paradise!! If you have recruited Joe already, make him steal every turn he gets to take care of your money problem. Having a thief with you at all times will get you a lot of expensive magic, precious items and unique gear. Also (soon after getting Joe) don't forget to rob some Goblin Helms & Blue robes on the way back through Mayfall forest. Equip some & sell the rest!

For myself, the way I save money in the beginning is to only upgrade the weapons of Daniel, Ayara, Col. Since my final party is the three plus Rorschach, Angel and Jovian

I have joined the army and I am waiting to get a quest but captain sends me to recruit people every time I get to her. I have everyone except Outsider. Is it necessary to recruit him ..... he asks too much.... is their any way to leave him.

I believe Erin'll give you a quest once you recruited six/seven people? It is a very good idea to hire Outsider because not only does he have a high level of entry, but he's also a battle commander, and you'll be needing his assistance in the Captain's next quest for you.

excalibur, I don't know if you have been bothering to upgrade the CRITICAL part of your party's weapons, but foregoing critical hit upgrades can help you save money. Another thing would be to upgrade your weapons only to one level lower than the current maximum for the blacksmith you have access to. You'll notice that the price difference is pretty steep.

This is also why I like using mages. There's not much of a point in upgrading holy water sprinklers, designer purses or encyclopedias.

XD that is VERY true, whisperingmist XD indeed there's not much point in upgrading them. Take the designer purse for instance. The ATK bonus at lvl 15 is only 99 XD compared to Rock's 271!

I'll pay attention to it.Till now I was upgrading every thing even the mages whose attack at weapon level 4 was only 20(maximum) compared to 50 of rest.

I got A in my first battle but I was not so fortunate later, though it affects whether you get A or B or C, it changes the reward and their is something more

First battle should be an easy A, just remember that your scouts a.k.a. archers can attack two squares forward, so the infantry/cavalry won't be able to counterattack back. For more help on Battles, open the "Help" section in the game menu.

Wars are easy if you don't care for rank Apart from the battle of Grunthall, it doesn't really matter which rank you end up with. The prizes for 'A' ranking battles are little to none, so don't bother about the rest. Getting an A on the Grunthall war is crucial as you'll be able to recruit Paris who is a war commader (you'll get an extra unit) which will make the upcoming wars easier

@mcm1m1: The best tactic for me is to have as many scout and sorcery units as possible and try to stay out of enemy reach which is pretty easy because when you click an enemy unit, you'll see the total attack range. All you have to do is to stay out of range and eventually your enemy's formation will break a bit and you can take out units out without much damage. Eventually it'll come down to your units losing fairly much health as well but you just have to run away with the units who would die from the next attack and finish battles with other units. The game is pretty forgiving with turns (speed) so this way it's possible to get A rank or at least B. And yeah, don't bother about getting A on the rest of the war battles, it's simply not worth the time and effort
