Thought I'd report the following problem.

The New Topic and New Poll buttons show up for IE browsers but they don't show up for the firefox browser.

Oh, I was wondering about that. I want to start a new topic, but I've not been able to find the buttons! I guess I'll have to use ie instead.

EDIT: Also, the edit button isn't available on firefox. Neither is the quote button.

if you desperately need to use one of the buttons that seem to be missing (reply/edit/new topic etc):

1. Highlight the area where the button would be, right click then select "View selection source".
2. Copy the html text of the desired action (e.g. edit.php?forum=#&topic_id=##&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&post_id=###) and paste it on your address bar after http://208.69.127.56/modules/newbb/ (e.g. http://208.69.127.56/modules/newbb/ed ... lat&order=ASC&post_id=###
3. Delete any "amp;" that appears in the address and press enter to go.

Too complicated? Then wait for Amanda to fix the problem ^_^

It is quite a bit more work than I would like to do each time I post, however... so you're right, it's only for times of desperate needs!

Find:
Forum ID (#) & Topic ID (##): In the address bar of the topic thread.
Post ID (###): Hover your mouse over the upper right corner of the desired post (e.g. in dark-archangel's post above, on the upper right is "#5". Hover over that and you will see the link location:

"www.amaranthia.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=1510#forumpost1510"

which means the post ID is 1510.

I just use the post reply box at the bottom...

so the only issues really are edits & new threads.

paralel needs help. she/he just told me on kingdom chat that s/he can't post anywhere because the
button and the
button is missing.. s/he says s/he's logged on, but just can't reply to any posts or make his/her own topics. needs help.

Is he/she using Firefox? If so, tell him/her to use IE until Amanda fixes the problem.

I'm having the same trouble with Firefox too so I switch back to IE. -click here-for some tips that Aislingygaio and the others have posted for Firefox users. And between, Paralel is a he.(if he is the same Paralel from the temporary site)

simplest directions:
for new threads, go into the desired forum then change the "viewforum" in the address bar into "newtopic". (to add poll, just add "op=add&" after "?" and before "forum=#" )

for full replies, go into the desired topic, then change the "viewtopic" in the address bar to "reply".

Thanks, aisling - I had wondered where those buttons were! I'll be glad when it gets fixed for Firefox as well, but for the time being, your directions will really help.

The Online/Offline Face next to the Username on posts doesn't show when using Firefox either.

There are a number of features not available at this time if you use FIrefox. Hopefully, Bryce will get the site fixed to work with Firefox.
