Yup, I've got it taken care of. You'll start with your old level, stats, etc. When you start a new chapter, you'll simply load your save game file from the previous chapter and play. Some quests span chapters, so if you've half completed a side quest in chapter 1, you'll probably be able to finish it in chapter 2. But... if you don't complete a part of a quest in one chapter, the dynamics of the quest may change in the next chapter.

Note: you'll only be able to load a save game file from a previous chapter if you've completed that chapter. As soon as you beat a chapter, your save game file is available for the next chapter of the game.

Hmmm...now this is an interesting twist. The idea is intriguing, but I think I just might like it. New stuff every 3 months...kind of hard to say no to that!!!

I have a couple of questions to help me get this straight. So you are splitting the game into chapters released every 3 months or so. Great! But what I am confused about is, first of all, why would you release it later if it's only the first half of the game? Shouldn't that mean it would come out in May still with Chapter 2 coming out in late June/early July? Just wondering...

Next, are you still planning on AV4 being a continuation of AV3 and AV5 a continuation of that, or will AV3 be like 10 chapters then we move on to AV4 with new characters and another 10 chapters? On a related note, are AV4, AV5, etc. going to be using the same chapter system? Or is this an experiment and you will figure that out on the way?

Thirdly, are all of the characters put into the game in AV3 Chapter 1? Or do we get some later? Are any characters removed along the way (seems like that a chapter system would make this work well, i.e. Stella is there in CH2 then for CH3 you find her on a peach and bunny farm, having left the party for a different kind of life)? Is this top-secret?

And lastly, is CH3 going with your schedule of three months, being released in October (November?)? Or is it another month for that one. Also, how many chapters exactly are you planning for AV3?

Wait... that wasn't my last question paragraph. This is. Is the concept of AV4 and onward irrelevant with this chapter system? As in, with this new system, at the end of AV3, instead of moving on to AV4, you would move to CH11 (theoretically) of some sort of all-encompassing 'Master Aveyond where Te'ijal and Galahad and Mel and Stella and the whole group move on and you go on to theoretical 'Bella'. So that it would really never end? I'm guessing a no on this one... And hoping.

Chapters? CHAPTERS!!!! I got the newsletter explaining the change. We now have to wait until June for aveyond, i'm going to die! lol i guess it's cool that there will be a new chapter every three months but it seems so long! What do you guys think?

Wow... I am not impressed. I see most people find the chapter concept exciting but... It seems like sort of a cash grab to divide the game up and sell the pieces. Sorry, but it does. So... Instead of buying a complete game for say, $25, I'm going to have to buy it in parts that might total, $50, $60? Not cool.

I'm really not impressed with the chapter thing... Especially since you have to pay for them individually. I think she's just chopping the game apart to make more money. Instead of selling us one, completed game for $25ish dollars, she's selling us the installments which will likely total more than that. Cheap move. Not cool.

Amanda said she is selling the chapters for $10 each. So considering the AV 3 is being split into two chapters that is only $20. That's what you would expect to pay for a full game.

Yeah, but then she said something about additional chapters every 3 months... I'm thinking that'll eventually stack up.

Then don't buy them if you think it's too much. In my opinion, $10 for a chapter is well worth it. Especially when other games easily go for $40~60.

I think the chapters might be an off for the game to many people (including me)
But no matter what happens I will never stop playing the Aveyond games.

Don't be a downer, Try to support Amanda in her decision. who know's maybe you may even like how this turned out in the end. Has Amanda ever done anything to make us NOT like her games? not really.

If you won't then don't Amanda well deserves $60 bucks for a game and all the thought she puts into it.

I agree! Amanda's done people a huge favor by creating the Aveyond series. It's one of the only things I'll ask for on my birthday, the next Aveyond game. XD

I'm not raising the prices. I'm splitting up a 20 hour game into two pieces and selling each piece for $10. So as opposed to getting one 20-hour game for $19.99, you will receive two 10-hour games for $20. So, if you think I'm splitting the game for the extra cent, you're wrong.

Now, I think there is confusion on the chapter idea. I suspect you think that I'm going to chop up the current Aveyond 3 game into 10 one-hour chapters. This is not going to happen. If enough people like the first two 10-hour chapters, I will make new 10-hour chapters for you to play. Does this make sense? I have no plans to charge you $30, $40, $100, or $1000 for a traditional 20-hour Aveyond game. You will pay the exact equivalent (minus a cent) that you've always paid for the number of hours you receive in an Aveyond game.

I had to pull the release date out because it takes time to split the game into two chapters and test. Plus, I'm going to add a new scene at the end of the first chapter to give it some closure... the same sort of thing you would have at the end of a Harry Potter novel.

Question 1: Please see the note I left for Enchantress above about why it's going to take longer to release the first part of the game.

Question 2: No, AV4 will no longer be a continuation of AV3. Like AV1, AV2, and AV3, Aveyond 4 will be a stand-alone tale. This will keep the series "in balance".

Question 3: Not all characters will appear in Chapter 1. In each chapter, characters will join the hero party or leave. Some of them may die, some will wander a way for a few chapters and come back super strong. As for Stella, yes, she may retire to peach farm for a chapter or two, but I suspect the greater evil in the world will force her return to her destiny for the good of all. Poor thing. (however, she is much stronger than she believes she is.)

Question 4: I hope to release chapter 3 in October, but as I've never taken this approach before this is only a guesstimate. I *think* that chapters will come quicker to release because we won't have to program the game from the ground up. We will have a solid platform and world to build on.

Question 5: If the chapter system works for Aveyond 3, I will use it with Aveyond 4. But as you guessed, Aveyond 4 will be a different story and at a different time. Maybe 100 years after Aveyond 3? More?

If you have more questions, fire away. I'll do my best to answer them all.

From my understanding, AV3 will be just two chapters for the price of $10 each, so it is no more or less expensive than the other Aveyond games. I believe this is just a test for Amanda. She wants to see what the response is to the chapters rather than one big installment. If the responsive is positive, I think what she means is that she'll be doing this kind of things with her other games. I would ask Amanda to confirm that, though ^^;;
