I don't know for sure, but you can change you resolution and then change it back when your done playing. It wont hurt anything, I do it all the time.

yeah! it also works in here. maybe your doin' something- (things ya' do simultaneously with the computer), that makes some failure

If that method didn't work, you should re-installing the game...

what type of computer do you have? it might be too new

My computer is a 2007 model and the game worked fine. It probably something else. Maybe you should try to re-download the game and install it again and see if that works.

I have a problem with Gaea, too. It says something like ...Load-room:unable to load the roomfile 'intro.crm'
what does this mean?

Gaea Fallen is a lot more touchy than the other games, since it's pretty old.

Try playing with the Compatibility settings of the game.

Right click on the Gaea Fallen exe file and select Properties. Then go to the Compatibility tab and choose Windows98 or Windows95. Also, check the boxes to play the game in 640x480 and 256 colors.

See if that works.

I've downloaded this game from the site but I can't get the game to open properly and start. Is there any software I need for this game in particular that I don't for any of Amanda's other games?

First of all, please give more details about this error. How does the game not open properly? Was there an error screen?

Jayshe, you need to set the compatibility for the game to work on today's computers.

Right-click the desktop icon for the game, then click Properties. Next click the Compatibility tab, and check the compatibility mode box, then choose Windows 95 from the drop-down box, or other Windows versions if that one isn't listed.

You should also probably check the 'Run in 256 colors' box.

If doing those don't work, then try checking various combinations of boxes.

Gaea Fallen is an OLD game, so it requires a little adjustment for it to play on current computers.

I'm going to try that, I'm not sure if it'll work or not.

I also had a problem with the game, I downloaded it and cannot find it on my desktop at all. Then I went to my documents and I extractecd the files and still there is nothing at all. I they will find a way to fix this problem, or give us something in the place of this game, that is at least they can do.

Skydeb, Gaea Fallen is the first game Amanda ever made, long ago. It is so old, it won't run on some newer systems. However, most newer systems CAN run it if my instructions above are followed.

There are no plans to 'fix' the game as Amanda has moved on to much better things. We're sorry if you can't get the game to run, but there are much better games here to play.

@skydeb - There should be nothing wrong with the files, themselves.
When you download the game, you get a ZIP file. Extract the contents of the ZIP file to a location of your choosing. It'll create a Gaea Fallen folder. In the folder, double click on Gaea Fallen.exe to play the game. You do not have to run the install program.

Thank you for the suggestions for running this game. I too could not open it even though I did adjust the compatability tab to 95 windows still didn't work so will play around with the resolution and bits and see how we go.. thank you again
