Admit it. Gyendal needs some precious woman to pull him down from his insanity / further help him out with his evil doings / just for the lulz. But most importantly, it makes the Aveyond Orbs of Magic Series more interesting. So who's the lucky girl? Don't forget that he's currently human, and... might not turn back to a vampire anytime soon. (He might, but I doubt that he will turn back before Te'ijal does.)

So here it is - some random debate. That probably no one might be the least interested in. XD I only wanted to post this because... umm... the "Mysterious *****" has finally been revealed in an extremely anticlimatic fashion, so... yeah.

There's not a single canon possibility at the current moment, despite the number of Gyendal's-girlfriend-wannabes and fanwomen in Ghed'ahre. Anyway, here are my thoughts, and you're free to post yours.

AND NO I'M NOT ADDING BELF AS ONE OF THE CHOICES.

Mel.

Despite all those extremely amusing "I'm taking you home, foolish girl"s and "And when I'm through with you, you'll be worse than dead"s and "She's mine!"s, it's actually pretty easy to see that Gyendal has no apparent interest in Mel whatsover, other than the fact that she's one key to his plans. Not to mention that their personalities clash horribly (but who really knows, hum hum hum Now that I think of it, it's kind of a nice pairing, huh... okok). And Edward x Mel. Forever. And ever. And ever.

Then again, Gyendal's never interested in absolutely anyone. Scratch everything that I've said until now.

Why I'm saying this... Ok, when I most expected it, this convo that I expected didn't happen. But now that I think of it, if this kind of convo ever appeared, it'll be cliched and kind of Aveyond 1-ish. Basically it'll be Gyendal offering Mel eternal life as a vampire, and being his queen or something (Oh I'm sure Mel won't accept that She won't want to be... ehem.... a noble. ). But really, that'll just be cheesy.

And I like popcorn, too. Yay. <- that's why!

Stella

All hail the mysterious *****. I didn't reveal it before GoN came out because I might just slip out that Gyendal and Stella knew each other before. But when I finished the game, what interested me was the fact that their personalities... or rather, their apparent personalities... were complete opposites. In fact, if you just look at their "apparent personalities", both of them seem pretty flat as characters. A typical MUAHAHAHAHAHA POWURRSSS villain (who likes to steal hair ) and a sickening sweet little girl.

... At least that was what I thought at first.

But then, when Stella went all "I'll kill him myself!", it surprised me. Before then, I've always thought Stella as the overly nice, not very interesting young woman. I found her shallow, uninteresting and weak-willed. Admit it - Stella did seem to be very weak (not in the sense of her magic powers, but her own willpower) in the beginning. Not to mention the fact that her magic wasn't the least offensive, and she had no method of direct attack other than to whack people with her staff. But it surprised me when all the hatred within Stella just seemed to burst out, and she seemed like a deeper character to me after that.

That's why I believe that Stella could change Gyendal. And that Gyendal can change Stella in return, too, to be a stronger and more independent female. I never believed in Opposites Attract, and I don't even now. I only believe that two people who complement each other will make a good relationship. Correct me if I'm wrong, since it's not like I've ever been in a relationship before. But Gyendal with all his ambition, and Stella with her peacefulness - it seems as if they could really help each other a lot. And not just that, there's evidence. Gyendal did cause Stella to get more strong willed as seen in the previous paragraph.

It seems a bit like Ulquiorra and Orihime from Bleach. I never really liked Bleach, and in fact I really disliked Orihime in the beginning. Such a useless, weak damsel in distress - and when people save her from the jaws of evil beings, it doesn't help her in becoming a more independent girl. But Ulquiorra isn't the type who would save her, instead would be the type to order her to save herself, as he believes she will. And Ulquiorra, as he isn't human, doesn't possess any feelings whatsover, but he still got curious and asked her what was that feeling that humans feel in their heart, and why he can't see it. And he gets a lot softer around her, too. Even though they're enemies as one's a villain and the other, um, the more 'good force' person, it doesn't change.

But this isn't a Bleach essay, so I should move on. Not to mention that Bleach seriously sickens me these days. I just realized it wasn't edible.

Anyway, one of the main reasons why I like this pairing... fine, I admit it. How fun will it be to watch Stella go yandere on/over (preferably the latter ) Gyendal? Huh? Huh?

... Ok, let me move on.

Lydia

The one full of awesome. ADMIT IT. >D

But Lydia would be more of the type to help him further his plans. Still, I have no objections to this pairing, actually. It will be very amusing to watch. Lydia will be the perfect Lady Macbeth, don't you think? XD But that means this huge risk will end up killing her. Nooooo. :'(

It's surprisingly, the most favorite pairing among the beta testers before LoT and GoN came out. They found this pair very amusing, even though there was absolutely no interaction at all. But the thing is, there's no interaction. Moving on.

NO!!!!! First off, they're siblings (yet, I like RinxLen in a way...), second off, Te'ijal is married and is part of my favorite pairing. (Te'ijalxGalahad- I would say "for eternity", but the stupid Orb of Life had to mess that part up.)

I think that the perfect girl for Gyendal is the librarian of Ghed'are. If i remember correctly, she staked some vampires for asking some random questions. But she isn't fond of Gyendal, so i wouldn't consider her as a random fan girl. She could be a perfect assistant for his evil plans & with both short tempered, we will get to see a lot of fights! I'm not sure who i'll vote for, but i thought i'd share my opinion.

Dang, now that I think about it, all three girls (Stella, Mel and Lydia) can be paired off with Gyendal and still be fanfic bait. Stella for the angst, Mel for the...I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's *something* with a Mel/Gyendal pairing (the dialogue is SO NOT helping XD), while a Lydia pairing will probably produce snarkfest extraordinaire (though the same can be said with the Mel/Gyendal).

But since I'm Mel/Edward, the fabulous vampire lord goes to Stella XD The contrast, the tension, the works - yeaaah, someone write a fanfic! XDD

STELLA! they totally offest each other in a almost cool way, she's the sweetheart and he's um.... not sweetheartish at all. Call me crazy, but I think it would work =)

I was going to make this thread myself, but you beat me to it.

I saw someone (probably kirroha, come to think of it) mention a gyendal pairing in passing and my mind grabbed onto the little hint and ran with it.
And so here are my reasons for supporting Gyendal with each of the four marry-able girls.

Mel

When I was sitting there tryign to solve the extremely important question of who Gyendal should end up with, the first answer I came up with was Mel. Because, well, there's that entire sketchy kidnapping thing going on.

Frankly, though, in my head the Mel pairing rapidly devolves into a platonic relationship at best. a sort of confused respect on Gyendal's part combined with a somewhat devil-may-care attitude from Mel... and she wouldn't have much patience for his evil plans of EVIL although she would sympathize with his more cynical view of mankind.

Essentially, the opportunity to write totally not canon flufff about their time together exists, but a romantic relationship? Nah, just not seeing it.

Mel in my head is an in-game pairing. i.e. during the kidnapping

Stella

I dunno what the OP wrote about this pairing and Stella's ability to change Gyendal etc... In my mind Stella/Gyendal is a dark, twisted, unhealthy yet fascinating pairing. Not at all redemptive, not particularly crackstastic or funny, yet something that I desperately want to draw, the hold Gyendal has on her against her will and to what extent he enjoys playing with and taking advantage of that.

Stella is an in-game (or pre-game...) pairing.

Belf

I have no idea WHY Belf is not in that poll. As a powerful orc with political connections, she's the perfect sort of ally that Gyendal needs- and Gyendal is the perfect sort of guy to help her recover from her Edlessness.
There's three options here- Either Gyendal is the kind of guy who can look past physical appearances and genuinely appreciates her other good points (selfishness, narcissism? -I don't really know Belf well, got kicked outta the castle before talking to her)

Or he genuinely finds orcs attractive.

Or, of course, he's playing along because she's useful. And is possibly slightly unnerved by her repeated amorous advances ahahaha that's what you get for being evil, gyendal.

Belf is a post-game pairing. One of two "break Gyendal out of jail" possibilities.

Lydia

Lydia! The other break Gyendal out of jail possibility! And a post-game pairing.

And this is how it goes.
Lydia sweeps in one day and orders Gyendal be set loose.

Why?
Well, with Ed married, Lydia needs a new shopping boy.

Thus begins Gyendal's new life, towing around bags and bags of clothing which of course HE has to pay for.

In the meantime they fall in cracktacular love. Lydia turns out to be tsundere. Gyendal stops being evil and starts being mildly cranky instead.
