Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to make an announcement. Have you seen your copy of the newspaper? How long was it since we produced a new issue? Actually, the newspaper staff needs your help, and no one can help us but you!

You may have noticed that we have not made any new issues. It is because most of the staff (including the EICs) have become inactive, thus all of our contributions were on hold. Yes, its a bit disappointing to not receive new issues from the newspaper, but that is the truth. This is why right now, I would be searching for volunteers who would like to contribute into this. I do not want to waste this opportunity, and also, I do not want to waste the reputation of the AMN.

Its okay if your primary language is not English. We'll fix all your problems on grammar for you.

Right now, we direly need to occupy the following positions. Please take note that there may be positions added at anytime. All positions crossed out means that its taken by someone.:

EDITOR IN CHIEF!
Responsibilities:

1. Makes and ensures everybody follows the deadlines.
2. May also take part with the Editors' job with proofreading and editing.
3. The EIC would take part as the type editor.
4. Ensures quality of the newspaper is worth reading.
5. Has the last say to conflicts with editing.
6. In general should be someone who is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the newspaper team's overall activities, making sure everyone is doing their part and doing it right and according to work plans (e.g. deadline). The EIC should set and/or make sure that deadlines are set and observed and he/she should set/decide on a time line/work schedule (deadlines) and a theme for an issue if deemed necessary.

8. Story Features(always taking)
Authors wishing to have their stories or poems featured in the paper. Can be anything from a short story to a saga which would be spread over multiple months.

9. Comic Features (always taking)
Artists who wish their comic to be featured in the paper.

10. Personal Ads (2 Per Issue)
People with announcements, wishes, etc who wish for their 'ad' to be in the newspaper.

Taking freelance at all months. After 5 articles or, by request, freelancers will be added to the permanent staff(and therefore be given access to the newspaper staff forum) but not be expected to produce an article every month. -MarianFrae

I'm just wondering, would a literary reviewer (be able to) review stories in the HBT? Because in one of the past issues there was a review for a story in there...

A Literary Reviewer (or a Story/Poem/RP Reviewer) can criticize the entries in either Hungry Boar Tavern or in the Collegium.

Story is an example of a prose.

Just one where the requirement is listed under, although the staff can help the person assigned in the position.

Yay! ^^ Though I will still search for one more, because there were two people who usually takes care of the PDF - Marian and Pap.

Just wondering, are we sure that the staff that is gone is really gone? I guess it probably doesn't really matter, because they can't do their jobs anyways, but it just feels sad... Anyways, can we have more than one job here?

They are still part of the staff, and they can return at any time, including Marian and Chauncey-the two EICs. But since majority of them are gone, it has been decided to recruit once more.

And yes you may apply for one more job, as long as you can handle and do the job.

I have a question here. I'm currently available & can handle one of the jobs, but i know that by the end of this month i won't have enough time to check AM, except maybe once weekly. So should i apply? Or just leave the job for someone who has & will have enough time? Besides, i'm a bit new here, does this make me inelegible?

@heero: imo, go for a freelancing position. That way, you can write whenever you have time. Any article is acceptable.

Since you got time issues, you should follow KTC's advise, or if you would really want to be a reviewer, or anything like that, be sure to be able to do the job assigned to you on time.

Thanks for the advice. Yes! I'd rather be a freelancer. I just have another question. To whom should i PM my articles? & how often is a new copy of the newspaper produced? Is it daily or weekly or monthly? I mean how often should i prepare for a new article?

I believe the paper is monthly, or once every two months.

You don't PM your articles. You will have access to the newspaper forum. There, you will submit your articles. You must be able to submit the article before the deadline.

We will publish the paper every 2 months.

Stardale, is the PDF creator is the small program that is able to convert Word Document into PDF format? If it's correct, I have it (program) too.
