and some religions (the ones with the aztec to be specific) believe the world's ending on Dec. 31, 2012. Yet other cults believed the world would end on 1000, 1800, 2000 and so on.
All rubbish predictions imo.

We can't really trust anything that says the world is ending. We shouldn't hit the panic button until we have solid, scientific proof.
But then again, with mankind abusing Earth so horribly, who knows how long the Earth can last?

I doubt it. We'll probably have to move to the Arctic. We don't really have an underground facility or could build one quickly enough to house the nations of the world - besides, we need somewhere to grow food, etc.

The reason movie producers made 2012 is because they knew fear would sell, they advertised it a lot and then they knew people would come to see it, bringing them lots of money and having people be fearful of the destruction of the world, supposedly said to be in 2012. And now a new movie about the world ending is coming out and I really hope this doesn't become a trend, because before the 2000s everyone was afraid the world would end, or all the technology would come to an end. Seriously, the ONLY THING THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN 2012 IS THAT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WERE IN THESE SCARY WORLD COMING TO AN END MOVIES WILL BE RICHER. Sorry blabbing on and on it's just that I think that's its sick for people to try to make money by scaring people and making everyone panic. ◕‿◕

@trendy: the movie industry makes things that sell. currently, a lot of people blathering/panicking about the end of the world (global warming, war, etc.) and what it means. There's no crime in milking people for what their worth when the time is right, many industries do that all the time. Sides, no one takes hollywood movies for real or there would be a lot more people running around screaming about freddy/jason/pinhead/dude from Saw/etc.

@kuro: impossible. It takes time, money, HECKA resources, commitment and frankly no one's scared enough to do something that extreme. Not to mention you're gonna have to deal with the bureaucracy and we all know how long THAT takes. What with politicians bickering back and forth while nothing gets done except new tax laws and fee raises.
