Aveyond 2 .exe file is showing up as having a trojan variant on ESET. I can't get it to ignore and I have tried restoring the file manually but it doesn't work. I have also sent the file to eset as a false positive.

Just had someone over at Emsisoft check my logs. They confirm that it's the RPG Maker XP that is incorrectly triggering as malware. A-Squared is not the only anti malware that does this, evidently. It is a false positive.

I just got a new computer with Norton from symantec. I had saved Aveyond 1,2, Lord of Twilight and Gates of Night to an external hard drive to transfer them to my new computer. When I tranferred them Ave. 2 exe. was gone. The other 3 games are treated like I never played them. When I opened them I had a choose of a free hour of play,. buying them or using my keys to play them which I no longer have. My saved games from TOL and GON are gone. I don't know if this is from the anti virus or if there is another solutioon to this. Hopefully I don't have to buy them all again and start the games from the beginning.
I changed my antivirus to MacAfee, now it only treats Aveyond2 exe. as a Trojan. Can someone answer why when I try to tranfer my Ave 1 & 2, LoT and GoN saved games to my new computer they are treated like 1 Hr. free games that you either have to buy or have key to open. After purchasing the games and having them installed on my old computer for quite a while I no longer have the keys for any of them. Could someone explain why this might happen.

Even if you transfer over the save files, you still have to install and re-register the games. Your new computer doesn't know you've played the games before.
You have to reinstall the games, re-enter the keys (send an email to admin@amaranthia.com to get your key, if you don't have it, or to whatever site you got the games from), and then you can continue with the saves you brought over.

I have Norton 360 and I was having an issue playing Gates of Night and Lord of Twilight. My son went to play these games on November 21 I believe. He told me that they wern't there. I emailed Shaz and I thought it was resolved or would be resolved shortly as I added it to the allow list, but it kept not working. I could install the files, but not play the games while norton was enabled. I had to disable it to install and play cause if I installed them while norton was enabled I couldn't play the games at all though the computer would say that they were installed. Today though I emailed Shaz again cause still wasn't working and she helped me add the right files to the allow list. The issue has been resolved, but thought I'd post the issue here so it can be worked through and Norton can be notified that these are not viruses. I never had this happen before so I was really surprised when it did. The only logic I can come up with is that well my Norton the definitions got behind and then I finally was able to do a live updates successfully and then after I did it started flagging the games. It's fine now, but it was very annoying to have this go on. By the way Norton was calling Lord of Twilight and Gates of Night a Trojan Horse. Thanks

I just bought a new laptop and I am still having problems with McAfee. It will not let me download Aveyond 2. This is frusterating. I can not play it. It is still showing generic backdoor trojan!qp.

1. avast
2. ? updated today 3. ean's quest 4. 23.12.2009 ...!!! I can't play. Grrr. It seems to delete the .exe and doesn't even let the game make a shortcut to my desktop. Don't know if this is it, as you can see I'm not very computer literate.

Aveyond II .exe is automatically removed when installing by security program which claims a generic backdoor trojan.
McAfee Security Suite provided free with ATT broadband DSL --- just got in Dec. 2009.

1) ESET NOD32
2) 4.0467.0 3) Aveyond 2 4) 04/01/2010 5) Win32/IRCBot trojan It's only the second game, the others (1, 3.1 & 3.2) are all working perfectly! Was finally able to download and install the game but NOD keeps snaffling the aveyond2.exe file. Have submitted the file for analysis to ESET, so fingers crossed!

I've contacted Avast and McAfee to get the game off their threat list. I should hear back from them soon. I think all of these are using the same threat list, so once one of them gets the problem cleared, they all should be fixed.

I'm really surprised Norton still is doing this. We've been reporting it here for over a month now, but they still see many of the Aveyond EXE files as viruses.
I wish they'd get their act together.

Trend Micro let me play the free trial of TLO... I tried to buy the key when my time was up and it blocked the program as trying to change 'Windows Shell Settings,' whatever those are. Now it won't let me open the .exe file at all, saying the program is trying to make unaurthorized changes to my PC. Sucky. Any kind of work-around? I don't want to mess with my Trend Micro settings to prevent /real/ malicious programs from messing around.

You may be able to go in and tell it to allow Aveyond - The Lost Orb.exe as it's a trusted program. This would not allow OTHER programs to interfere with your system.

Hello, I've been coming here for over a year now, but just registered so I can post.
February 16, 2010 New Laptop with free McAfee (With updates on Feb. 8th) might have deleted Aveyond 2 cause the actual game never installed. If some Trojans are using these games to hide in, I don't want to tell it to skip it. I have Norton and was going to install after McAfee ran out, but if Norton is having problems with the other games too, not sure if I want to now. Please let me know if this problem can be fixed without skipping it in the search. For now I'll try the free one from Microsoft, but I have had the least amount of virus problems with Norton and would prefer to switch back as soon as possible. Thank you very much and have a great day ![]()
