Heya! This club is for people interested in animation(A.K.A stuff like photoshop, flash, illustrator and so on!)

You can post neat tips and tricks you found in animation softwares here as well as ask for help in things you want to do in the animation softwares.

Of course, you can post your art work in the collegium and not here but can tell when you've posted a new drawing so that people can view it and comment on it.

I've been on an animation school for 2-3 years, but it was not a computer animation school...

Me! Me!! I'M SO joining in!! I hope I'm not the only AV fan who can actually animate something... I mean, there's a lot of Youtube video memes that I like and I'd love to see AV join the bandwagon. Unfortunately, so far the awesome animators either don't know or don't care about AV... I myself want to make them, but I lack the time and proper skills *sobs*

As for my animations... My friggin current set is animated for goodness sake! Lol. Here's the ones I posted in Collegium. You prabably already saw them, but it won't hurt to display them again:

@matriamat: You're in animation school but you don't do computer animation? So your school teaches traditional animation with celluloid cells and paint like old school Disney animations?

OK... I have a question about animation-
How do you make people blink realistically? *points at her pic* I can't seem to get it right...

i'd like to do animation, but i can barely draw stick figures and not even consistent ones lol.

@matriamat: GAH! I hate photgraphing!! I make digital animations, but I prefer frame by frame animation rather than Flash tween.

If you want the blink to be slower, add more "in-between" frames between the open and closed eyes.

I'm doing animation in correspondence myself.
Have any of you tried to draw on CorelDraw? Its really cool.

I'm pretty sure Photoshop can't do animation since they sell a separate thing for that.
unless they finally caught up w/ the times & added that ability.

Only animations i've made were frame by frame in GIMP, and a little bit of flash player. had a lot of fun w/ the gimp ones but school took the fun out of flash. =P

@wolfie: Photoshop CS3 can do animation now. My current set is animated in Photoshop. Adobe used to have a separate program called Image Ready, but I don't think they have it anymore.

@elemental: ah.. That one was not so bad though. In real life, both top and bottom eyelids moved. The top one goes down, and the bottom one goes up, meeting in the center. Most people just animate the top one going down, like in my sample Saurva icon, and it's fine. It's easier too.

@Daeva_Agas: Ah I see. I haven't used Photoshop much beyond PS7 because I discovered the awesomeness that is GIMP and couldn't use PS free at school any more when I graduated. =P

Anyway, I guess this is where we tutorials & such as well?

How many of you guys have Flash with you? Cause I have some neat flash stuff I'd like to share!

And Photoshop can't do much animation. The best thing for animation is flash.

I found devinart confusing(thats why my cottage is still empty).Please post links of any helpful and user friendly tutorials on devinart.

What kind of tutorials would you like?

I once worked on photoshop.I didn't liked it much.(it takes a lot of time.)Thats why i prefer gimp but flash is really a good choice.


so gimp(any more if there are other than on the official site)and flash.Though i heard flash was difficult.
