After 8 years, it is time for me to buy a new computer. I love these games so much.

Can anyone tell me how to save my last Lost Orb completed game file to a CD so I will be up and running when the next installment comes out? What about my other beloved games, i.e. Ahriman, Aveyond, etc?

I have to get a new computer this week because I am increasingly under virus threat. My system is just too old for modern antivirus software, so time to break down and buy a new system for my own protection.

Ahriman's Prophecy and Aveyond Builds A & B have their save files in the same folder as the game.

All the other games have their save files in %appdata%

just c/p it into the same location on your new comp and you should be fine.

That's Aveyond 1, builds A and B.

Aveyond 1, build C, as well as Aveyond 2 and the three chapters of Aveyond 3 all use %appdata%/gamename.

If you copy it off onto a CD, you MAY need to change them all from Read-Only to allow them to be overwritten once you put them into the correct location on your new computer. It's been ages since I've used CD as backup - I don't know if they got around that issue or if you've still got to do that bit manually.

8 years? That's impressive. I need a new system every 3 years at the most. But I'm a tech junkie.

Thanks all for this good advice, I have had two 'unfortuate incidents' with viruses (fb originated) that shut down the 3-layer antivirus protection and lost all my files on the 2nd one. I had to play all 3 games again because I had not saved my game files to a backup.
