Hmm, what does it deal with, actually?

What do you mean? I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you talking about the guild's overall focus?

I mean, what would Druid be? I guess they are symbol of healing, but that is already taken by the Enchanters.

lol
Isn't that what this is about?: http://www.amaranthia.com/modules/new ... php?topic_id=821&forum=10 There seems to be a little overlap with W&W, since we have some Wiccan members, but the main difference (as I see it) is that Druids focus on preservation, while Warlocks focus on power. (Also, in D&D terms, a Druid's primary alignment is neutral; a Warlock's primary alignment is usually chaotic.) Sorry for answering, Pandaba! I hope it's okay. ![]()

It's allright, lol.
Thanks again. That does interest me. This guild indeed is peculiar...plus I'm kinda bored of this fighting life...Hmm, I got to think about this.

It's no problem, Maren. Thanks for posting that link.
Yes, I tried to explain as much as I could in the outline as to what a Druid is all about. Maren pretty much summed it up nicely. When I first got the idea for this guild, I had Aveyond and D&D in mind and thought it might be something fun to add to the mix. A Druid would fall between an Enchanter and a Warlock, with their primary focus being preservation of the natural world. Their abilities would range from a mix of healing, assist, and attack using natural elements around them rather than using magic like an Enchanter would. While a Druid has a neutral outlook about things, they do not tolerate things that would disrupt the balance and flow of life. Such things would include undeath, unnatural magics, and generally anything that would threaten or harm the flow of life.

No prob. Glad I didn't overstep my bounds.
![]() Speaking of D&D, can your Druids take a wildshape? That could be really fun for titling and RP purposes. ^_^

Normally I'd say yes, but I want to check with Amanda on that just to make sure. I had wanted it to hopefully be more in tune with the Druids from the Aveyond games.

You're so responsible. That sets Druids apart from W&W right there. ![]() I won't nag you, then, but I'll be interested to see what kind of relationship our guilds form with each other. ^_^

Yes it will be interesting
![]() Which also reminds me about some other things that I need to explain about Druids and their 'tolerances' (which depends on the person, really). Generally, Druids are not akin to necromancy as it is often viewed as an inbalance. Death is a part of life's cycle; however undeath is not. Also abnormal creatures such as demons, devils, etc. are generally seen as a threat. I only wanted to make mention of this because I realize there are some W&W people (and maybe even Enchanters, I'm not sure) that may practice these arts. I know it was like this in the Aveyond series, also. That is not to say that a Druid won't completely ostracize themselves from everyone else (some do). It's one of those situations that vary with the person. For example, a Druid might not look too kindly on a Warlock that summons a demon in their presence or in the presence of wildlife.

I guess Druids are just to keep balance within the world. They at such can be either 'good' or 'evil' when times need to...Though always in harmony with nature, seen as a kind of 'ultimate balance' form?

Aveyond006: Yes, exactly
"Good" and "Evil" are always perceived differently, however. Actions may be considered 'good' for some and 'evil' for others.Maren: It's no problem at all. If you have questions, comments, concerns, then don't hesitate to post something ;p

To answer Maren's previous question on shapeshifting:
I've confirmed with Amanda that Druids do not have the shapeshifting ability. In the games (Aveyond), shapshifting is a special type of magic. Usually shapeshifters can cast regular magic, just transform themselves and gain the abilities of the creature that they have turned into. -Amanda However so, Druids have the ability to befriend special animal companions, which each have their own unique abilities. The type of companion a Druid has depends on the person and their calling. Companions can range from wolves, cats, fish, deer, unicorns, bears, etc.

If I'm not mistaken, the druids in Baldur's Gate can only choose to align to "True Neutral" and not any other. I think Neverwinter Nights as well.

I don't know about BG since I never played it, but in NWN, Druids can be any Neutral alignment (Lawful Neutral, Chaotic Neutral, True Neutral, Neutral Evil).

The druids in NWN only need one of their alignments to be neutral; the other can be whatever. (Even though a neutral evil or chaotic neutral druid doesn't make much sense...)
It's better to be true neutral from the start, though, because then it won't matter so much if your alignment accidentally shifts a little. Also, it's called "Druidic True Neutral" in some D&D texts, so it makes more sense for RP, too. ![]() Edit: Sorry, Pandaba! You beat me to it!
