Rhen's not appearing.
Teijal's in full predator mode.
Galahad's running away.

Sounds like fun XD
----------------------

Galahad kept running. He had to escape at all cost. There was no way he would stay with that infernal master. Master?! Monster. Yes, monster was a much more appropriate word. The she devil played tricks on his head, kept making him feel things. Pain, exhaustion, anger, and loyalty? No, that was part of the curse. Galahad kept running, hoping to find some way to freedom. Yes, freedom, that was all he had now. He must reach it.

Run run run, like a scared little cat. Yes, keep running little pet. Keep the fun there. For as soon as you stop or give in, the game is over for you.

Teijal smiled as she casually tracked the half breed down, her 'husband', though only on a piece of irrelevant paper. In actuality, she owned him body and soul. The vampress could command him to do anything she wanted. At her whim, Teijal could make him stab himself or jump into a sea. She wasn't that bored yet.

Still, if he didn't change his tactics soon Teijal will get bored. It was so hard to find decent playthings these days. They all had no imagination or died too fast. Teijal liked strong intelligent toys. It made breaking them all the more fun.

Galahad burst out of the forest and onto a cliff. Where could he go now? He could feel her following him. She was almost here. Cursing Galahad took the only escape there was.

Over a cliff and into the ocean? How interesting. The piggy changed again. Good.

Teijal smirked as she walked back into the forest. This pet was stubborn. Excellent. Most fell to her in the first fifty years or so. This one survived hundred already.

Yes, he'll do for another decade. At least.

Somehow, I'm not surprised. It's okay, Galahad. In my stories, she loves ya.

In her own... unique...way.

@mara/rena: heehee ^_^

got this idea eating in my brain yesterday. decided to see where it would go...

Stella/Mel. No idea where it fits in. cept they're a bit older in my head.

-------------------------

Mel laid on her side with her head supported by one hand and the hand stroking Stella's bare back. Stella was laying on her stomach, resting. The former thief frowned as she felt the raised flesh and long scars where wings once protruded from. Stella shivered but otherwise stayed still.

"What is it like?"

Stella stiffened. She was silent so long that Mel began regretting her question. It was careless, insensitive, and tactless. Edward would scold her for it. The spy in training needed to use her brain more often. Just as Mel was going to retract her question, Stella answered softly in a whisper.

"Pain. Just pain so horrible you welcome the blackness that hits you because your body can't handle it, that level of it."

She turned and pushed herself closer to Mel who held Stella tightly. Stella took a breath before continuing. "The pain left phantoms that still burn. Sometimes, they let me be but other times they torture me with such a force that I can't move."

Mel didn't know what to say so she remained silent, holding the woman close to her. Death would be too kindly to Gyendal. He deserved to be tortured and maimed. When she found him she would- Before her thoughts could turn to more morbid thoughts, Stella shook her head. "Don't Mel. Not here. Not now."

Mel shook herself to get rid of those thoughts. Stella was always able to read her somehow. When questioned, the woman simply smiled and answered "I know you."

The spy felt the other woman pull her on top and went willingly. Mel looked down at Stella who smiled though it didn't reach her eyes. Even though Mel was bad at reading people, she knew what Stella wanted.

Make the pain go away

Before the two became lost in the each other's body, Mel let one final thought drift through her brain. She would find Gyendal.

And she would make him pay.

Evil AU.

bit of a rhen introspective piece since i was trying to come up with a reason why rhen would be evil. here's what came out.
_________________________________________

Rhen stared at what was left of her home. Nature had already taken over the area leaving barely a few bits and pieces. Still, she remembered and that was enough.

This was where they came through, searching for fresh meat. The slave market after all couldn't run without a constant supply.

Her parents tried to make her run with the others. But she, in her foolishness, didn't. Rhen never did find out what happened to the other villagers, probably shipped off to places unknown. She didn't care anymore, not when they will probably look at her with fear and disgust just like everyone else. The warrior was the Oracle's Sword, annihilating anyone who got in her way.

The swordsinger dropped to one knee feeling the grass with her hand. It was too peaceful, too green. This was where a happy farm girl died and a demon created. But there was no visible scar, nothing to mark the occasion. There were only memories locked tightly away inside.

She grabbed a dagger from her boot and stabbed it into the ground. Dark energy exploded from the dagger releasing black fire that eagerly spread to destroy. Rhen stood up watching passively as nature burned.

This was how it should be, a scar burned into the land just like the brands into her flesh. Rhen closed her eyes, listening to the shrieks of animals burning and nature groaning in pain.

Yes, this was what she was, a tool bound to the Oracle. One slavery for another. What was the difference?

The slavers did her a favor by opening her eyes to the world she lived in. They beat into her humiliation, shame and pain, exposing the horrible fiends hidden just beneath the skin.

Rhen opened her eyes.

This was why she served the Oracle. Why should she help monsters hidden under flesh?

Nodding to herself, Rhen walked away from the burning debris leaving the last of her humanity to perish.

It was time to hunt.

@connie: thanks ^_^

Teijal in AV3.
(and I know I did something similar to this earlier but whatever. you'll get the same scenario again cept written differently)

trying to get my muses interested again so no idea how this turned out.

------------------------

I despise being human, being so weak and needy. Everyday I have to eat and dispose of the waste. As a vampire, I never needed to worry about such trivialities. Now I experience them every single day to the utter delight of my pet.

Even he's stronger than me due to being a male.

I cannot even growl properly anymore or watch the night come alive. These pathetic human eyes do little more than tell what color and shape things are and only with light. These eyes are utterly useless in the dark.

I have finally gotten rid of that pesky pet who refuses to leave me alone. He's been excessively happy and seems to think that since I am no longer a vampire I will passively submit to him.

Bah. Stupid as usual.

I smash my fists into a tree releasing all my anger onto it. The pain is a welcoming reminder of how much I hate this body.

I curse those villagers who think they are actually helping me by keeping me away from my brethren. Bastards, all of them.

Suddenly a body pulls me away from the tree with unhuman speed. It throws me to the ground, smirking.

I glare at my attacker. "Where in the nine hells have you been?! Do you know what kind of torture I've been through these past months?"

She shrugs sheepishly. "You know how long our kind take to do things."

Suddenly she straddles me keeping my hands above my head. "You look very tasty."

"Shut up and bite me."

"As you wish."

She lowers her head, fangs out. Just before her fangs pierce my neck, she stills as if asking if I really wanted this.

I will not suffer another moment of this affliction. I tilt my head giving her more access.

Her fangs slice through me and I barely held back my cry of joy.

-------------------------

Ah, it feels so good to be alive. I lean back from the corpse I was feasting on.

My mate watches me with a tiny grin on her face before looking outward to the forest.

Several voices ring around the forests. It seems they are searching for a weak little human.

She looks back at me and raises a brow in mischief.

I return with a wicked little grin of my own.

-------------------

Those villagers won't be forgetting us anytime soon. No, I'm sure they're riding as quickly as they can to get those so called vampire slayers. My little pet was a so angry when I left him dangling from a roof upside down.

He was lucky I didn't do more than that.

My mate and I are going home, back to where the rest of our brethren are.

Let the humans hunt their orbs, I've enough of magic.

Ah how I missed your completely mental writings.
First of all... I love the first one at the top of this page(27). Marvelous.
Secondly, why am I perfectly fine with Tei/Rhen but go "EWW EWW EWW EWW!" At Stella/Mel? Doesn't make sense to me at all.
Evil AU was great as always.
The latest... well, WOOT. Absolutely marvelous, marvelous, marvelous. I just LOVE Tei/Rhen. YOUR Tei/Rhen anyway. I refuse to read anyone else's.

@connie/marian/rhen: thanks ^_^

@marian: lol bout stella and mel. i wonder why XD what about alicia/seriena I wrote a while back? lol.

Good Teijal/Rhen universe.
------------------------------

Teijal was limping, her moves slow. Her inhuman healing abilities were barely functioning after being overworked for so long. Rhen fought with the desperation of a cornered animal running solely on adrenalin. The rest of the group wasn't faring any better as they fought against the demons. So far, they had already lost Marge to the onslaught and yet they still fought.

John was cut down brutally next. Elini released an outraged howl and summoned a giant beast that stole the rest of her mana. The beast growled and tried to save its master by smacking anything its huge paws can hit. But the summoner collapsed to the ground, her head severed from her neck. The creature disappeared in a puff of smoke. Lars fell next, his boyish screams drowned by the demons' laughter. Galahad slammed into a wall impaled by a giant spear. His body convulsed for several seconds before turning into dust.

Teijal and Rhen fought until the demons abruptly stopped. Rhen breathed harshly as she eyed the demons who were just staring at them.

The women snapped their heads up at the sound of loud clapping. The demons parted for Dameon who grinned at them. "A fine job ladies. Congratulations, though this is the end of the road for both of you."

Rhen's eyes opened in shock while Teijal growled.

Dameon laughed at their shocked expressions. "You should see your faces! I'm actually surprised none of you caught on to my little ruse. Don't worry though, you'll be joining your friends shortly. Although..."

He turned his gaze on Rhen who glared at him. "Why don't you join us Rhen? Can you not see? Ahriman is the true king of this realm. He will rule over all. Join us!"

Rhen narrowed her eyes and spat at him. "I rather die here."

Dameon shook his head and shrugged. "Fine. Demons? Kill them. Enjoy hell."

The demons roared their approval and pounced on the two warriors. Teijal and Rhen shared one look before nodding to each other. If they were going to die, they would die on their own terms. Everyone lied to her about the Sword. When She first touched the Sword, she learned the terrible truth of the blade.

Rhen released a scream as she channeled her remaining energies into the Sword of Shadows which began to pulse. The Sword released a groan, finally having a conduit leading outside of its metal prison. It followed the source of the energy until it touched flesh. Rhen collapsed to the ground feeling the Sword spring to life, energy wrapping around her hands and spreading until it covered her body. Power poured from the blade making the demons pause and tremble. They knew of this power, when had they encounter it before? Teijal grabbed the blade and instantly the sword's energy charged into her. Following the path of least resistance, it flowed into the souless vampire rather than than the human.

Teijal's body convulsed with the power but she wouldn't relinquish her hold on the Sword. In an instant it was over. Teijal was no more. There was only the Sword. And it was hungry.

The Sword launched itself at the demons, its hands slashing demons and killing them. The demons' souls coursed into the Sword increasing its power. Hits that would have normally killed a human or a vampire merely glanced off the Sword. It would do exactly what it was made to do. They would all die. The demons screamed in horror and cried out for Ahriman as they ran. They remembered this! This was what defeated them during the first war.

The Sword slammed its fist into a surprised Sun Priest's chest. It laughed, a voice filled with the suffering of thousands of demons. "Enjoy Hell, Druid."

The Sword pulled its fist out of the the Sun Priest dragging the man's soul out of his body. It held the struggling soul up, relishing this moment. Rarely did it catch a Druid's soul. Open its jaw wide, it swallowed the screaming man and licked its lips.

Ahriman materialized in dark blooms of smoke. He narrowed his eyes at the Sword. "You."

The Sword grinned. "Me."

--

Rhen was barely conscious as she watched the two charge at each other. It was suppose to be her who took the blade into herself. Why did Teijal do this?! Why?!

--

History was repeating itself.

Ahriman was losing.

He finally noticed the fallen human and smiled. Ducking under a blow, he dematerialized, teleporting to Rhen's location. Grabbing the human by the neck, Ahriman held her up like a body shield.

The Sword froze and frowned.

"...Put her down."

Ahriman laughed and held the human closer to his body. "You care for this mortal? You've grown soft since we've last fought."

He snarled, "Come near me, and this mortal dies."

The Sword growled and took a step forward. It cared not for collateral damages. If the human was to die, than it would die. As long as Ahriman died. Permanently this time.

Rhen knew how this would end. She closed her eyes accepting her fate.

Tensing, it suddenly ran and rammed its fist through Rhen's body until it grabbed the demon's pulsing heart. Ahriman's eyes opened wide. "Die."

It pulled Ahriman's soul through Rhen making her body shake until it was all over.

Ahriman was dead, his body crumbling into black ash. Rhen's limp body still hung on the Sword's arm.

It callously ripped its arm out of Rhen's body and watched it passively as it fell to the ground. She was barely alive, but not for long.

The Sword looked at it before turning its head to the doorway. Looking at the doorway for a long moment, it shook its head. It didn't belong out there. The Sword bent down and place a hand over Rhen's gaping hole.

"Live."

Suddenly, the power rushed from the Sword into Rhen's body, fixing the damage it dealt. It wrestled the human's soul back into its proper vessel. And when all was done, it quietly retreated back...home where it belonged.

Teijal collapsed, her body shaking violently as the Sword relinquished her body. When she finally got control of her body, she gingerly looked up to Rhen. Seeing the human was very much alive if unconscious, she drop back down, relief flooding her body. The humans may have forgotten the real tale of the Sword, but the vampires and elves remembered. The Sword would have killed Rhen.

After another moment, Teijal got up and gently picked up the human in her arms. She looked around to the bodies and fallen companions. She'll come back for them later. Right now, the vampire needed to tend to the human. Holding the human closer to her, she walked out of the cave.

It was finally over.

-----

Okay, some explanation if the story didn't make sense:
Basically the sword's true power is to take over a human host and use its body to kill demons, absorbing their souls. However, this usually kills a normal human host as, the sword power is too great for any human to contain. This is what happened the first time so that's why Ahriman survived partially. The human died before the sword can fully absorb the soul. The sword, while taking over a human host, will also devour the host's soul to make the transfer easier.

Hence the real reason for Teijal tagging along. A vampire is much more sturdy and is a soulless creature. So the sword would sense this and go for a vampire body instead.

it made sense in my head at the time of writing lol. hope it made sense.

@marian: oo, where's the typo? o.o!

archiving me rose entry now that the festival is over and gone. It's like a prequel to my previous entry (which I'll post in the next post) which is pretty freaky as this was totally unintentional.

-------
I'm about to be impaled by a sword, and I'm laughing. The soldier who's about to end it all pauses and just stares at me like I'm insane. Maybe I am, but at least she's safe. My death for her life seemed like a fair bargain to me. But I'm getting a little too ahead aren't I? Well, I'll start from the beginning. It all started with a small wager.

-------------------------

A Lord and I were to woo a certain lady. He wanted her because she was beautiful and would be a perfect notch in his belt. I wanted her because she had money and class. So we played our cards and woo her, or tried to. The loser would be a slave to the winner for a month.

My first attempt ended in complete disaster and it was a wonder I had any dignity left. He fared no better either. But I was a stubborn fool so I tried again, except much less blatantly. (Dazzling clothes and chocolate does not work. Beware the dogs.)

Slowly, as I kept talking to her, I saw what a fine mind she had. She was nothing like those empty headed bimbos of court and strongly reminded me of a rose I've seen in France. (Beautiful, high class, but one must always be wary of the thorns) I started to stop trying to win her and just be her friend. It was a strange feeling, to just try to be friendly without looking at how I could gain from such an action. My family would definitely not approve if they knew the real reasons of why I continued to see her. They always desired to rise up until they had the throne in their grasps and were truly ruthless. (Scars of their disapproval. Physical and mental. Hidden where none may see.)

But this rose changed me. I was still extremely calculating, but I began to think of things outside of power and class. Things like love, music and other purely irrelevant things. I feared these changes and tried to clamp down on them but they broke free, like weeds. (Always growing, never could stop. Invading every thought and breath.)

Who won the wager, I would never know. A war broke out between my kingdom and another. The Lord had sufficient rank and power to hire a replacement without losing his reputation. I on the other hand, lacked class and was deemed the most expendable by my family so I was ordered to go. If I survived, I would bring much honor to them.

Obediently, I went like the trained puppy I was. Before I left to join the army, my...friend (Is that all we were? On cold nights with winds snapping through our clothes I wondered) gave me a small token. A rose. How appropriate. I smiled at her and stole a quick kiss before running off before I did something stupid again. (Like confessing love? No, I don't love. It's impossible.)

----------------

It's been a year and a half and now its painfully obvious we're losing horribly. We might last a fortnight before the enemies overrun us and the kingdom. I, along with a few others, were ordered to take horses and ride as fast as we could back to warn them. It was a bitter fast ride.

Once finished with my duty, I hesitantly went to visit my friend. She gave me a hug and I nearly collapsed in her arms but I held back. No, it would do no good to fall apart now. We talked briefly before I had to go and help with the evacuation. Before I left, she pulled my head down and kissed me saying she missed our conversations. (Grinning like a fool. Stop that.)

--------------

The generals miscalculated badly. The enemy came in droves, like ants. There was not enough time to get everyone out. I didn't care about anyone other than her. (Where was she? Was she trampled?) She was being held down by the enemy. Roaring, I shoved him off her and stabbed him. (Die you son of a dog) Pulling my blade out, I pulled her up, and ran.

We didn't have enough time to get to the barrier. The soldiers were almost upon us. I needed to stay behind. It was the only way for her to survive. I stood my ground and I screamed at her to run as fast as she could. She at first didn't listen but I yelled at her to go, to be safe. (To live. To be happy. GO!) Finally she turned and ran.

I turned around and faced the attackers. I made sure the soldiers couldn't get around me. They had to get through me to get to her. My mouth turned into a savage grin. (How many could I take down before I die? Let's find out.)

---------

And now I'm here laughing. The soldier lifts his sword high in the air thinking this is the end for me. I quickly grab a hidden dagger from my belt and throw it at his neck. (Bullseye). He gurgles blood before collapsing backwards. I somehow survived this group of soldiers, but there would be more. As quickly as my sliced up body can move, I move. Every muscle is groaning in pain but I keep moving. Just a little further! I keep telling myself but my body is about to give out any second. (Come on, do not betray me now!)

I touch the barrier, breach it, and am inside. (Safety. I made it.) I collapse feeling blood drizzle through my wounds. Someone turns me over and yells for a doctor. I struggle to open my eyes, exhaustion invading my bones. It's her. Hands are trying to fix me. She yells at me not to die on her, not now.

Before I sink into oblivion, I smile.

She is safe.

this is from a year ago for the cherry blossom contest.

-------
Cherry blossoms. I gaze up and watch them flutter away one by one. Soft pink petals floating in the wind. I feel a ghost of a smile taint my lips as I stare at a tiny one flying in the wind. Up and down it went before it disappeared from my sight. I close my eyes and enjoy the whisperings of the trees and the wind.

I never used to appreciate something so simple as watching flowers fall to the ground. Where was the value in watching expendable pieces of a plant finally eliminated? Unconsciously, I feel the jagged scar that slices through my left eye down to my jaw where it festers.

Expendable.

I am an easily replaceable part of a larger machine. Lifeless, unfeeling, a true puppet. I will always follow every one of my commands be it maiming, torture, kill, or kidnap. Harbinger of Death. Monster. Killer. Butcher. The perfect soldier. This is what I am, expendable and always abandoned than repaired. On a forgotten battlefield, I await my termination while looking up into the sky. Cherry blossom trees stand silently ignoring my bleeding defects. Petals crashes down beside me. Frivolous pieces of a plant, an army. Blood stains them. Termination Complete.

My eyes open while the taint of a smile spreads into a full grin. Only you would pounce on me. I bring my hands up to steady your hips from your current perch on top of me as I raise an eyebrow. What are you up to? I stare at you, willing you to give up your secrets. You simply shrug knowing I have no power against you. You grip my wrists and place them over my head while you lean forward. We both know I can easily break out of your grasp but I stay still. I lose myself in your warm eyes until you shift so one hand holds both my wrists. Your free hand caresses scarred flesh before trailing down to my beating organ. You stay there for a moment, just feeling my heartbeat as if to confirm I'm still functional.

You appear out of the falling cherry blossoms....and repair me. You fix my bleeding defects and replace my broken parts. You prove to me I'm not expendable like falling cherry blossoms, that someone actually....cares about me. You bring me out of the cold prison I was so willingly trapped in for so long.

I shift in your grasp until I hover over you. My eyes travel up and down your body, remembering and memorizing your curves. Your eyes widen as you recognize too late my tiny smirk. My fingers move quickly to your vulnerable ticklish areas, swiftly avoiding you're attempts to stop me.

I want to return to my tomb, my prison. I wish you never repaired me. I don't need emotions, I need to stop feeling. You took me in, but now you're killing me. The cherry blossom trees outside mock me by holding their flowers still ignorant of their purpose. Mindless machines to support the queen.

Finally I stop and sink down next to you, smiling while you catch your breath. You smack me on the arm. I barely felt it.

You confront me, trying to determine the problem so you can fix it. But you can't fix it! So stop trying already and let me expire. Please let me go back to my cell where four lifeless walls shield me. You back me into a corner and I react like a cornered animal.

I feel the atmosphere change as you pin me to the ground again. You're still breathing hard, flush. You're eyes are ravenous and you growl.

I kiss you, pouring every single frustration into it. All the pain in my life, all the pain I cause. It's not soft, it's not sweet.

You kiss me. Hard.

You accept everything I throw at you and respond in kind. I couldn't compute.

I pull you closer to me so that barely any room is left between us.
Under silently watching cherry blossom trees, we reaffirm our truth.

Termination Incomplete. Repairs completed. Mission approved. One heart exchanged.

Expendable no longer.

I am yours, and you are mine.

^_^ Well, I no longer remember the typo... and it may have been one of those "either way's correct" thingies. I don't remember that type of thing at 3 am and I see something that's not the grammatically correct I use.

Love this pair. ^_^ Beautiful--both of them.
