FINALLY finished the game! (You don't get much time to play games when you don't have your own computer.) And I have to say that it is the most AWESOME GAME EVER!!!!!! Oh man, I'm kinda overwhelmed that it's finally over.

The puzzles were so much fun, I got all jittery when we went to all those AV1 places with the SAME MUSIC, it was amazing. I got all nostalgic and fluttry. Oh, and the book about Rhen in Clearwater, AWESOME!

Oh man, Te'ijal. She's awesome, awesome, awesome! She and Galahad are the most awesome couple ever! I totally loved their banter and their moments and the twists and . . . everything!

Maybe I'll do a more detailed review when I'm less overwhelmed.

Just completed the final scene of Darkthrop Prophecy, and feel well chuffed that I managed this one without assistance - well just the odd vague hint from the forum

Have thoroughly enjoyed playing this series. Guess I will just have to go back to the beginning and start again; until the next Amaranth series that is!!!!

The game had a heck of a good story in this one. And have no idea, but that cathedral gave me the impression of our lovely AV 1 final dungeon ( screw that place!!!! ) , and her lovable demon,Ahriman.The single missing thing from it were the very lovely Death/Nightmare Angels, and the [Myr] Wyverns. I still wonder how would have been if in the final battle I had to fight a bunch of that monsters. Eeeek! More than murdered,pulverize me, smite me, and all what passes through my mind.

the thing with uma and nox was soooooo unexpected. I literally almost fell out of my chair with shock.

stella's "special trait" was so cute. when she went back to edward and i saw his reaction, i seriously thought he was gonna propose right then and there

and yea, her getting braver. i mean, she was already brave in all of them (once she figured out her previous identity), but in TDP she was a bad bleep heroine

storyline? don't even get me started. best ever. how are you gonna live up to it in the next one? the orbs of magic series had everything. and i do mean EVERYTHING.

Before you read this, take this into thought: I love the Aveyond games to bits, and if I ever met one of the creators I would hug him or her until they suffocated.

another thing: I am an atheist, but i have nothing at all against any religion whatsoever. they have every right to express their beliefs.

While I was playing the most epic game in history, i noticed a very faint underlying theme. i was wondering if anyone else noticed it.

it started when i talked to the oracle (the demon oracle from shadow aveyond). she said something about "killing a demon by dipping a staff of destiny into three flames and having enough power to destroy it." meh. not that much underlying stuff.

then it got weird. when mel got back and edward and party realized how weird she had gotten and went to talk to the oracle, that's when i started to see it.

the oracle said something about "mel being corrupted by the devil...the temptation of power was too great to refuse...she has been tainted and possessed by an evil demon from the demon realm and you must find a stone of goodness to use on her to get her hands off of the accursed item"

she said a bunch more things but i kinda thought to myself from that stuff : is there an underlying theme of Christianity in this game?

first off, i'm an atheist, but i know the stories of the bible and such (gotta be educated).

i guess what i mean is that "temptation and possession by the devil" is just a tiny bit, but it's still there. i guess you can't really help it if you're talking about a demon realm, but still.....

does anyone else agree with me?

The situation in my sig? It's not impossible. All that needs to happen is get Gyendal out of Demon Realm, which obviously IS possible (Mordred herp derp).

Tried to search for topics on either Uma or Nox but kept getting the error message that search topics had to be at least four characters long! Can this be changed, or can all the characters have longer names in future games?! Sorry if this topic has been covered elsewhere!

So, I have finished the game, tried a few different battle strategies, and 3 of the four endings, and loved them all. I decided to go browsing in the forums here to see what all I probably missed during the game and keep getting references to some big secret about Uma and Nox (plus the end screen where Mel mentioning 'never knowing' who or what they were).

Allthe members here have done a REMARKABLY AWESOME job following the spoiler rule I(if only I could get members of my own forums to be so courteous, heh), such that I have not read yet what this big secret is. Though I can probably guess it at this point, can someone please point me in right direction as to where in the game I can learn for myself the story behind Nox and Uma?

Oh snap! I was so anxious to try to the other endings, I did click out of the credits before they finished! I do usually watch them, being an animation lover, I like to see who did what to make a production work. I didn't follow my own rules!

It's not a written rule, but no, we don't allow bashing of Amaranth games in Amaranth's own forum. There shouldn't have to be a written rule about that - it's common sense and decency.

pink - I've just gone through the whole Oracle dialogue, and there's nothing in there at all about a "devil". I thought it might have been "evil" and you misread, but that word is not in the Oracle's dialogue either. What she DOES say is that a demon corrupts Mel's heart, and that Mel and Galahad have been corrupted by the Demon Realm.

You just need to read daeva_agas' threads here and on facebook to confirm that a lot of what you see in Aveyond games is taken from a variety of myths belonging to different cultures (and thus the religions of those cultures), and definitely doesn't stem from Christianity.

Very interesting discussion regarding the potential religious allegory. There are priestesses and a goddess in the game, so on some level religion - of some type - is present. But I view what is presented in the series as a more generic type of theology/mythology/science fantasy/ whathaveyou theme than anything truly based in hardcore or archetype religion per se. Just my own interpretation.

On another note (and because I didn't want to start yet another silly topic tonight and this sort of goes with the end of the Orb series...), while I happily wait for the next Aveyond chapter, what other Amaranth games do you recommend that are similar in style to the Aveyond series? Have really come to enjoy these and appreciate Amaranth, and would like to purchase another game or three while I wait.

I think the whole Oracle progressing into 'the Goddess' is quite an interesting thing. Its never directly claimed that the oracle is a goddess only that she is the being the people think is 'the Goddess'. Actually, in Rhen's Quest, I was watching the interaction of the empress and the Oracle, and I find it interesting because the empress summons her and speaks to her in a way that is respected, but not in a way that one would talk to a goddess. The interactions with the Oracle, the fact that there's no mention of the Oracle being a goddess in the original and a few other things here and there lead me to believe that its more of a point of showing what a power and guidance can get people to build someone up in their heads and culture.

This actually really interests me that Amanda conveyed this so well (intentionally or unintentionally) because its actually really interesting to think about and could be considered a sort of commentary on people as a whole. Basically, I like it

I'm not seeing the chrisitian theme here since christianity = jesus worship essentially. Don't see any of that in AV.

There's a lot of myths/fairy tales involved to be sure though. agas can rant bout the daevas, av2 had "Snow Queen" written all over it, Aladdin's lamp made a cameo, and hello red slippers from Wizard of Oz.

The themes used in Aveyond are the typical fantasy themes, and not Christianity in any form.

Further add, remember in Aveyond 2, that the Oracle said she's the " mother of all things " , so this leaves you to think about it.
