I was sort of fooling around with the idea of a real Spook showing up too That, or a bad Gyendal/Mel ending based on the Spook attraction points. That was such a big waste of attraction points that... that... IT DRIVES ME INSANE!!!

Pfft. Seriously, the attraction points only changed what Mel SAID to Gyendal in TLO's final battle. That's totally not funny at all

yeah, pretty unfair. But since Gyendal is the culprit for being a Spook, so anything about him is lie. Disappointment?

well, mostly in Aveyonds, there're many crack pairings that can be built up with high chance and actually making more sense than the canon one, with AV2 in exception xD

well, let just say that anything good from Spook was dashed with discoveries of his true identity. So it's pretty unfair for Mel who accepted him, be nice and even 'attracting' him, to be betrayed in the end.

@shadowshed: Or like in my case, use that Spook business as yet another "justification" for Gy/Mel shipping. The plan backfired, so to speak, i.e disguising as Spook inadvertently caused him to become creepily attracted/obsessed with Mel (which he's totally pissed off about).

Regardless, that would've been a major disappointment if I hadn't been warned beforehand. I played halfway through, then got spoilers off others that so and so happened. Commence major WTH moment, but I still played anyway to see what exactly went on. I was... halfway expecting that the attraction points would lead to Mel becoming evil and joining Gyendal (mind you, that was BEFORE I started crack-shipping them together), but it didn't happen.

@agas: ? Wasn't Gyendal having a mission to, that made him eager about her? But really, That's quite bothersome since the idea of becoming Spook was coming by stalking Mel to snatch her to activate the so-fragile-orbs ended up failed and he was sent to catch her to death. Why didn't he just pop up to kill Mel's allies so they won't interfere? Didn't he get any lesson about how strong can a leveled group than a mere spy? Geez. And after since, Gy had to find stella(how did he know that she's survived?) to be the hostage.
So the orbs're guite useless, huh? Just killing me for gaining levels and skill, and then everything being reset twice to only ended up as cracked orbs. D:

no turning into devils:
yeah, i think the demon realm wasn't really in use. Wasn't we warned by some ghosts who set the portal that Mel'd be somehow reborn? Even the demonic staff doesn't do anything major to Mel's consciousness.

@shed: I think we're having language issues here because I keep on not understanding you and you seem to be missing my point too

And what you said is not true. Mel DID change, but she herself didn't realize it. The demon realm and staff only affected her personality for the moment, but the staff will continue to corrupt her and turn her more evil. Thing is, we stopped that from happening so we didn't see the staff's effect all that much.

to death" > he had a mission to take Mel for Mothred that would do the prophecy. So he would try his best to catch her, since he must be interested to any role that he might get when the prophecy fulfilled even he'd-... Well, i think i ended up contradicting myself again...

Staff: only personality affection seems too weak, though. Well, i was expecting that Mel will also turned into devil, but the end turns me down. It's all because of that stone, right? Even Mel still struggled over the staff before Stella thrusted the stone(sounds like purifying items). Which means, if Mel's memory also swapped, then she'll have Gyendal to help her and the party would fight the two strongest wizard. Hmmm. Oh, i wonder if Gyendal had been a vampire again?

Staff: Mel's memory is not YET wrecked. She still has her own original memories and is only "corrupted", but if the problem is not solved quickly, she will eventually turn into the demon. So Stella and co are apparently quick enough to get the stone before the demon takes over Mel entirely.

Gyendal: He's in the dungeon, remember? And what made you think Gyendal would help HER beat the party? If anything, he would help the party attack Mel so as to take the staff for himself. Him becoming a vampy again? Um, he sort of has to get out of Demon Realm first.

i was saying that IF that would happen. Gyendal may be thrown to the dungeon first, but if the staff got into her for some while, i think she might changed her mind since he's no longer a vampire(perhaps) and ridiculously strong(i felt it like he's stronger than the Morthed). Of course recruitting for him is better than having pain againts him.
as for Gy's reasoning: well, this is small, but maybe he would like to also obtain his desire(didn't he mention about ruling over the upper world back in the cathedral?), and ended up joining Mel. What makes him so persistent to have Mel using the orb? He must be wanted to do some betraying after the Darkthrop raised. But this would make another question: didn't he do everything to obtain the orbs because he wanted to rule the world himself? I don't understand, though. What relation between those orbs and the prophecy?

The orbs were designed so that they could be used to take over the world.

Gyendal didn't want to rule along with Mel. Gyendal wanted to rule by himself. He needed Mel so he could control the orbs. Remember only a Darkthrop could control the orbs.

Staff: Yes, I know. I wanted to say that, but apparently I forgot. I am aware that here is a possibility of Mel eventually letting Gyendal out and make him be her minion if she did get fully-corrupted.

Back to original topic about events. This is only wonderful for me because my crack-shipping glasses makes me think all sorts of weird things.

Gyendal tried to kidnap Mel at least once in every game. It's funny how when the mysterious note in Shadwood appears Mel just believed it and is TOTALLY not suspicious at all. Sure, the very mysterious and TOTALLY suspicious-looking note that appeared after a monster attack is NOT at all a trick. I know it's Gyendal the moment I saw it. If you ask me, Mel's totally asking to be kidnapped there =_____=

And then the bad guys have turned back into the ye olde "I shall sit on my pretty little arse and do absolutely nothing for months" useless bad guys. Seriously, after Mel is kidnapped the dark disciples try to open the demon portal, right? What is everyone else doing in the meantime? Train Mel magic? Have Mel learn the history of the Darkthrops? Sitting around doing nothing and having parties all day long? What? And more importantly, what is GYENDAL doing? Let's say that it took ALL of the dark disciples to open the demon portal. Gyendal is doing... what?

Between the kidnapping and Stella's group reaching there, I'm very sure at least a WEEK has passed. I know it would a hard thing to program and whatnot, but still And seen from behind my super heavily-tinted crack-shipper glasses? Yeah.

Just finished the game and loved it.. I am looking forward to next Aveyond game they truly are my favorite games to play, I have all of them and play the previous ones from time to time. Always feel very sentimental about them. It is hard to describe the feeling but I am sure that all of you who love these games understand exactly what I mean.
I also hope that the twins will be back in the next game.
Now I have a question....but please don't laugh at me.

I realize that I am going to sound pretty clueless right now...but I have to ask....when you say that Ed/Stella and Mel?LarsVIII is CANON - what does the CANON mean...

@mopiece: yes, i'm aware that Gyendal would only rule alone, and Mel is only to help him activate the orb. But it seems that Gyendal got the information of the orbs from Morthed(or whatever Darkthrop did), so i assuming that they're working together, and Gy ended up betraying everyone. The question is, who's the creator of those orbs?

Kidnapping habit: maybe Mel had gotten used to it. Being captured and all. Plus, seems that she didn't so agree to go to the school so she decided to cut both gyendal and the school.

@Shadowshed: Oh for crying out loud... Gyendal found out about the orbs BY HIMSELF. Mordred WAS the one who made the orbs, which is why only a Darkthrop - his descendant(s) - could activate them. Gyendal found Mordred's old spell books or whatever, I forgot, but it was explained in Lord of Twilight. He did NOT involve Mordred until TDP.

Kidnapping: Getting used to being kidnapped would actually mean that she would be more aware and cautious, which means that she wouldn't be captured THAT easily!! So, as me and my friend said: "She totally WANTS to be kidnapped. Heh heh... not all right"
