I wonder what happened to the Staff of Destiny. I can't remember if Gyendal actually managed to grab it or not. Did he?

And... Why isn't Gyendal dead? Te'ijal's arrows at that point are the "super-special-awesome-epic-arrows-of-doom" given by the Fates. It's apparently strong enough to send Gyendal flying backwards to the portal, so logically it should've killed him since it's so strong and whatnot. It's a friggin arrow of doom!! Unless the arrow didn't send Gyendal flying, but he stepped on the portal while staggering backwards after being hit

As an archer in real life, I think maybe she intentionally picked a blunt point or ball point arrow... more push, less poke... or something like that. Also if it was a traditional recurve bow, then you can change the amount of power behind it just by how far you pull.


He went in kinda fast though... maybe Te'ijal really does know some magic after all hahaha wouldn't that be a fun twist... or she used enchanted arrows (aaaaand my brain is back in Morrowind land again).

I say it's because human Gyendal vs vampire Te'ijal on strength/power is a no-brainer; of course Te'ijal won

@agas: that is precisely what Mordred did. Escape to the demon realm near dead, yet he's alive, so to speak, all these centuries later, so I'd say there's a high chance Gyendal survive just like he did, and would still be surviving for as long as Te'ijal does.

Oh... yeah... Totally forgot about the whole Mordred thing.

I still stand by my opinion that it's also partly because Te'ijal is too nice to kill her brother. If she'd shot him in the head or heart he'd be dead before he fell through the portal.

Still. Where'd the Staff of Destiny go again?

Maybe the Oracle took the staff and hide it, like with the Sword of Shadows.

Can we get back to the subject please, to say what we liked mostly about the story, not make fan fictions/ signature talk/ any other things here please?

No one is that off topic. People are still talking about the game's story. They just have questions related to it.

Well, Te'ijal shot Gyendal is also a wonderful moment for me. He had planned to rule the world for too long (he took 4 games! :]) and still think about it after his (probably) master is killed (he supposed to know that he is nothing compare to the party now!). I think it's nice ending that Te'ijal sent him to think about that thing another hundreds of years.

I don't think it will be hundreds, since he's human now, and he may as well die like 1,2,3 there.

Gah! I ended up imagining about Gyendal being a "priestess" or maybe he'd join the demons to heal wounds and to explore things.
Would the shadow oracle help him? Doesn't she want to spread the devil, so she may help him since he's strong and evil?

Hey, people, you're forgetting something! Mordred is human and he didn't die after he teleported himself to demon realm! He didn't pull an Ahriman and turn into a demon! Gyendal would still be around for hundreds of years. Unless, of course, a demon killed him while we weren't looking.

Shadow Oracle is NOT evil. I think she just helps people regardless their intentions and motives. And her way of helping may or may not be good.

I hate spamming the thread with artwork, but... My favourite "post-TDP what-if scenario": the daevas still lurk around in Demon Realm and they hauled Gyendal to be their minion. And, in true D_A fashion, he ends up looking... more awesome than he probably really is.

Demon-Gyendal have a different eye colour because demon transformation changes physical appearance.

We're talking about Mordred, the mean-looking,hairy,beardy,brown,evil,sorcerer,bas-ahem-! Old respectful man, which came from the Demon realm to take power back... What is this, a second Ahriman in disguise?

Mordred in the demon realm: maybe as Mel did, he survived and making friends*?*, learned all over the places.
Moreover, why didn't he talk to the Shadow Oracle to seek the staff and open the portal himself? What did he do within that AGES of Mel's arrival? He even weak enough, though.

He said he wasn't strong enough to defeat the demon guarding the staff. So technically, he let someone else do the dirrrrrrrrrty job for him. XD

wow, he's too weak. Mel only around 13 in level then.
but, if he really got until that way, why mind to close all the way? Didn't he get the staff that dimmed into the flames too?

Well, it mattered the Staff of Destiny only, anyway. The Orb Staff was to gather power in order for Mel to defeat the demon.

Hmmm.... TDP and TLO are totally knockoffs of previous AV games. Ha. You know, Mordred = AP-verse Ahriman, GyendalSpook = Dameon... Yeah. Except Mordred and Gyendal did their jobs better than Ahriman or Dameon. Seriously, the opening cutscene with Gyendal and the Darklings does NOT make sense when connected to the previous chapters. Why would he call MEL "light-dweller" and say that she would ruin everything. For the last three games he's been trying to USE Mel. And how long has he been working for Mordred ANYWAY? What Mordred said made it seem like it's only recently that they started working together, but he said Gyendal failed him "again"? I don't get this!!!!

Oh, and what Gyendal said about Mel being a light-dweller and will destroy them? Totally reminiscent of what Agas said about Dameon. Seriously? D:<

Anyways. Mordred mentioned something about Shadow Oracle helping/advising him. However, Shadow Oracle is NOT evil. So... Shadow Oracle helps anyone who comes to her regardless their intentions and motivations? *confused*

I still can't remember what happened to that stupid staff (why a damned staff? The series is called "ORBS of Magic" series!!!!) at the end. Gyendal grabbed it and... dropped it the moment he got warped into Demon Realm? Too lazy to replay the game, guh
