@lovinlife: lol, glad you enjoyed them
Always nice to hear ppl trying me stories even though they are different ^__^@connie/rhen/marian: thx ^_^ Couldn't make it for the dragonlord contest, so ended up just posting it here. prompt: citizenship/freedom Teijal was sitting on the roof of a decrepit building in Ghalarah, looking at the animals crawling about in the city. She watched how they scurried through the streets demanding submission from their slaves, how the masters were always weary of rebellion. How was it that the master humans determined the slave humans were lower than them? To Teijal, they all tasted the same no matter the appearances. The fat rich owner was just as scrumptious as the scrawny things working in the kitchen. The vampire shook her head as this was not the time to think of such things. The redhead leaped from the roof, landing onto the ground with a small thud. After checking to make sure her hood was still on, she wandered the streets of the city until she came to a large building with the symbol of a whip on it. Teijal could hear screams echoing from the place which made her narrow her eyes. This was the right place. She entered the door which made a little bell on the door ring. The screams stopped. A large man came into the room bellowing, "I'm not done with your - oh. What can I do for you?" Teijal almost snarled. No, she needed to be sure. "Is your name Rektor Arlik?" "Yeah, that's me." The vampire smiled. ----------------- Rektor awoke to find himself hanging from a rope upside down. His arms were tied behind his back. The room was so dark that he couldn't see anything. "So nice of you to finally join me Rektor." The man cried out when something sliced his back. "I was beginning to think I punched you too hard." The man looked around wildly in the dark, trying to locate his attacker. "Who the hell-" Another slash to the back cut him off. "You do not speak unless commanded to slave." "What! I'm no filthy-" A punch to the stomach interrupted him again making him gasp. "Do not speak until commanded to slave. You may have been a master among humans, but with me, you are nothing more than a fat pig." The words were emphasized with strategic cuts making the man scream. "But, do struggle some more. I would be very disappointed if you broke so easily." --------------- Teijal watched the man scream with a satisfied smirk. She would need to be careful as an easy death was far too kind. The vampire would destroy the slave breaker and in his place will be a feeble docile slave. Perfect justice for her mate. ------------ <.< >.> so I went with freedom to write about. lol.

Got this idea from a fanfic I read.
Blasted writer's block and muses' vacation >_< 4 things that Rhen found out weren't true at all 1. Her mate was a man. Rhen grew up thinking her future mate was going to be a man. Her parents always told her stories that involved a man and a woman and her crushes were males (though she did crush on the traveling merchant's daughter). It was simply expected. Rhen forgets about all her previous fantasies as Teijal emerges from the hot spring. She can only ogle at Teijal's blatantly female body, her eyes roaming curves and skin that she spent most of last night mapping extensively. At Teijal's cocky grin and crooked eyebrow, Rhen hurriedly strips and gets into the water. This is entirely unexpected but as the vampire pressed herself against Rhen, the human isn't going to complain. 2. Her future mate was human. Rhen's whole village was human. Anyone who visited the village was human. Human was the standard that her parents reinforced with stories about humans marrying humans. She had never heard of interspecies relationships, much less a vampire and human pairing. It didn't make any sense at all. And yet, here she is cuddling against a vampire in front of a fireplace. Contrary to popular belief, vampire bodies aren't cold as ice. She can't think of a better way to end the day (well she could, but it involves a softer horizontal surface) and releases a happy sigh. Teijal just holds her a fraction tighter. They make perfect sense. 3. Vampires didn't have a gentle bone in their body. Humans were prey to vampires. Why would a vampire treat a human gently unless it was playing with its food? Rhen smiles at this erroneous assumption as she watches Teijal play with their daughter. No one would believe it if they didn't see it with their own eyes. The vampire has a large grin on her face as she gently tosses the baby up before catching her. Rhen remembers how ferocious the vampire was in battle. Many times Teijal would be blood splattered with a crazy large grin on her face. Rhen mentally shakes her head and walks over to her wife. She wasted enough time as is. 4. Vampires are evil Vampires were mythical monsters, creatures of the night who made disobedient kids listen and cower in fear during foggy nights. In contrast, the heroes were always humans who killed the monster and got the girl. The vampire was evil while the human was good. So how come reality was so different? Rhen looks at the small bloody mangled body and shakes with rage. Teijal watches from a distance away. The sight of so much wasted blood is making her restless. Her human is very angry. The vampire growls causing the people around her to take a step back. But she doesn't notice them. Leaping onto a roof, the vampire prepares herself as she takes a breath. She grimaces when scents from everywhere bombard her. This was why vampires didn't breath if they could. Too many damn scents in the air. Teijal shuts her eyes and focuses. The smell of blood is still fresh in the air. It leaks from the corpse, stains the walls, and covers a living body hiding away. Her eyes snaps open and she grins. The next day, the killer is tied up neatly in the village square. He is a bloody mess and is screaming how he murdered his victims. Teijal smirks at Rhen who tilts her head. "You didn't kill him." Teijal winks at her as she replies, "I have no idea what you're talking about." Rhen shakes her head and turns back to the scene. She knows the man will most likely be killed before his actual trial. In fact, the citizens are already getting stones and rope. Turning around, Rhen heads back to the inn without another word. By the time the authorities arrive, there is only a corpse left and angry civilians. Rhen doesn't feel guilty at all about leaving the human to his fate. Does this make her a bad person? When she voiced this question to Teijal, the vampire looks at her strangely. “I only did this for you Rhen. You wanted him captured so I did.” Rhen hugs the vampire who returns it a second later. The vampire is confused but shrugs it off. She doesn't remember much about being human. Teijal vaguely recalls a lullaby and a puppy, but that was it. Her sire made sure of that. Good..Evil... Teijal doesn't see the point to them. To the ignorant, she will always be the monster lurking in the shadows. They do not matter to her. Rhen does. If killing a murderer is evil, than she would embrace the label as it made Rhen happy.

Yay! You are writing again! Nicely put together, but...grandma is curious: how did the vampire and the human have a baby? Perhaps it was spontaneous reproduction?

lol, yay for writing... or trying to write. This one was a struggle to get my disturbingly ADD-like brain to concentrate enough on typing out a story >_<!
vamp/human baby = some goddess magic going on from one of my earlier stories. Rhen's suppose to get together with either lars/dameon. However since she hooked up with Teijal instead (and pretty much breaking the Oracle's plan), the oracle used magic to get her original plan back on track. Oracle explanation story Rhen/Teijal's reaction when they found out XD (one of these days, i really need to try to put the stories in chronological order lol)

They were right there and still didn't notice her presence. So Teijal continued to hop quietly from one wooden beam to the next. This was why people always needed to look up at the ceiling when they entered a room. The vampire couldn't remember how many times she was able to just simply jump on her prey and broke their neck.
Not that Teijal did it many times as that got boring really fast. Slowly, the woman positioned herself right above them. This had to be timed perfectly so they wouldn't bring their barriers up too soon. Satisfied with her position, she threw the thin sacks of slime down at her prey. "What the -" "You fiend!" Teijal laughed as she quickly jumped down and ran away, feeling magic bolts and sunbeams zip close her. Later that evening, Teijal was on the roof with a large grin on her face. Her plan worked out perfectly. Lars and Dameon wouldn't be getting the smell out any time soon. She felt but didn't react as a not so amused human approached her. "Yes?" She drawled, keeping her eyes on the horizon rather than turn to Rhen. "Why did you do that?" Rhen asked exasperated. She, unlike the vampire, had to breath and the two men stunk a hundred times worst than anything she's ever smelled before. There was no way she could work with them now. Unfortunately, the vampire refused to tell them exactly what the nasty substance was. "Because I was bored. You spend all your time with those two louts so I'm left with nothing to do." "I was trying to improve the school and they were helping. You couldn't go torture Galahad again or do whatever vampires do when they get bored?" "Vampires prank or eat garlic when they get bored. Since we're out of garlic, I went for pranking. Galahad's somewhere in the ocean right now. Don't like water." "In?" "Yes, in. Don't know how he did it and don't want to know. But Rhen, you have to admit it was fun to watch your kind chase them out of the palace. Never seen them run so fast, not even with Ahriman." Rhen shook her head though she was fighting a smile. In retrospect, it was pretty funny to watch two grown men in robes get chased out by the servants, guards, politicians, dogs, and a chicken. Apparently, no one liked their smell and seemed unusually angered at the two. Perhaps it was another side effect that Teijal didn't mention. Fighting a smile, Rhen plop herself next to Teijal and looked up at the sky. "What am I going to do with you?" Teijal gently tugged at the human until Rhen was pressed against her with a head on her shoulder. "Keep me I presume. A vampire under your command does wonders for your reputation." Rhen smacked the other woman. "I don't care about my reputation remember? Otherwise I would have banished vampires from the realm after your kind's antics. Now I'm known as a vampire sympathizer and my subjects don't understand." "That was a one time occurrence Rhen. It was just unfortunate that the day you invited my kind was a... holiday for my clan. Vampires can get drunk just like any other human. Sides, you did make all of them apologize, pay for the mess, as well as do 'community service' as you humans put it. Now that was a pleasure to see blackbird." Rhen laughed remembering the five vampires cower before her when she was in full 'I'm going to rip out your liver and eat your heart' mode as Teijal called it. The vampire meanwhile was looking at her mate with a proud hungry look. They didn't get much sleep later that night. Teijal smiled knowing Rhen wasn't going to kill her this time. "Still. You're not off the hook vampire. Far from it." Rhen shifted until she was over Teijal. She lifted up some handcuffs with a raised brow, her magic seeping from her hands onto the metal making them glow faintly black. Teijal fought her smile but couldn't help it. She loved punishments. --------------------------------------------- no intense drama. simple fluff. yeah.

a romantic fluff that may/may not rot some teeth.
just in time for V day hurrah! now back to my evil lab report ;o; ------------------------------------------- Rhen yawned and placed the scroll down on the desk. The warrior rubbed her eyes feeling as if she had been sitting at her desk for hours. Rhen smiled wryly when she looked outside the window. She had started when the sun had been highest in the sky and now the moon was peeping out behind the clouds. Shaking her head, Rhen leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. If someone had told her she would end up ruling as Queen she would have thought that person was crazy. Her lips quirked into a grin when she felt strong hands massage her shoulders and a voice purred behind her, "You work too hard blackbird. This much tension isn't good for you. Shall I go persuade a few nobles to drop their demands?" Rhen shook her head and sighed as she relaxed. "No? Fine, how about we continue this in our bed hmm?" Rhen gave a weak protest but quickly stopped when the vampire scooped her up. The swordsinger rolled her eyes at the grinning vampire who gently placed her down on the bed. "Come come human, get on your stomach." Rhen grumbled but did as commanded. The vampire straddled her and began to work. The human let out an appreciative moan as she felt her tight muscles loosen under experienced hands. Slowly massaging hands became wandering hands. The swordsinger didn't mind. Rather, Rhen wanted to be even closer to the vampire. She tilted her head exposing more of her neck. The vampire paused at the blatant request. Lowering her head, the vampire tentatively kissed the human's neck to give Rhen a chance to back down. Seeing no response, Teijal bit down making Rhen gasp. Rhen could never get completely used to this, this merging between her and Teijal. For that brief moment, the two were connected as if they were one. She could feel her inner self, her soul being caressed by Teijal. The whole world disappeared in those few moments. When she came to, she felt Teijal lick her puncture wounds that were already closing. Teijal had gotten off of her and was by her side. The vampire didn't take that much from her yet she felt completely boneless. Satisfied with the two small marks, the vampire pulled the human close to her. "I love you." Rhen smiled. "I love you too."

@marian: school's still kicking my behind.
![]() @theone: thanks! fluffy fluff is fluffy. ----- The large black cat looked unamused, its tail swishing irritably. "Ah come on Rhen, don't be like that." It hissed at the hand trying to get it into the bag. "Come on - Ow! Rhen" The cat merely walked away from sun priest's bleeding hand and sauntered over to Teijal, nuzzling her leg. The vampire smiled smugly at the sun priest as she picked up the cat. "Hello little kitty. The big bad sun brat treating you poorly?" The cat purred and licked Teijal's face. Dameon scowled, tossing the bag aside. Elini laughed at the man. Didn't he get the hints by now? Rhen told him blatantly that she wasn't and never would be interested in him. He had way too many daddy and mommy issues. The cat meowed its pleasure as it settled in Teijal's arms. Ignoring the suddenly not so scary vampire with a large pussy cat, Elini looked over to the rest of the group who were in a now regular state of confusion. Their fearless leader was kitty-fied three days ago, where should they head now? Deciding it wasn't good to go adventuring while the sun was going down, the group minus its leader decided to camp for the night. Teijal had the night watch as usual because she didn't need sleep. Watching over the small group, the vampire wondered when she got so soft. Most people wouldn't want a vampire having their backs, much less their highly vulnerable sleeping necks. It would be so easy to stab everyone with a stake and - A quiet meow broke through her thoughts. Teijal patted her lap into which Rhen crawled into. "Hmm? What's wrong Rhen?" The cat shrugged. "The nightmare's back?" Rhen meowed. "Well it would be bad of me if our fearless leader couldn't get her kitty nap yeah?" The cat meowed again, settling into the vampire's lap. The vampire laughed and leaned back against the tree she was sitting against. "Alright alright, I get it my little highness." "So, what story do you want next? A nice gory slaughterpiece or where one about how vampires' totally kick humans' behinds? No? Oh you're such a killjoy. Well okay going from yesterday, see this little human..." Rhen's eyes closed as it listened to the vampire to spin tales about long forgotten heroes, the occasional bumbling idiots, and a few slaughter pieces. It was quite by accident she learned about Teijal's hidden storytelling abilities. She had woken one night dreaming about a familiar man standing over her with chains and pain. Wrapping her arms around her stomach tightly, she rocked herself. A cool hand gently touched her shoulder, but with her already on edge she reacted. When she came to, she had a knife pressed against the vampire's neck, breathing harshly. Teijal laid perfectly still, allowing the human to set the pace. Oh, she would easily be able to stop the human if there was any real danger, but now wasn't the time to be threatening. Seeing Rhen recognized her finally, Teijal moved her hand to touch Rhen's face. "He won't hurt you ever again." She whispered. The human trembled above her before collapsing against her, exhausted. The vampire hugged the human closer to her. She didn't speak for a long while, just held Rhen to her. Eventually, Rhen breathing calmed, but she was still stiff as a board. Feeling the warrior's tension against her, Teijal whispered, "Rhen? Have you've ever heard the story of Yammal the blunt fang vampire?" Since then, the stories, legends, little anecdotes have continued. Rhen purred contently. Teijal smiled as the kitty fell asleep. Patting Rhen's fur one more time, she settled down for the night and hoped there won't be any demons tonight. ------ This is the second time I turned one of the girls into a cat lol.
