Hey,
Today i went to the doctor in the morning, there we stopped by a bakery to eat somethings - when we were there some dog came there - he was really thin and i think by looking at him he hadn't eaten for days! Then the bakery owner came out and kicked him hard on the stomach! He went away crying and whining! I feel soo bad about that dog and, how can people be so cruel ? i think this was really bad so I'm sharing it here.

Any thoughts?

I'm not close with dogs (I don't hate them; I actually like the small ones, but I have a deep-seated fear of barking dogs) but I say, that was mean of the baker. I mean, for safety's sake as well, what if that dog bit back? There were other ways to shoo the dog without kicking it. XP

Yes there were, And the dog wasn't doing just looking about for food. I felt like crying at that time (even if you are not into dogs you must be feeling bad) He could have used a stone ! Why kick that poor,dear little thing! and yes he could have bit back! (gosh I'm wishing that he did but he didn't!) I'm very sure I'm not going back to that baker now!

Using stone sounds more anarchy to me. Even if you used soft way to shoo him, I'm afraid he'll take it as good sign, and you know the rest. And to add, somehow I can see that the dog had been coming to the bakery and the owner was irritated. That's why he kicked it out.

No... a dog van had just dropped it by, I mean yes he could have gotten him afraid just by putting up his and saying shoo shoo, but he just kicked him, The dog was just hungry in my thoughts ! Well and if a dog van drops him you even know the meaning .. he must have not eaten for day i could see all his bones too me it doesn't sound such a bad idea to feed a poor little thing a little ! he was so cute ...

Dog van? Why did they drop the dog? Aren't they going around, collecting dogs? O.o

The owner is doing what best for him. Do you think it is nice to have a *wild* dog around a bakery?(I'm imagining it as a big wild dog. And black XD). If he attempted to feed it, then there'd possible that it'll come again, and it could scare the customers. Perhaps he kicked it because he noticed that customers were scared. Dunno why he kicked, not did another way like you prefer. But kicking would be the fastest thing to get it off, and it wouldn't get injured if he used wooden stick or akin to that.

I see his point. Dogs drive away customers like me who are too scared to go within 10 feet of a dog. And believe me, there are many people like that. Maybe the dog was stubborn

Hey hey, he wasn't big he was a puppy! and dog van collect dogs from other area's and leave them in other area's here! (thats how i lost one of my dogs), So, A puppy should not scare the customers and and and, the Puppy was outside the bakery where NOBODY was just me sitting in the car and my dad buying things ! There should've been no harm in feeding a small puppy, and yes he could have just put up his hand in the air to sacre him (as if he was gonna hit him) and said shoo shoo ! he would have scurried away after that! He was just sniffing about the garbage outside the bakery I think there was no harm in letting him do that and some people in the bakery liked him too many of the people went away after that, I think that was real rude on the dog, and just imagine if you are really hungry and asking for food and somebody kicks you really hard on the stomach ? wouldn't you feel painful, sad, and angry? It was lucky he was a puppy or he could have gotten bitten, And so i think that it was real cruel, He was just trying to get something out of the garbage scattered about... I wanna cry thinking about the dog !

I don't think soo, he looked really helpless i still don't think what the baker did was right! The puppy was just sniffin about HE COULD HAVE put his hand up to show he was gonna hit him and after the puppy would have left !

Can it be done that easy? Driving out dogs isn't that easy as you threat them with forming a fist. Kicking them is the best option, even to pet dogs. Just like a child it'll grow more like a brat when you spoil them.

That is mean, I don't think that will be a good idea, it was a small puppy only!

Okay, it might be bad, but it isn't wrong. That's how stray dogs usually treated.

Well, I agree with Gamez on the fact that kicking the dog was cruel. The bakery owner could have done something else to get rid of the dog, but there may be the problem of the dog coming back again, and again. Dogs can scare customers, and they can hurt people if they're not properly socialized. Dogs can also carry diseases if they're not vaccinated, and by what you're telling us, the dog probably wasn't vaccinated against diseases like rabies and other dangerous things. While what the baker did was mean, he was getting rid of a serious threat.

There was no need for kicking. Simply yelling and making a loud noise would've driven the dog away just fine.

Actually, what the baker did was making the threat worse. Kicking and treating dogs badly, even if it's a stray puppy, will result in it being afraid of humans.
Now that might sound like a good thing if it have diseases etc. But when it grows up, If it survive, it will just be an aggressive dog.
You can see most diseases, and act from that. Either calling someone to get it and put it down, or feed it accordingly.
Hurting the dog just makes a bigger threat later on.

Yeah, there's still one thing left--if the baker is worried about that dog bringing disease to the shop, maybe he should just shoo it away rather than kicking and all that stuff.

Yeah, he is cruel to animals indeed.

If the Dog was Taken away by the dog van it means The puppy was injected! Hello, People what is this world turning into, I can't bear soo much cruelty!
