Netflix does have Legend of the Guardians; we saw it only about a month ago. My favorite characters were Digger and Twilight - a great duo!

@KTC
I never saw Gamer. The premise seemed to weird. @d_a I didn't like him in Phantom of the Opera. But that was more of I grew up with the musical. And I was used to Michael Crawford as the Phantom. And so I ended up comparing the two. Probably shouldn't have compared them, since they are different actors. But I couldn't help it. @Argoyle Good to know. I'll definitely check it out.

@Mopiece: Eh. I too watched the stage and not sure why people compare or think one is better than the other. Thought the movie was good.

It's probably more of preferences. The movie was good, but I prefer the Broadway version.

Devil Wears Prada is kinda old, but still, like always, enjoyed Meryl Streep’s acting– the more you lower your voice, the more intimidating you become :p
HP 7 (part 1 & 2): it’s over!! It’s finally come to end!! *sigh* As for The Rise of the Planet of Apes, wanna watch it.

I hope the Skulduggery Pleasant movie is not just a hoax news and it will really be released. I loved the book and I want to see it on big screen!

I finally saw The King's Speech the other day. I honestly loved it. Often Oscar-winners are more about the hype than the quality, but I really thought this one was an awesome movie. Especially Helena Bonham Carter. She's recently only been in strange Tim Burton-ish roles (aren't they together or something?), but this movie really shows her talent in a completely different way. It's an incredible actress who can portray the wife of a twentieth century king alongside an insane, bloodthirsty witch. <3

I thought that they had a kid or something. I'm glad that they found happiness together, but I'm rather tired of celebrities having children and not getting married. Maybe I'm a traditionalist (okay I am), but I really think that that commitment is important. Anyways, off topic.
I watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last night. Brad Pitt continues to have trouble acting. His accents are abominable (last movie I saw of him he mutilated German; this time he made a Louisiana accent into some mixture of Australian and I-have-no-idea-how-to-do-this-accent-so-I'll-kinda-mumble-a-little-bit-and-hope-nobody-notices). The makeup to change the ages of the characters is spectacular (like honestly, if Harry Potter had gotten those make-up artists then the epilogue might've even been good). Overall, the movie has a very disjointed feel, and I wouldn't recommend it too highly. But hey, if you've got nothing else and are looking for an interesting and unusual movie, it's worth a watch. ![]()

@slim: oh, they had a kid? *Tries to imagine a pregnant bellatrix* XD
@ipink: did not like that movie. Drags and I agree Pitts' acting was not good. Recently saw tactical force and ugh, no. just no. Way too much meaningless dialogue(and I mean meaningless. it was dialogue for the sake of dialogue) for an action movie, the acting was bad, the story was forced, and just a big fat NO for the action movie genre. Was facepalming throughout it.

@KTC: I agree that it dragged a lot. I think a big problem was that it was a nontraditional "memoir"-type thing, which means that it did not follow the three-act structure, or the "hill," and it was missing a climax or the essential three "disasters" that generally included in a plot. So basically, there was no plot. It was just a series of events, which of course is how real life works, but it isn't how you tell a story. It works for a short story read in half an hour (as the original work it is based on is), but it wouldn't work for a novel and it doesn't work for a movie. And the characters are ridiculously slutty for the time period. Near the end of the movie, their progressive sexuality was believable. However, WWI-WWII era it really would not do to discuss sex and ask for sex in the way that the characters did in general polite society (although it did make sense in the NYC climate that the female protagonist was a part of). Of course, there were a host of other historical problems, but that one seemed particularly glaring to me.

So I just watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon and quite honestly the only good thing about the movie was the robots. The acting was horrible. The dialogue was horrible. And the got quite a bit of the science wrong, but that's to be expected since few people in Hollywood understand physics.
Also, the title makes me feel like they lift out 'side'. It sounds better as Dark side of the Moon, not Dark of the Moon. But that could just be me.
