I just finished AV1 and AV2 a couple weeks ago, and I'm in the market for a new game. I've tried a few games that weren't Amaranth and found them terribly boring.

I was thinking of getting GH. Does it have the same scope as AV1 & 2?

It's a completely different kind of game. It's fun but I would recomend you to download the trial and see if you like it. Have you played Ahrimans Prophecy yet. It is very much like AV 1&2, except it is a real time battle engine.

GH is a kind of time-management game.

As Ally says, it's nothing like AV. You have a LITTLE bit of adventure in that you have to complete "quests" for people to progress through the different areas, and you get to buy and sell things, but that's where the RP ends.

You raise magical pets that lay eggs, which you can hatch or sell. If you play on the harder levels, you can get magical eggs that will help or harm your pets (you'll quickly learn which does what).

It fits into the Aveyond universe in that you start in Grimm's Farm, which is in AV2, just below Candar. So this is the farm where you start to raise your pets. A lot of the pets you have to raise, and the monsters you have to fight off, appear in AV2, so you'll recognize those as well.

I probably can't explain this too well. In AP, you battle monsters on the map. I'm not sure if it's turn based or not, but I believe you need to have good reflexes. Me - I'm not into suspense, surprises and heart-pounding action, so I much prefer seeing an enemy walk up and know a battle is coming, and knowing I'll have time to choose my method of attack before I'm squashed like a bug.

Real time battle engine is intensive action. If you don't choose your action quickly, your enemy can move even you haven't make your turn yet.

Ahhh, I see. Hmmm. I guess I'll just have to try them both out.

When I tried to play the demo of AP, my computer couldn't pull the window up corectly, and I coudln't see the whole screen. It made it impossible to play the game. Is that a glitch in the game, or is my computer just not compatible?

AP is an older game, so you may have to change some settings to get it to work.

1. Play in windowed mode (F4 or Alt+Enter)
2. Right click on the AP exe file and choose Properties. In the Compatibility tab, try selecting an older version of Windows and/or lower the colors and resolution.

Playing AP in Win XP will take some time for your monitor to adjust the resolution and brightness, but should not result in crashing, or, can't pull out the window.
