Who said the Darkthrop story is not done? It IS done!

'Course, there's talk about Uma, Nox, and Gyendal returning as cameo/character and all that for Aveyond 4, but so long as game is not in production, that is not confirmation of anything. I mean, I think there's once talk about Aveyond 1 build D where Lars and Rhen actually get hitched, but... Nope. It's not happened yet, and probably will not be happening (unless I remember things wrong OR I had had a really odd dream).

I'm doubting that they'll be main characters because that's not the way Amanda goes from what I've seen.
Ean and Iya also made it seem in the end that they'd be main characters later but they weren't and I'm more than 90% sure that the new Aveyond will be completely unrelated to the previous ones (Except honorary mentions)

Meh. Right around the time that FB post was made she did sound like she's still excited enough about them to make them become PCs so who knows? After all, everyone loves Te'ijal and she did return. And Ahriman was popular enough to warrant an almost-return, had it not been for the fact that it wouldn't make sense for him to reappear. Still, people change their minds a lot We'll see it when we see it.

Personally, I'm totally all for Gyendal being a PC. I don't care it ruins my AU continuity. I can always re-tailor it as needed. But if he becomes a PC, Amanda and co will HAVE to give him a face and I WANT TO SEE IT!! Unless, should it happen, I miraculously gets to be the one to do the facesets. Then there's no surprise anymore.

But Te'ijal's never been the Main Character, she's always been a side one, not the main heroine

Plus, two PC is different from FOUR or Five if Gyendal is included

If Te'ijal were ever a protagonist I would totally die of excitement.

The only place you'll see any mention of Rhen and Lars getting together is the new ending in Aveyond 1, build C. It doesn't say they DO, but for the shippers, it gives a glimmer of hope. Anything about a build D was purely speculation and (to my knowledge) not supported by any statements from Amaranth staff.

The Orbs of Magic (Aveyond 3) series is finished. It consisted of 4 chapters featuring Mel & co. The next Aveyond (Aveyond 4, which is still not in production) will be a completely new story, even though some of the characters you already know (ie. Uma and Nox, and possibly others) may reappear, may be playable characters, and may even be the main characters.

@theone: I said there's a chance they'll be PCs, but never said they'll be protags. Still, I'll take Gyendal being side-PC anytime. I just want to see his face.

@shaz: Yeah... maybe I heard about build D in a weird dream @____@ Because... it sounds a bit too good to be true

So now that Curse at Twilight is out, what's the next game? Gypsy's Tale 2? The next Aveyond? Whatever it is, I'm excited!

I actually hope we do get a new RPG series. I love Aveyond, but a new world would be awesome to explore. I'd actually prefer that, at this point.

A new RPG/series that isn't Aveyond? Interesting thought ... but there are lots of those from other developers too at the moment. Stranger things have happened, I suppose (do not read anything into that)

We have a lot still going on with CAT1. The CE and AM versions have been released, but there's still the SE, the Mac version, the iPad version, along with localizing all of them into 9 other languages.

As I said ^up there^, schedules change from time to time, so though we have one new project that's being worked on right now by the artists, we may actually shuffle things around and release one or two other games in the meantime.

Ha. Or maaaaayyybe you guys can make an Aveyond spinoff. Set in the Demon Realm. And the hero is Gyendal. Then D_A will be very happy Mirror/Shadow Aveyond ≠ Aveyond --> Should not be part of main series, no? (I am semi serious. I'd love to hear more about the Demon Realm and its various Shadow/Mirror versions of the human lands)

Speaking of which, what would be the difference between CE and non-CE, considering that the CE is built into the game itself and not a separate chapter?

iPad, Mac, and localization... Nice! iPad and Mac users will be happy. I didn't know it's not out yet. I thought they'd be released along with the CE and AM versions...

CE = Collector's Edition
SE = Standard Edition (non-CE)

The SE does not include any of the CE content - in the game itself, this means there are no gold/silver/bronze locks or keys, and no puzzles that were associated with them. The bonus chapter (beyond the gate in the back yard of the manor) has also been removed.

Since this is our first HOG done entirely in-house, we would be silly to try and release PC, Mac and mobile versions all at the same time. I don't actually know of anybody who does this - a few might with PC and Mac, but there are a lot who don't. With the PC version, we got the game itself sorted out, and bugs related to the PC hardware. Once that was done, we could move on to Mac - the game itself worked, but there were more platform-specific bugs to sort out. This is still being done. Finally, the game has to be completely rewritten for iOS, in XCode, mouse changed to touch controls, optimized for a less powerful processor and smaller memory, ...

Perhaps down the track we can get the different platforms released with a shorter delay (or for PC/Mac, maybe even simultaneous), but it would be very unlikely that we'd hold off release on one platform if it was ready to go, just because another platform still has some bugs to be worked out.

Oooh. I'm curious. In the CE the sword we needed to break open Sarah's grave is beyond the gate. So in the SE the sword will be elsewhere? Because it's kinda annoying for the players if the story doesn't end properly unless they get CE

In the SE, you will obtain another item from the embers in the fireplace (not a keystone anymore), and you will use this to open the coffin.

Is the release schedule still just one game a year? Because you mentioned having a few games in the works, and it would be awesome to finally get more than one in a year.
