We have tons of wildlife where I live, but unfortunately, I live in the middle of the city so I don't see much of it myself. But hitting a deer or moose on the road is a real risk here - I have to plan my trips back to my hometown so that I'm not on the highway near or during the dark hours, especially during moose mating season. My co-workers who live on the outskirts of the city also say they've had bears in their backyards. And that's really just the tip of it xD
Anyway, here are a few pics I've managed to snap. ![]() Not sure what kind of bird this is, but it's the brightest yellow I've seen on a wild bird. I couldn't get a sharp picture of him because he kept fluttering around! ![]() A muskrat! He kept coming and going as I sat by the lake, eating my lunch! ![]() A chipmunk! We actually have tons of this little critters around but they usually move so fast and are so small that they're usually out of sight in the blink of an eye. ![]() And we have lots of ducks, of course xD ![]() And, of course, Canada Geese xD These guys held up traffic for a while, too.

@Bryce
Great picture. It makes me wish I lived near a pier. @Aeternus Do you have any pictures of Moose? I think they're such funny animals.

Great Photos Aeternus... we don't have any moose where we live... it would be quite a site around here!
![]() Next time you see one... break out that phone! ![]() Honestly, since starting this thread I find myself looking at the animals I see regularly wondering if I could manage to get a good photo of them on my phone ![]() Amanda spotted a hummingbird nesting in a tree outside our place the other day... I wanted to take a photo but it's so small and hard to see, I'd need to get closer to get a good photo but I didn't want to scare it so... onward to my next unsuspecting animal. ![]()

Ahahah, unfortunately, I haven't seen a moose yet! I think I'd be scared if I came across one, though. They're massive and I think they're known to charge sometimes, too. And if you hit one with your car, you're a goner (as well as the moose).

I finally found some of my photos of the local wildlife. The animals are a little farther away, because I had to race and find the camera.
Coyote- He was a little crazy and wandering around one afternoon. ![]() Raccoon- The family of raccoons would hang around for a few hours every afternoon to eat some of the berries from the palm tree. ![]() Tortoise- The gopher tortoise liked the mulchy spot that was left after we removed the giant pine tree. ![]()

We have the cutest little squirrels here. Many different colors I've never seen before. I've attached a picture of one.

Couldn't get a picture of it but a few days ago either mom or dad was outside when Patches (one of my cats) chased a baby chipmunk up one of our trees. At least it is safe. Chipmunks are quite rare to see where I am.

awww, wish you had a picture of that.
We went away for the weekend, and I got these photos. ![]() A local (to Gold Coast, Queensland) beekeeper and flower grower started to feed the lorikeets, in order to keep them from destroying his flowers. The lorikeets soon learned where the food was, and their regular visits became a bit of a curiosity. In 1947 he established a sanctuary, and in 1976 he gifted it to the National Trust of Queensland. These birds ARE wild, but they know that twice a day they can come here and get food. They won't come near you if you don't have anything to give them. My arms had little pin-pricks all along them after this We have two of these birds as pets, and while they'll sometimes come close enough for a nibble on your finger, we don't yet have them eating out of our hands.And of course I just couldn't pass up sharing a photo of this gorgeous guy (girl?) taking food out of my hand (which, of course, they won't do in the wild). ![]()

He doesn't seem to have the plan to rule the world XD@Shazzy: Is that...a kangaroo in the second picture? ![]() @Sou: Wow, it's really pretty and colourful~ Reminds me of someone giving me a branch of its feather when I was a child (is that even called 'branch'?)
