Hello everyone~ Here to announce info about a game in making.
If anyone has read or looked at the Treasured Locket's thread and is interested in that game, for now it's on hold but this game is set about two hundred years before what goes on in Treasured Locket.
The game's name is...




Note: This is a quickly put together logo, with brushes. It will be changed in future.

Well anyway onto summary.

Varge a young boy, who is still only a apprentice knight is one day suddenly requested for an audience with the King. He quickly finds himself paired up with Fracious, a well known high ranking Knight and close to the King. They are given a task, this task begins their long journey, this task is, 'Locate and report the whereabouts of the Vai'ne guild. Follow Varge on his journey, as he meets friends, explores numerous places, and discovers a meaning for him to dedicate his whole self to this quest. But will he succeed you'll just have to see for yourself.

Background information:

Almost ten years ago a troublesome guild appeared, they attacked without mercy, burnt villages, crushed people and split families apart making them fall into misery and hatred brewed.
A new King rose once this nasty group took out the old one, but their actions did not cease only decreased as this new King dispatched Knights to bring justice and a new day to his people.
Yet this guild has still not been caught and the people live in fear still trying to move on with their lives.

Characters: (Only two will be revealed at the moment)

Varge Mc'haiven:
A young apprentice knight, who is the protagonist of the game. He takes the task he has been given half-heartedly most of the time, still trying to move on from what he lost so many years ago.

Fracious Avon:
A trusted, well known high ranking knight who is close to the King. He hates the Vai'ne guild with a passion, using this hatred to engulf himself to completing the task he and Varge has been given.

Yes, this game will be commercial. It is in early development stages though. Most likely it will be sold for $10 to $20 dollars.

As for tile-sets, I wish to get custom made tile-sets done for this game. I do have an artist who said she can do them, but she also said she can't start till about next month.

13,500 words of main/story line draft script have been written.

At this stage the game will feature five playable characters.

why did you stop working on the first game, and start with this?

Well one I lost my script and still cannot find it. And two I have asked my IT teacher and he says I'm allowed to make a game for assessment.
I will start a new script for Treasured Locket while working on this though.

Update:

Scripting is going along well, I estimate that at least 70% of the draft script is done.

About tile-sets, the artist I had in mind might be too busy with other work. Does anyone know where I should look for a new one as back up??? I would like to start the tile-sets being made soon as well so yeah... Please tell me if you know where I should look.

Another update:

Urghh... The price for custom made tile-sets is really expensive! But I really want the game to have custom ones, ARGHH!

Anyway yeah... I'll keep slowly scripting with this game and work on a different project, called Humble hearts. Check the link in my sig below.

Humble hearts will be commercial, and whatever profit I gain from it will be used towards making Varge's quest.
Tile-sets I will be using are the AV2, along with some by Celianna and Lunarea.

Whoa, how much DO they cost?

Anyways. Custom doesn't have to mean "entirely new set made from scratch". You can take RTP tilesets, edit them, and mix-and-match items from various tilesets.

I know that and I do plan to do that with bridge's. plants and other, but it costs a lot, most pixel artist work by tile (a single tile for most is like $15 from all the quotes I got) other than that there are some who will set a price for a certain amount of tiles, but still expensive!
