I have a tendency to get paranoid about running out of mana with a character who only uses magic (i.e., a character who's powerful with magic by has a really weak melee hit, like Stella at the beginning of AV3, for example). I guess my favorite class would be a mage who has powerful spells AND a powerful melee hit when she runs out of mana (like Rhen). Of course, my preferred style of battling most of the time is just whacking at the enimies until they die.

If I CAN play a dual sword-wielding Elf, I WILL play a dual sword-wielding Elf. Also like Rangers, but only if they can talk to animals, like in Neverwinter Nights.

If you're soloing & you don;t like to die every 5 seconds, the worst classes are Bard & White Mage (priest/healer).

If I can avoid playing an elf, I avoid playing an elf. Just something about prancing into battle that I dislike. Maybe it is having to prance everywhere I go. Silly elves and their prancing.

Swordsinger and mage trees are my favourite because in AV1 I liked the idea of combining magic with sword fighting and mage trees are good because you get to choose what type of magic you want!

My favorite RPG class is a Sentinel now (sorry soldier class. You've had a nice and very long run.) I suit up with an bomb shield that, when detonated, hurts everything around me. Then I run into the field, blow it up, and run back for cover. In the meantime, I take out my trusty shotgun or SMG to shoot my enemies in the face.

It's incredibly satisfying to do, especially since I basically get to act like a Berserker who still has her wits with her.

The warrior/soldier class of course. And people don't like them because it's the 'default class' or something, it's because they're strong and not 'high-maintanance' (unlike those magic-type weaklings).

Can't stand healers/mages since they're weak and doesn't seem to really put any efforts on their attacks (concentration is NOT an effort!) Don't like it that they can deal a decent amount of damage since they don't deserve their power (I know it sounds weird.) But it's another case if I'm grinding or just plain lazy.

Everlong's healers are a different thing though. Good healers and decent attackers. Actually my favourite type in the game.

I have taken a special liking to thieves and archers (especially the latter one.) Thieves makes the battle fun while archers are fast and are the ones doing the 'finishing move'.

Bards go to my hate list too. Weak attack, defense and magic which make them even more useless than the healers and mages *coughs*Exit Fate*coughs*. But the bard in 'The Book of Three', you can 'compose' a song in a battle about the monster once, and those songs can have multiple effects, ranging from attacks/defense, increase stats/'barriers' to healing which makes learning the skillls fun.

Personally my favorite type is a strong mage of offensive skills and well as some healing powers and a shield or two who is also a strong fighter like rhen or ean armed with a bow and arrows for more range or a rapier

How come? I find it interesting to watch. She's like an amateur version of Mairead Nesbitt who reminds me of a fairy.

Someone posted a video of her playing "Pump It" (one of Black Eyed Peas' songs) 3 or 4 years ago at bep.com. Her mannerism when playing the violin is an eyesore. Worse than Lang Lang 10x. Glad you don't have to walk around when playing the piano. :o)

Edit: Watched it. Well, she's older so she's less annoying. Vanessa Mae's mannerism at least aren't that dramatic than them two. Itz lyk lulz b!@#$ needz 2 stAnD stIlL!!1!!

Offtopic is offtopic
'Glad you don't have to walk around when playing the piano. :o)"
^ that's called a Keytar lol.

Vanessa mae? *watches a few youtube vids* Hmmm not bad though it sounds like Bond.

Between all three violinists, I prefer Mairead's style of flitting around the stage since it makes the other wise typical stationary violinist interesting to watch.

I swear most of the Asians here, if learning to play an instrument, learn either piano or violin. So you have to be extraordinarily good at it or learn to do something interesting while playing to warrant more than a cursory glance.

Alright, back on topic:
Fiinnneee, if Lindsay is not showing how awesome a Bard can be under the right game/fandom/music video, Leliana and bards in general from Dragon Age are great examples of smashing stereotypes.

I'll let TVtropes say it for me:

"Averted in Dragon Age: Origins where Leliana is a highly competent addition to the party, bringing deadly rogue skills to the table. If you follow her dialogue trees, you learn that the bards of Orlais are in fact spies and assassins, masters of intrigue and deception.

'Enemy' bards manage to be incredibly dangerous. High-leveled ones can set up Captivating Song, stunlocking anyone within a fair-sized radius of themselves. They're immobilized while doing this, but so is everyone else. It's telling that bard is among the rarest enemy classes.

What makes it noteworthy is that all of Orlais seems determined to avert this one - there, "bard" is more or less a synonym for "assassin." One wonders what their music lessons are like."

^ most likely filled with a lot of pleasure/pain hehe.

Heh what if a tone deaf person is singing while playing an instrument? Does that make him/her a deadly assassin?? xd

Considering what we know of Orlasians (who are completely obsessed with fashion, political intrigue, and decadence.), a tone deaf musician would be dead before he/she utter another note lol.
