@KTC: I heard about that show. It's Canadian or something, so I didn't watch, and it doesn't sound like it's good enough to be worth it. I'm always disappointed when characters I love are thrust into average-to-terrible shows or movies. I hope they don't kill her off, for your sake. XD

@Mopiece: I've considered watching that show, but people have told me that the first season is weak except for the first and last episodes, and that the second season is really, really slow. So I don't know whether I should try it or not...

Does anyone here like Avatar: The Last Airbender? The sequel show just started airing last Saturday, and it's really good. Even if you haven't seen the original series, this one is self-contained enough that you don't really need the first series, and it's at least worth a try. The episodes I think are still free on iTunes, and you can watch them on the Nickelodeon site.

Heh, me too. There aren't many adorkable science-y women on TV or in media.

Avatar: My friends rave about it so it's somewhere on my to watch list.

The first season isn't weak at all. The first season was pretty good. The second season is a little slow, but in the second half of the series it picks up.

@d_a: Oh, no, I don't have anything against Canada. It's just easy and enjoyable to make fun of.

It's not quite compensation for Zutara, since this time around there's actually canon support for it (there was a trailer that had a brief shot of them kissing). But it's a lot like Zutara in every other aspect. XD

@Mopiece: It's on Netflix, so I might watch it. I'm not sure I have the time, though, with all of my shows coming back from hiatus. Revenge is back this week, and it's totally worth watching. It's the best kind of soap opera. XD

@iPink: It may well be compensation Mako looks like Zuko and Kora looks like Katara (or maybe it's a case of Only Six Faces) The producers must be well aware of the shipper-RAEG and maybe decided to be trollin' the fans *shrug*

Ugh the protagonist in the 2nd season of Avatar is annoying. Kinda like a little version of that tomboy earthbender in season 1.

Oh and that Canadian joke cracked me up. ;D

Anyone a Zuko x Katara fan? =D It'd be a match made in heaven, but Mai's not bad too... hmm...

Dunno anything bout Avatar 2nd season other than I really like the design of the main chick and her massive dog. Massive dog is cute. Main chick looks like a strong female without being overboard masculine.

Katara is the blue one who was paired up with arrowhead right?

@d_a: The creators trolled Zutara shippers hard. There was a promo for the third season that included every single moment that could possibly be taken in support of the couple from the entire season. Taken in context, there was nothing there. Fans were mad.

@Ivana: It's technically the fourth season. XD More like a big version of the tomboy earthbender. Toph was twelve and really short, and she's seventeen and pretty tall.

I'm not much of a fan for Zutara. It seems like the only rationalization for them is that they're both pretty.

@KTC: New main character is Korra, by the way. And the arrowhead guy is Aang.

@Ivana: I am a Zutara fan for no reason, because I hardly ever see the show. I watch little snippets here and there when I happen to be somewhere with Nick on the TV. And some more random episodes when Last Airbender made its way to the local TV channels.

Ain't a big fan of Kataang because it's such a given that you KNOW it's gonna happen from day one. It's not interesting. Zuko... I'm such a sucker for "redemption" stories, so yeah. And couples with friction are more interesting.

I've been watching Supernatural for the past few weeks, it just started airing here. On to season 5 now, there's two more left, I think. I really like it, it's pretty great

@d_a: It's actually really good. Lots of people don't like the second episode because of the rampant Orientalism and what they describe as racism, but the other two are well-liked by basically everyone. I personally enjoyed all three, but whatever. YMMV, etc.

@d_a: Appropriation of Oriental and especially Chinese imagery in ways that lack appreciation and understanding of the true culture of those places. Basically, reducing China and its people to weak stereotypes. It's not blatantly offensive, and I still thought that there were merits to the episode, but it is certainly problematic, and the other two episodes were much better.
