@ivana: the invention is the submachine, another series by pastel games. From my understanding, Covert Front is the prequel to Submachine.
It's just the game maker didn't mention covert front was the prequel until you find out in 4 XD

You got to look at the coding to find a difference (you may need high tech computers, etc. just to do it).

Of course the coding is slightly different. That's why you can't update pirated games with official patch- you must use the pirated patches as well. It's just that you don't notice the differences from the gameplay, graphics, or anything.

Aaaand sometimes it causes weird stuff to happen. Like it absolutely refuses to play. At all.
In another news, I'm still spiteful at BFG's monthly punch card system. It used to be "punch cards anytime". Now you have to fill it up in a month or else the stamps expire and you lose the stamps. RAWR. That's MEAN, BFG. I know you need people to spend money on your games, but that is MEAN. With the anytime punch card, I can buy a game today and wait a few more months to gather coupons and use the Daily Deals and Weekly Catches to buy the games I want. Now I have to hurry and and rush to spend money so my coupons don't expire *fume*

That is also a bad way cause people could have punchers at home and punch away.

Haha RMN's been buzzing at this game called "Future Helper of Seven Towers" (quite a stupid name of a game mind you).
Didn't bother to play it but someone uploaded an LP. I don't normally watch them cause they're boring but this game is so friggin' hilarious even though it's unintentional. Edit: K that drunken paladin game is also at RMN. Interestingly, it got mixed reviews. Two gave it 2 out of 5 while one it gave 4/(4.5?). And LOL someone mentioned the game being overrated and probably, the ones who played it are 'crass teenagers' hahahha. xD *whistles*

@Binas: .... Are you dense? Do make sure you know what you're talking about before replying. It's not a physical punch card that you can stamp at home! It's a digital punch card that get "punched" or "stamped" every time you buy something off the site.
@Ivana: I dunno about Drunken Paladin being over-rated or not. I just stumbled upon it and played it without seeing any reviews, and thought it was pretty good. The humor ain't very nice sometimes, but the bajillion events is fun. In the later builds, the extension adventure is pretty fun. I love the ram racing and the slot machine I can't even begin to understand how to program that sort of thing =___=

@D_A Well the reviews DID say at some point of the game, the walking speed gets REALLY slow, and what's worse you get like so many encounters at so little steps. I might have played it if they didn't say it had a slow walking speed though.

Looks like an rpgmaker game.
So you could just edit the walking speed to be faster.

I don't know and don't want to bother looking at which map to edit the walking speed.

@Ivana: Check the review dates. Those may have been issues from an older build because this game gets updated a lot. I personally don't see any problem with the walking speed in the newest build. The only issue I find are graphic errors, LOL
E.g: the mining animation doesn't go away even after you're done mining and the character walks around the screen wielding the pick.For a free game, it was pretty awesome, even before it was expanded and made into an insane 40-something-hour-long game. The modern culture references does get old after a while, and not all the jokes are funny, but it was good. Beats some of the commercial games out there.

Eh. You probably won't like it if you can't stand crude words. Plenty of swearing and dirty words. And dirty jokes.
TTHW has one thing that definitely makes it lose against Drunken Paladin: graphics I can't stand the RM2k and RM2k3 graphics. They make my eyes hurt. I'm biased like that. And visuals is REALLY important to me in, well, anything. I can try to stomach the eyesore it's going to give me and see how wonderful it is for myself. Based on the summary it looks so... common. What makes TTHW so special?

@D_A:
I agree. RM2K/3 graphics do hurt to look at. Sometimes I mange to survive them. If the pixels where smoother like rmxp's.

@D_A
Whatwhatwhat? I got banned here before for dirty jokes lol. I saw a screenshot of it by a reviewer though that said, "You a******! We can't go there, it's burning! We need to find another way."-something like that. Very nice use of breaking the 4th wall, and it also cracked me up. xD I might consider playing it, but only AFTER I'm done with the classic games that's been piling up. Well, the only 'old' graphics that I couldn't stand is 8-bits. Yeah many people who are used to xp/vx graphics can't stand 2k. But I'm sure, in the long run, no one will be THAT shallow to only care for a game's appearance. I mean, you don't see someone loving the game just because it has good graphics. It's like, "Hey! I've finally finished xxx! The game's really great!" "What's so great about it?" "The graphics!" "...so, you're telling me you've just played a game because of decent graphics even if the story is mediocre, and probably boring? What did you do, stare at the screen for 10+ hours to appreciate the scenery?" ^see? That sounded stupid. I'm sure Aveyond or any other commercial rpgs have nice graphics but they will be a forgettable game. I'm a 75% story/gameplay/humor, 25% graphics person. So if the game's story REALLY suck, then the gamemaker should make it up for gameplay (tactical for me), and humor (I love comedy). I don't care if the graphics' chipsets are ripped or old, if the map isn't spacey/too crowded and 'does what it does', then I'm completely satisfied with it. K, so back to TTHW. The most outstanding feature of the game isn't the great characters/plotline but the CRAZY amount of playability! No, being "married" to different characters does NOT mean 'non-linearity' *coughs*. What I'm talking about is even the tad bit of your action will the affect the whole scene you'll have when you meet said character in the future. It makes the game realistic and will keep you entertain. Unlike some linear games, like, if you've met this character, later on he'll probably say the same dialogue whether or not you've met him. That makes it boring and bland. The messed up plotline and the funny characters are also the biggest factors to this game. Also, did I mention this game have lots of humor? And the "romance" ISN'T cheesy! =D Yeah the summary looks common. But it's hard to say more in the summary without spoiling the plotline. Oh and some of the classics are The Way, ABL and Aurora Wing. Last one is criminally underrated btw. @binas That's understandable, coming from someone who's gaming experience only revolves around Aveyond.
