I'm a little bit sad that, with this being the final movie, I'll never get to see Poison Ivy as interpreted by Nolan, just because I'd love to see how he would attempt to make her all dark and gritty and such. Just one more movie and we should have gotten her; after all, past Catwoman, Bane, Scarecrow, Joker, and Two-Face, who else is there? Poison Ivy, Penguin, and Mr. Freeze are the only high profile villains they'd have left. Alas, that shall never happen (unless Nolan unexpectedly changes his mind, which is super unlikely, especially considering the recent tragedy). Still haven't seen this one yet, but probably will today or tomorrow (or, failing that, this Friday).

I don't know, iPink. I think they're trying to make the Justice League into the movie after seeing the success of The Avengers. They've rebooted Superman again, and with the Batman movies a success, I'm sure if Superman is successful they'll go for Justice League.

OF ALL THE VILLAINS!!! THEY HAD TO PICK TALIA AL-GUL!!!! Am I just blind or is the SUPER-SECRET-TWIST-OMG-big-bad came right out of nowhere in a twist that gave me a whiplash? Because this reminds me of that Aveyond 2 kerfuffle. Oh! The Snow Queen is the Big Bad! Fight her!! No, wait! It's Heptitus who is pulling the Snow Queen's strings!

That autopilot thing is not a big surprise. They keep on bringing it up, so that's your foreshadowing. Alfred's "fantasy" scene of a cafe is also a foreshadowing of sorts. But Bane!! WHAT THE FLAMING FUDGE WAS THAT????

I honestly would rather have the villain be Poison Ive-Bane combo like in the old movie. After all, in this movie Bane is also a right-hand-man/minion/partner of Talia Al-Gul instead of his own villain. So why not make Talia ALSO be Poison Ivy somehow? *mumble mutter*

Actually, I think the ending is that the cop guy (I didn't catch his name) becomes the next Batman and he just calls himself Robin for the lulz. Bruce Wayne looks like he isn't going to play vigilante anymore.

For the characters I recognize in Inception, I'd just call them their Inception-names rather than their actual names.

So...
Cop = Arthur
Talia = Mal
Scarecrow/Crane = Fischer
Alfred = Miles

@Mopiece: That'll probably happen, but only after a Batman reboot. Considering how Nolan is backing out of the franchise, I don't think that the studio would risk putting the same character into a Justice League movie (fan backlash, etc.). Plus, I highly doubt that Christian Bale will come back. And even if everything lined up just right, I don't know that they would use a Batman villain for the Justice League. Then again, I've been wrong before.

Christian Bale might come back. I did read some where that he'd come back for a fourth Batman. And I really don't think they have time to reboot Batman and Superman, if they want to get a Justice League movie.

You know, one of the worst part about the Batman movie is the dialogue.

Batman: *Rasp rasp grbl grbl hiss snrk sss rasp rasp*
Bane: *mmmrf mrrf rrff mmpph mumble mutter mutter muffle hrrmmmph mmpff*
Me: I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU BOTH!!!!!!!!!!

There's a comic over at deviantart about this and I can't seem to find it again...

If they do a justice league movie, wouldn't they need to do more 'character movies'?

After all, JL isn't only superman, Batman, and Green Lantern (though he seems to be forgotten). Off the top of my head, Wonderwoman, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkgirl were all main members of the JL yet there hasn't been a Wonderwoman anything in a long time and the others don't have anything, TV or movie.

Avengers worked cuz all main dudes (Pity no Natasha/hawkeye movie) are fairly well known and each got their own movie.

DC only got Green SuperBats.

There was a Wonderwoman TV series in the works, but I believe it's been scrapped.

I do agree that there should be more character movies for members of the JL, before they all come together for the group movie. The formula worked well for the Marvel folks.

I'd go for WonderWoman. I want to see her on big screen! I hope if they ever do make her movie she won't be lame over overly-sexed-up

@KTC: But why must the producers create movies for the individual heroes before they could make a hero-team movie? I know that each of the heroes' characters have to be defined, and the easiest to do so is to dedicate an entire movie on the individual, so that when the team assemble, the producer don't have to re-enact character development for each of the heroes all over again...

But then again, I never watch Ironman, Thor, or Hulk before watching The Avengers, and I still get a gist of their background and characteristics, so it's actually not necessary to make all of the 'character movies' just to introduce the people in the 'team movie'.

@d_a: I remember that was an issue with that possible TV series. A press-release photo was sent out showing the actress dressed in her full WonderWoman costume, and she was wearing very high-heeled boots. Everyone complained that there was no way she'd be able to run and fight crime in those, so the producers lowered the heels.
I guess that wasn't enough to save the series, though.

@adept: Because probably no one outside of comic fans or people who watched the <1990s JL cartoons knows about the others other than Wonderwoman so you're going to have to juggle introducing the new guys on top of assembling the team and defeating the bad guy.

I doubt Hollywood can juggle all of that successfully together.

Also, speaking as someone who watched all the movies, I feel you get a better sense and connection with the characters in Avengers rather than just watch the last one.

UPDATE:

Today watched Batman: Dark Knight rises, Brave, and The new spiderman.

Batman: Dark knight.
Let me get this out of the way: WHY DID THEY MAKE CATWOMAN WEAR 5 INCH HEELS?! SERIOUSLY, WHY?! I THOUGHT THESE MOVIES WERE SUPPOSE TO BE MORE REALISTIC. 5 INCH HEELS IS NOT REALISTIC OR PRACTICAL IN ANY WAY EVEN IF THERE WERE STEEL HEELS.

Okay, now that that's out of the way. Hathaway did a passable job as the Cats though I'm not really feeling the sexy from her. I love Bane and was actually rooting for him to win. Finally someone who can dish out and take as much physical punishment as the Bats. Talia was a bit left field but eh, it ties it all up to the 1st movie so I'll go with it. Overall, an okay movie.

Brave: I liked this movie and thought it was pretty entertaining. I love how the ma went all rawr in the end.

Spiderman: I surprisingly liked this movie a lot. I feel Marvel finally found their Spiderman as the dude was perfect, much better than the other guy who has as much feeling/facial expression as a piece of wood. Doc. Connor was great and Gwen Stacy = <3

YES. Hathaway was trying too hard to act sexy, but didn't quite get it right. She just isn't sexy. As a matter of fact, at some point in the movie she looks so much like Stephenie Meyer to me that I was all

BTW, is it just me or was there a slight yuri moment between Cats and her blonde roommate/friend?

Also, maybe it's just me, but I didn't appreciate Talia being the less attractive lady of the two. It's almost like "yeah, the not-so-attractive girl is bad, yo! Go with the prettier one!" Or maybe I'm just the one with weird taste and other people actually find Talia prettier than Cats. Whatever.

Lastly: I still can't get over the fact that "the Bat" look more like a trilobite or a termite than a bat. A FREAKING FLYING TRILOBITE!!! Fox must be getting a little bit, er, senile in his old age.

@agas:

yuri: Not just you. I think it's a nod to Holly's and Selina's relationship in the comics. Holly was a lesbian though I'm not sure if she/Selina ever hooked up or it was just friends. With Selina flipflopping all over Batman, I'm leaning toward friends.

Talia: Eh, she's alright looking. I don't find Hathaway that pretty either though.

The bat: I think that was more Fox's way of remembering the batman and reminding bruce that he misses creating weapons for the Bats.

It still looks like a giant trilobite. That thing coulda looked cooler. I mean, if there's even the tiniest bit of explanation, I'd buy it. Maybe something like this:
Bruce: It looks like a spaceship/bug/worm.
Lucius: That shape is necessary for what this thing is supposed to do.
Bruce: Could've been cooler.
Lucius: It looks scary enough for the Batman, what more do you want?

Short but at least it's something. But I'm a minority and most people probs don't care.

Talia is meh. She's ok, but to me looks much less attractive than Selina, so that's why I have issues. Then again, I have a rather weird idea of what "attractive" is so it's probably me and my bias.

Watched Mr. Brooks and Punisher: Warzone.

Mr. Brooks is about a meticulous serial killer who kills to feed his addiction. Unlike Dexter who only kills other criminals, his victims usually are 'good' people. And you're rooting for him.
Pretty good movie though it gets a bit disturbing at times since I know I should hate the guy but I end up rooting for him anyway.

Punisher: Warzone. I'm pretty sure I reviewed this earlier but whatever. It's a kill!Blood!Sort of gory movie which is perfect for those "I WANT A BLOODY MOVIE" occasions.

Just watched Batman Begins (because I never did when it was first released), and realized that the twist in Dark Knight Rises makes more sense. Especially if you pay attention to close details, Miranda/Talia's words often mirrors Ra's al-Ghul's. Plus, she have the brand of the League of Shadows. Wish the reference of foreshadowing didn't go that far back though.

And Nolan is probably a fan of Cillian Murphy or something. Why else would he make Scarecrow appear in all three movies (the only villain in the entire saga to do so) when he really have no business being there? << Pointless trivia

What, he was? I must have been not paying attention because I don't see him. Unless you mean Scarecrow shows up as cameo in the other movies?

Yeah, Scarecrow appeared as only cameo in TDK and TDKR, but at least he was physically there, and not just mentioned in a throwaway comment or something.

Anyway, I just watched Total Recall, and I believe this movie has the most action scenes, compared to the films I've watched recently. Overall it was satisfactory - the action were cool and so were the soundtrack though they may be overdoing it with the explosions; graphic-wise, I love the sceneries (yes, even the gloomy and desolate ones. I do have a strange interest with abandoned/grungy settings), loved the technology (including the sentry bots), and most of all, the bizzarechitechture.

Of course, the movie wasn't perfect, and I have to complain about the very unprofessional lighting control. Maybe it was intentional, but I certainly don't appreciate having those random flashes all over the screen, not to mention that the intensity of those lights goes to almost blinding proportions. The plot also seemed too rushed, and we keep on getting introduced to seemingly important characters only to have them killed seconds later before they have chance to develop. I also have a minor gripe about the protagonist's love interest being less attractive and less skilled than his 'nemesis'.
