Hi
I just finished playing version 1 of Aveyond 2 and didn't even realise there was a new version. Can anyone tell me what the differences between the versions are please? It sounds like it's more than just bug fixing and I wanted to know if it was worth replaying with the new version. Thanks.

The beginning of the game has been greatly changed to catch the player's attention and draw them into the action sooner.
You'll see/learn more about the Snow Queen and head right to Shaenlir as soon as you enter the world of men. There is also a lot more party interaction throughout the game and the chance to marry other pairings besides Ean and Iya. ![]()

I like the story of version 1 more, since Iya won't come with you the first time you meet her - more realistic

You will also know that you can choose your difficulty level in the Version 2 of Aveyond 2.
The easy level is for those who are having trouble getting through the game due to lacking money and tougher enemies that lead to the bosses to fight. Also your life gauge refills after going up each level. The medium/normal level is pretty much the same as the Version 1 of AV2. The hard level makes the enemies a bit more harder to fight . Neither medium nor hard levels will replenish your life points when you reach a new level.

Actually as far as difficulty goes, EASY is exactly the same as AV2 version 1. The big difference there is that HP/MP are restored when you level up.
Check the pinned walkthrough for version 2 - it lists the main differences between the versions.

Thanks. More party interaction is definitely something I wanted in version 1, sounds like it's worth trying.
![]() I don't suppose they fixed the thing where if a roaming citizen is on a one person wide path or street you can't walk past them until they decide to move? That drove me crazy lol.

Lol, that is not fixed. We have discussed it before, take a look at that thread

Started playing version 2. The extra background stuff is interesting, although I preferred version 1 where the oracle was more mysterious and you didn't even know who she was in the forest cottage.
Also doesn't seem much of a reason to go to Shadow Woods, if I was new playing and didn't know what was there from version 1 I probably wouldn't even have noticed the place. Hmm, don't know if it's just because I've played it before but the battles seem easier hehe. I picked Normal mode.

Ah no. You must still visit Shadow Woods in version 2 for Woodman's dynamite. If you don't you can't blast the rock blocking your way to Bogwood and Seri.

I still have the woodman's dynamite. Rye had some for the rock.

but you can only get it from the woodsman's cottage. So at best, if you didn't visit Shadow Woods, you would get as far as Thais and Candar, but no further. Eventually you'd have to go back there for that stick.

Ah *smacks self*, misread reply and thought they meant the Thais rock. Although by the time you need dynamite for Graystone Pass I would have thought you should already have the beast and be on to much tougher monsters than the Shadow Woods ones.

yes, but as you said, in version 2, it's very easy to miss the path down to Shadow Woods, where the beast, your first transfigurine, and the stick of dynamite can be found. You get out of the canoe and you see the entrance to Green Weed Plains. Many have not explored down the coastline at that point and are stuck when they go to enter Graystone Pass.
You have the benefit of having played the game once already, and you know there are good things there to be found ![]()

That was my point hehe, that new players might miss it whereas it was harder to miss in version 1.
Well I liked it more when you had a good reason to go there instead of feeling I was putting off the important message I was supposed to be delivering to randomly explore hehe.

yes, I know what you mean. A few people have asked about getting rid of those rocks. And even though I played version 1 a few times, when playing version 2, there have been times when I've forgotten to duck down and go through there. Last time I did Shadow Woods but totally forgot to stop in at the woodsman's hut as I was leaving, so from Graystone Pass I had to make the trek back JUST to get into that chest!

Well, I also played version for 3 times so I remember to go to Shadow Woods. If you don't wander south a bit you can't possibly see Shadow Wood and new players will completely miss the town...

Sounds like version 2 is better, can I upgrade from version 1 to version 2 or I'm stuck with what I have?

You can upgrade by downloading version 2 and installing it over the old version.
1. You must download version 2 from the same site that you downloaded version 1. If you got the game from here, the version currently available here is version 2. If you got the game from another site, you'll have to check there and see if they have version 2 available. 2. Version 1 saves will not work with version 2, so you'll have to start a new game when you upgrade.

Actually, Big Fish Games was the only other site that had version 1, and I'm pretty sure they have version 2 now. Any other sites have version 2.

I downloaded originally from Big Fish Games. When I redownloaded they had version 2.
