oh, so it's confirmed for November then? I'm not as huge a fan of the movies as the books. Then again, movies have a budget and they don't have 600 pages to do as the books do. They could split it like Deathly Hallows, I suppose, but there's not really much diff to me.

Hmm... well I hope they release a trailer soon. I wonder how Alan as Snape is going to look like in the scene, since Snape's face is usually fairly emotionless; that much of hatred and revulsion needed for him to do it is just gonna portray a side of Snape we've never seen on film before IMO.

The movie will be good, though its always a bit disapointing. I have lost my "potermania" though, mainly because finishing the last book sort of killed it. But I remember reading the early books and loving it. And about
"ron/lavender and harry/ginny" (I think you mean Hermione instead of laventer)...its going to be there whether anyone likes it or not.

Didn't like the latest movie: felt so choppy and rushed. Like they were confused on what should stay and what shouldn't. Than what they do have, they rush it all so it fits in the given time. Bad editing.

I'll be looking forward to the next one, though I'm in doubt of it's quality.

Yeah...the director of this one sure needs to use that last movie as a lesson...of what not to do. I was disapointed because so many critical parts were left out to make room for "relationship" scenes....sort of made the movie feel fake...if you know what I mean

I'm looking forward to the new movie. I wish there were more books though. I took a while reading book seven just because I knew once i'd finish it that would be the end. I'm looking forward to the relationship stuff and I look forward to seeing how the develop Snapes character as well. I'm also wondering how they are going to do the stuff with Fleur and Tonks since they really didn't develop those story lines that much in the last couple of movies. Do you guys think they will try to cram it in? or just leave out those stories? I look forward to seeing what the movie version of Slughorn looks like too.

This one is probably going to make me cry like a baby, even though i've read the books and know what's coming

As for them splitting the deathly hallows into two movies.. I'm glad they decided to do that. Maybe that way they will be able to leave in more. I wish they would have started doing that sooner though. Other books needed to be split into two movies or at least made into longer movies in my opinion.

I like the harry potter books and the movies. I just think they leave too many stuff out of the movies, so I'm usually disappointed with the movies. I still go see them anyways.

True, true. Movies from books aren't as good (usually) as the original book manuscript. Much content from books is cut out to fit movie length.

I watched the first four HP movies. (Never had a chance to see the fifth one. My friends told me that it was a bit disappointing?) Liked first three movies. Prisoner of Azkaban (don't know if I spelled that correctly-sometimes my spelling is bad) was my fave. Didn't like Goblet of Fire, though. Felt like too much was cut out from the version of the book.

I agree about the Goblet of Fire. My friends and I (at least the ones who read the book before) walked out feeling fortunate that we had, because it would had been very difficult to follow the movie without all the crucial details in the book that were axed.

The fifth movie was even worse. It felt like they paraphrase everything! I liked it more than Goblet because it felt more accurate with most of the details and the acting was better, but again, if you hadn't read the book you'd probably be lost.

I think they should have divided the movie starting from book four instead of until now with book 6. Then again, the actors would have probably gotten tired and quit already if they had to make 11 movies. XD

Well, I really like 1, 2, and 3. I'm excited about the upcoming film. Wonder what'll be called since it won't be all of the Half-Blooded Prince...

@ Dis the next movie come out is Harry Potter and the Half blood prince just like the book. That's the one coming out this year. They are only splitting the deahtly hallows book, and as far as I know it will be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallowes Part I and Part II. Part one will come out in 2010, and part two will come out in 2011. According to Yahoo movies that is.

I agree that a lot is cut out of the movies. I still enjoy them though. I think it's just a different take on everything and it's kind of cool to see the characters acted out. I feel like the first books covered most of the stuff in the books but once they made Prisoner of Azkaban they started leaving things out. I finally got my hubby to sit and watch all the movies that are out so far so he can go see the new one with me. He's not a reader though so he was confused about alot of things. Luckily I had read the books so i was able to explain them. He says that I save him the trouble of reading But I say he's missing out still.

Here's some movie stills I found for the upcoming movie. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Well as I've said movies don't have 600 pages to cram the whole story in, they only have 2 1/2 hours, and even if they split it (5 hours), I still don't think it would be enough. That's just the nature of a book-turned-movie. I'd just like to know how they're gonna justify Voldy's flying prowess when in OotP the Apparation was kinda like flying too.

I agree, I don't know which topic I said this in already but I don't really think that any movie can be as good as a book because everyone imagines what they are reading differently. That's the beauty of reading and using your imagination. So everyone is liable to be disappointed with one thing or another.

One of my RL friends complains about the movies and says he won't watch them because Voldemort is laughable. He's not scary enough, and too comic blah blah blah. But I think the movies are made for people of all ages so I don't really agree with him. And plus alot of bad guy characters in movies have weird quirky personalities. I think i'm getting off topic though, I just wanted to rant for a minute.

@lady: true, but that doesn't excuse bad editing/squishing/acting.

For example: another movie I had issues with due to bad editing (imo) was Eragon. I have never read the book before and knew nothing about beforehand except it had dragons (heck, i was under the impression that Eragon was the DRAGON's name XD). The editing though, jarred me: every 'transition' scene didn't flow. It was like one scene than BAM another scene with nothing inbetween.

Hairy Po oter is a commercially buffed, shallow book. And I tossed the days of reading it.

The movie gets exciting cos of the special effects tho.

It may be comercially buffer, but it was the fact that it was unique that made it possible to be that way. I can see where your opinion comes from though
