I start playing the game and after 15 min or so the arrow keys stop working and I can't move. I can reboot the computer and play for 15-20 min more and it happens again. Is there something I can do to keep the arrow keys working so I can continue to play.

I've played it for more than 15 to 20 minutes without such an error so... I know it's possible... which opens the expected round of questions... what version of Windows, and audio card drivers.

Perhaps your first stop should be to check to make sure your system is current... most problems of this nature are reported quite regularly to the various device vendors and so they actually do fix them (try not to gasp is surprise)... they even post them for free here:

I have XP media center service pk 2. NVidia Geforce 6150 LE sound, although sound isn't a problem I know drivers can act funny. I'm not going to fret too much. I've since found that if I quit the game for about 5 min, when I come back to it, it is fine. I really like the game, I started playing Aveyond from BFG and got hooked. Someone recommended this one and I like it too.

Keyboard problems can sometimes be fixed by playing with the Windows Compatibility settings. Try this:

1. Right click on the AP exe file and select Properties.

2. Then go to the Compatibility tab. It should look something like this:



3. Check the box to disable Advanced text Services or whatever your window says.

See if that helps. It has helped others.

Didn't help, still plays ok for awhile then one of the direction keys just stops working. It acts like one of the keys gets stuck and it keeps going that direction until I hit something and can't move at all.

Edit: I think I have it figured out........I have the computer hooked up with a KVM switch and the program doesn't like it. I connected the keyboard directly into the computer and played for over an hour, no problems.

This is a problem that started when I first installed aveyond 1, and when I installed aveyond 2 AFTER this problem occurred, aveyond 2 started to have the same problem..

The game currently thinks that I have the down arrow key pressed when I don't. This persists even when I reinstall. The bug occurred in the game, when I am walking around, and happens the moment the game loads, i.e. when I start, and get to the menu, it automatically moves to the last option. Please help.

I am sure that the key is not stuck, as I have even disconnected my keyboard, and the same thing happens.

That's happening to me too, exactly what you've described.

This problem appeared in Aveyond 2 while I was playing. I had Aveyond 1 installed but hadn't played it yet so I tried it, and the same problem appeared in Aveyond 1 as well. Both games think the down arrow key is pressed, but it isn't.

If someone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it, as I would like to play the game (and if I could keep my saved games, that would be nice too).

Turns out it was the connection that caused the problem, because I was using an old keyboard with a PS2/USB converter (after an incident involving coffee...) so when I switched back to my USB keyboard everything was fine. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I've got some keyboard problems in Aveyond 2. It already happened the second time so I thought I'd better tell you. It often happens, when I'm going to the land of lost. My character walks down without me pushing the down key. In the menus the down key doesn't work. Sometimes it's also the up key. It only happens after exiting the in game menu.

Dunno if you can help me. Sometimes it just gets good again without me doing anything.

In Aveyond 3
I'm having big problems with the controls; suddenly all controls stop working. The keybord arrows don't work anymore or only the up/down arrows work (including the arrows on the num.keypad). Trying to use the mouse instead will not even give me a cursor on the screen. All other keys work such as ESC.
What typically happens is that all of a sudden the character on the screen will walk only to the right and when she hits a wall/forest/cliff she will only move down. Or she simply stops moving altogether.
I tried changing the control keys in the F1 menu mentioned in the FAQ, but it doesn't give me alternatives for the arrow keys.(and I can't navigate in this menu since the arrow keys don't work...)
I have to exit the game and reboot my computer to fix the problem. I also had this problem in Aveyond 2, but there it was usually enough to just exit and re-enter the game. The two games are not on the same computer so it cannot be a hardware problem, also the arrow keys work fine in other programs.
Do you know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

I have all my updates in order, use windows Vista Home Premium, SP1. I have a USB keyboard and USB mouse.
What I did to, and that seems to work so far, was to right click on the exe.file and start the game as administrator.

I'm playing for my second time and have come across a major problem. This happened when I first played very early in the game and just unistalled it and reinstalled it and started over and was able to finish it off. I decided to play again because I didn't have the Soul quest completed. So here is the problem. I am stuck where my party can only go right. Maybe I hit a key that is causing this? I really don't know. Is there a patch - can anyone help?

I actually decided to start it up again...I did go to the website, but it was all so confusing. I'm not a computer buff and don't even know what executable files mean. If I run into another problem I will refer back to this post and have my husband look at it. Thanks
