I just downloaded AP for the first time from download.com. I installed it without any problems, but when I start the game the screen goes black and a few seconds latter my resolution get messed up. The resolution gets set so low that the start menu takes up 25% of the screen then nothing happens. The computer just sits there and it is impossible to terminate the game using task manager or anything else.
I have windows xp home sp2, nvidia 7600gs. any ideas how I can actually play this game? thanks

You can probably switch to Windowed mode and see if that helps. I am also wondering since it is a free game, why didn't you download it from this Amaranthia website?

I don't think that affects anything. Download.com is pretty reliable. But its always safer to come here.
