Oh, here's one:
I have Build A (of Rhen's Quest), so I don't have to finish the Assassination Quest, and so when I first walked in the caves, I was scared of the blue orcs, so I ran out of the caves and then, once I had to go to the caves, I didn't. XD I never completed that quest.

Oh, yeah. In AV3, when Te'ijal was asking for the password to go to leave Ghed-ahre, I din't pay attention to what the password was because I thought she'd just tell the skeleton what the password was and I get to continue with the game.
When was actually asked to type in the password, I had to restart the whole game. damn

Sadly, that was another mistake. You only have to go back to the vampress in Ghed'ahre, and she'll tell you the password again.

silly mistake I made is when I went to ghed'ahre, I just talk to those vampire and get killed 10 times I think...

I came from help here and read the fanfic at HBT. It was right so I thought it was a walkthrough. Then I thought, "where did these interactions come

At least it's not as bad as I was with fanfics-
I didn't know what they were, I thought they were just writings of the game through different character's eyes. So, whenever something wasn't canon, I was totally shocked. But I figured it out- it just took a while.

Another is, once I worked up the courage to go into the Thieves' Caves,(that's the correct name, right?) I thought they were the Sandstorm Caverns, or whatever they're called, so I kept looking for Tiny. I never did find her...

Not new, but i just figured out that spam haven doesn't give you gold? And that's pretty much where i post =/

I make too many mistakes....

Av1:

I talked to the kid in Witchwood that cursed you... Then I talked to him again... And again... I thought eventually one of them would do something different. I was mistaken. Then I didn't even bother to use the roots on the curse, I thought that curses were just a status symbol and it didn't actually do anything.

I used the trial from Yahoo! Games, and I ended up playing on 5 minute free trials through the game, then when I finally decided to buy it, I had already finished the game.

When the introduction came up, I kept jabbing the keys, because I thought I could move Talia or Agas. Then when the butterfly screen came up, I thought I could move that as well, so when I couldn't, I thought that it was not really a game, and it was a screensaver.

I wandered around fighting chickens and spiders to earn money for the Mule Express to Veldarah, but when I finally did I realized that you couldn't go unless you had already been there. Then I kept going to the world map, trying to find my way to Veldarah. I had to buy a map before I realized how to get there.

I thought there were only 4 save spots, I didn't realize you could scroll down to find more, so I ended up saving over lots of my files a lot.

Av2:

I had a walkthrough off the internet, but it was the walkthrough for a different build. So I went running around all over the place looking for all these things in the walkthrough.

In the ice caves where there's an old lady you can buy stuff off, I bought an Ice Ring for 500, then I walked outside and I saw a chest with another Ice ring in it. So then I tried to sell it back to the lady, after which I realized that I could only sell it for half price. Then I bought it back again for another 500.

Av3:

I wasn't paying attention to the underworld password, so I didn't know what to type in. Then I went back to the vampress and got it again.

OoOHHHH! Okay, so I was really far into the game and I was on an Isle and forgot where I put my boat - totally freaked out and was afraid I would have to restart the game because I couldn't find my boat anywhere!!!!!!

I too always forget to save

Fortunately, AV2, AV3, and Build C of AV1 have autosave.

Yes, that's really a big help, because saving the game is very hard to remember even if you're in a tough situation

I believe I was playing Rhen's quest and I was looking like mad for Thais, because I thought it would be the same place it was in Ean's quest. (I played them in backwards order)
So I was trying and trying to get to what I thought was unreachable Thais (actually Sedona) and I thought maybe I need the dragon to get there so I spent the next hour progressing the game to get the dragon, and flew to "Thais" and realized there was no place to land. Then, in my frustration I just started flying around everywhere, went a little too far east and came upon a small Island that had a little castle on it. Sure enough, I found good 'ol Thais.

I totally agree, the autosave thing is truly amazing. Especially for someone who rushes with decisions XD

Ahh, yesh. I have the *bad* habit of going up ahead things in RPGs before I train. That is, I found myslef in (*drums*) "The Mysterious Land of Aveyond" (We're talkin' about Av1) and I could not defeat the bees because I was too low in level. I only found my way up there by running away from everything that was considered a threat XD. But I must say that when I found myself surrounded by bees I did not have a chance. XD I guess that it's the game programmer's way to say "Haha, now told ya you hafta train before going around where you don't belong yet" lol.

And the same happened to av2, (I was a beta tester, so I got to play build A) and as some may know, build A was first leading Ean to Ravenwood and only after that to Ryva, and eventually, to Shaelnir. XD well, I just wanted to see the frozen city and as I did before, I dodged all the monsters (I had a hard time with the crows and the ice birds lol) and eventually ended up in Shaelnir, without having any training XP. I am such an impatient person... lawl

My biggest mistake, as with many others it seems, is forgetting to save. I am a big RPG fan and I get really into the Aveyond series. I think I kicked myself in the arse numerous times before the wonderful version 2 of Ean's quest auto save feature.

THEN, when I started to play Ean's Quest I would get mad when I died cause I knew my last save was forever ago and I would forget it had an auto save feature.

My mistake is i don't realized myself that I'm not changing equipment.In other words, i don't know to select the best equipment. i just don't get it by strength, agility and rather choose randomly any equipment..but, i realize it at second try. i feel so silly..

@crc: I know how you feel. though I find AV wasn't that bad in the saving department. Compared to a game like Alice (egads! Died so many times in that game. and it was only on medium mode DX) or AP (dang crashing ghosting menace), AV is very...forgiving generally.

@intan: lol. was AV your first rpg? Oo?

Aveyond 1 was my first RPG too... And probably the only, because much as I want to play AV3, my stupid computer kept on saying it's a virus and refuses to let me download it.

I used goodies for my first game, hence was not been able to enjoy the game at its normal difficulty

it's a 3rd person rpg. Easy mode is ridiculously easy. Medium hits it up a noch. Scared of nightmare mode.
