Wii Remotes are compatible with the Wii U, so there should definitely be backwards compatibility. I'm not sure that there's no point to getting a Wii now, though; the Wii U probably won't launch until next October/November, and the Wii's cheaper now than it's ever been. I bet you could find it for a hundred dollars if you looked hard enough. Plus, the Wii U won't be backwards compatible with Gamecube games (of course, if you own a Gamecube that's not a problem).

Anyway, I really hope the Wii U has a good game lineup at launch. 3DS had no interesting games when it came out. The Gamecube launch also lacked core franchise games. I'm worried that the Wii U will follow in those unfortunate footsteps. Zelda and Mario, the two biggest franchises in Nintendo, won't have games at launch. Neither will Super Smash Bros., Kirby, or Donkey Kong. Metroid MIGHT, but besides that, there doesn't seem to be any real possibility for launch games. I know I won't be buying it without a really compelling game.

Dragon Age Elves are very different from the traditional elves where humans worship the ground you walk on (hi Lord of the Rings).

DA!Elf back history Nutshell:
DA!elves used to be great and immortal. But than humans conquered and enslaved them for several hundreds of years. DA!Elves lost their immortality, their culture, and most of their language during this time. They eventually rebelled against their human lords, gained freedom, and got some nice land. Than they got conquered again by the humans, lost their land, and now wander the land in differnt clan groups or live in concentration camps in cities called alienages. In the alienages, you're treated like second class citizens barely one step above slaves, and clans are generally treated with hostility and suspicion.

Overall, it's really sucky to be a DA!elf lol.

@Binas-chan - Which folder are you talking about? I can't find it anywhere in my game's folder, be a bit specific that where'll I find it.

I have a wired Xbox 360 controller (it's not an official microsoft one x360 key usb x360key e3 card , pretty much a generic version) that can connect to a USB port. It does work for some other games on my computer but I haven't tried the 360 controller yet for BF3 specifically. Will it automatically work once I play with it or will I have change settings with it in order to get it to work?

I keep hearing about how amazing MineCraft is. Is it really that great? I've seen gameplay of Terraria, and that honestly looks better to me..any opinions on which is better?

I will begin this thread with an apology. I am totally new to this RPG world, and therefore, also to this site. Feel free to move or delete this thread, or point me to where I should post it.

The first RPG i played was Millennium: A New Hope, at Big Fish Games and then I was stuck. Really loved it. Downloaded and played Millennium 2: Take me Higher as soon as I finnished the first one. Couldn't believe what I had missed all these years. Then I played 3 stars of Destiny, which I also thought was pretty good, but not as good as Millennium. Did an RPG search on Big Fish and found the Aveyond series. Played them all. Loved them. But (I hope you won't hate me now), still didn't think it was as good as Millennium, which I felt was much "faster" than Aveyond. And I almost burst into tears when I, late in the game, found out that Edward wouldn't be able to marry Mel just because I bought the stupid rotten flowers for her. Still loved the game though!

Anyways, the Aveyond games led me to this site, and now I need your help. Where will I go next? I love the "speed" in Millennium, but I really want to wait for the 5th one before I buy them so I can play them without a break. So what should I play in the meantime? What's your recommendation?

mass effect, dragon age, vampire the masquerade bloodlines

what league? Mass Effect and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines are very newbie friendly.

Dragon Age takes a bit longer to get used to it's doable.

If I had to pick one game to play out of all of them, I'd choose Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. The dialog, storyline, characters, environment, music, etc. are just perfect for the game. Even the graphics not so bad.

I was thinking more like "Eternal Eden VS Laxius Force VS Lilly and Sasha", but I promise I will sleep on it!

Honestly, I haven't found any PC RPG Maker games that have been as good as Aveyond. Eternal Eden is actually really good and better than most. But I've found my biggest problem is in the punctuation, spelling, and grammar of these kinds of games. As fun as they might be, these errors are unprofessional and obnoxious. Syntax is important!

So I have a question as well: does anyone know of any Aveyond-style games that don't ignore the rules of our language completely?

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time looks sort of like AV but is leagues ahead of it. I also like Summon Story 1 (ONE not two.) and Grandia 2.

Well, that's the thing. I don't really play RPG Maker games aside from Aveyond, and that's because I find Aveyond so much better than any others. The series is, in my opinion, the best RPG Maker will ever do. It's perfection in its genre. If I could find that in any other genre, I doubt I'd ever play another game of its type again. There are obviously better games than Aveyond, but not in the 2D RPG genre, in my opinion. As far as I've seen.

@HennesSyster: Why not try some other games from Aldorlea then? There's Dreamscape, Asguaard and the Laxius series (though those are pretty hard and a follow up to 3 stars of Destiny.)
And both Sylia and Ella's Hope were collabs with other game producers.

Anyways, why not try Dark Eternal Dissolution? Just like Aveyond, and probably, even better.
