A thread to discuss Wildhollow.

I was able to beta test this game and I really enjoyed it. The humor in the game is great and it was a nice balance of doing quests, taking care of the animals, and various mini games to collect food.

I love the game, very funny, nice art and relaxing music. But I can't find the dwarf axe x') I think I've tried everything, but apparently I must've forgotten something. Anyone's got a clue?

I've still got the dwarf axe to solve, but right now I'm concentrating on breeding random animals to the wild beasts in order to...erm...well, if you've gotten that far, you'll know why.

This is a fun game. The humor is, well, humorous and I love the free-flowing style.

One thing that bugs me is that I have to talk to that stupid dwarf every single time I want to buy a pack of meat. The store doesn't stay "up" once you make a purchase. It's annoying, but not a game-ruining experience.

buying meat in 10-packs gets around that ... a little.

I think the axe is in a fishing hole somewhere. I think you've got to buy the expensive lure to get it.

Someone asked me about the wild man, and I can't remember the exact sequence of events here. I THOUGHT once I tried to speak to him, I just went back to the dwarf town and talked to the mage, and I was able to ask him if he spoke that language (elk?). The player says he talks to the mage, but he only says he knows how to talk to animals, and that he can't ask him about the languages. I'd have to start a new game to get to that point. Does anyone know what you have to do to get him to teach you the language?

You have to find the broken horn and then give that to the dwarf who is not the artist, he'll tell you it's an elk horn, then talk to the wizard and he'll teach you elk

now I can't figure out how to get toilet paper for him, it's probably something stupidly obvious

and what do i give the artist for the beard

I'm doing this from memory, so hopefully, I have this correct and I'm keeping it a little vague so I don't spoil too much.

If you've made it to Tawyn City (it's the last location that you unlock), you'll find a place with toilet paper; however, the character won't let you have it. Once you find that character, you'll have to go talk to another character that you've already met that looks a lot like him. You'll learn a secret that will help you get the toilet paper.

If I remember correctly, the artist wants a type of red meat (not the meat that you can buy). You need to buy a special lure so you can catch something that is red.

To join the adventurer's guild (which you need to do in order to get - and keep - that toilet paper), you need to go back and find the two adventurers, and blackmail them into giving you a recommendation. Then you need a lot of money (I can't remember what the guy back home - his brother - says, but I recall I spoke to him as well. I'm just not sure what he said, or if I really needed to talk to him - I spent a bit of time trying to get that toilet paper )

The dwarf axe is rather difficult to find I finished the game with that quest still in there.

i looked in Tranquil Lake and every lake, i still don't find it.

Excerpt from the walkthrough :

While you're breeding your animals to buy the lure, continue with the quest to find Ceres's axe. The dwarf guarding the door in Stenheim tells you that the dwarf in Tawyn City lost it in a lake somewhere. Go back to the Tranquil Pond and click on the lake in the distance. You will fish out the axe there. Take it back to the dwarf guard at the mansion in Tawyn City (quest complete).
