does anyone notice that the character movement in aveyond makes the screen seems run in low memory ? the screen moving so slow and a bit blur so hurting my eyes. .... first i thought my computer is low on memory requirement... but when i tried on another computer (3GB RAM, 1GB video card, DUAL CORE) it still experienced the same problem....

does aveyond's developer or anybody got any solution for this problem ?

i tried to check or unchecked the "reduce flicker" and "make smoother" option in F1 function.. but no significant result..

Go into your game options and turn off Environmental Effects. This will stop things like weather and the little "nature" creatures (birds, squirrels, etc) that run around on the maps, and possibly give you a little better performance.

hmm... the game option is only consist of:
- change window to fullscreen
- turn on/off music
- resetting keyboard
- optimize performance (F1 function - reduce screen flickering and smoothing)
- tutorial...

i tried all of that already and give no significant result... i also already update my directX drivers and still no result... i play aveyond 5, drunken paladins, also experienced same problem... any idea ?

What game are you playing? That might have been an option that was introduced in some of the later ones.

I would suggest checking what other programs you have running at the same time - antivirus programs often do system scans in the background that can cause other programs to slow down (of course, only graphics programs that were constantly updating the screen would LOOK like they were slowing down). Depending on how much stuff you download, you could also have a heap of unnecessary stuff that launches with system startup and sits in the background waiting for something to happen - a lot of these probably aren't necessary.

hmm... i already disable all active program, exit all unnecessary program also.... antivirus is also disable. i am playing all aveyond series and encountered same problem... when i move my character scroll from left to right or up and down, the character move like matrix movie, only the character graphics is sharp the picture at back is moving blurry... a bit blur infact but still hurting eyes.

i play aveyond 1, 3,5 and drunken paladin, all experienced the same thing... maybe its because the screen frame rate issue from developer ? i use 800 x 600 resolution or more than 1024 res still encountered same problem... what should i do ?

It sounds like this person may be sensitive to using an LCD panel as the main display for their computer coupled with the low frame rate from the Aveyond series of games.

It's rare, but some people, looking at moving images on an LCD screen with a frame rate less than 60 FPS, actually develop severe eyestrain. Their eyes can't properly compensate for the "smearing" effect that occurs when the character moves relative to the static background, with the effect being more pronounced in the horizontal plane.

My best suggestion would be to play the game on a CRT monitor if you can. Since CRT's operate on a completely different type of rendering technology the strain caused by the "smearing" effect should disappear or be severely reduced in intensity.
