Hi, I downloaded the game from the website, and unzipped the files when prompted, but when I try to run the game, it gives me the following error:

"Internal error has occurred, if problem persists, contact Chris Jones, AC1 version 2.40.265, error: roomstruct;;allocall:out of memory"

It sounds like a cool game, I would love it try it! Any suggestions? thanks!

Interesting... my first bit of advice would be to try another shot at downloading... it sounds like something is incomplete.

If that doesn't work... let us know a bit about your system... what Windows version is it, what version of DirectX is installed, and how much memory is installed.

It sounds like an initialization problem... but we can take care of it...

thanks so much! I have tried to download it several times, each time without sucess, with or without unzipping files, trying the win file or ACS (i think?) file. I have downloaded and played Aveyond, Aveyond 2, Ariman's Proph and many other games, so I can't imagine it's my system but there's the info - any ideas you have I would appreciate!!

I am running Windows XP, version 2002, 512 ram, 29.5 GB free space, and sorry, I don't know how to tell which version of direct x I am running...I'm a bit "a duh" with technical stuff...sorry...


ok, still more interesting...I saved it to my desktop this time and got it to open and start running - got thru credits up to sound effects when it gave me an error message: "Gaea_Fallen.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvienience. Please tell Microsoft...blah blah...error reporting..."

myabe it IS my system...I will try to defrag and reboot...

While running Defrag is a good idea, it's most certainly not the problem here.

I would start with a visit to Windows Update... there have been many updates (free too ) since 2002.

I am having the same problem and have tried on two different computers with no luck. I wish there were more games like Aveyond. I need another great story with challenge to it.

I'm not sure if this will help, but Gaea Fallen is a pretty old game and newer computers can have trouble getting it to run properly.

Some possible solutions are to play with the Compatibility settings of the exe file (change it to something like Windows98 ). Also, lowering your desktop resolution as low as it will go and setting the colors to 256 can help.

what do you mean "exe file?" How do you do that exactly?? step-by-step directions would help

In your Gaea_Fallen folder, there is a Gaea_Fallen.exe

This is the file you open to play the game.

1. Right click on this file and select "Properties" at the bottom of the list that appears. A new window will open with "Gaea_Fallen.exe Properties" at the top.

2. Click on the Compatibility tab near the top and your window should look like this:




3. Check the box in Compatibility Mode and select Windows 95 or Windows 98 from the drag down box.

4. Also try checking the boxes in Display Settings that say "run in 256 colors" and "run in 640x480 screen resolution".

Then click OK and try running the game again.

Hi guys, I have a problem in opening Gaea Fallen. When I tried to open it by clicking it twice, it says an internal error has occured. The error is unable to load the room file'intro'.crm Can you help me?

i had that to when i restarted my comp it was oke again did you try that already when try to cklick right and then put it as adminisor

Every time I try to open the game, the file doesn't work. I get a message saying that an internal error occurred:

This game used to work on my old laptop, is it not XP compatible...? All the other AGS stuff I have works fine under XP.

Gaea Fallen is a lot more touchy than the other games, since it's pretty old.

Try playing with the Compatibility settings of the game.

Right click on the Gaea Fallen exe file and select Properties. Then go to the Compatibility tab and choose Windows98 or Windows95. Also, check the boxes to play the game in 640x480 and 256 colors.

See if that works.

Will that also work with Vista?

I'm not sure if anyone has tried GF on Vista. You could try and let us know.

I had already tried but it's just the same. Maybe that's because I'm not using Windows 95. I'm using Windows XP

I'm using Windows XP and it worked fine for me. Maybe you should try re-downloading it?
