I was thinking that the Aveyond series, especially Lord of Twilight to Darkthrop Prophecy, would be a great book series. I have actually started writing, and I was wondering what would be expected in a book series of Aveyond.

Hmmm... I don't know. I guess more on the thoughts of the characters, etc, then we get in game.
Of course, the book series would have to be written by Amanda, otherwise it would just be a lengthy, though likely awesome, fanfic.

Would it have to be writen by the creator? I don't really think it matters as long as it is well written.

It would. I'm pretty sure any story written by someone other then the creator about it would be a work of fanfiction. That is, unless you could talk to the creator about it and convince them to let you publish it or something. Then it would likely count.

Not really. As far as I know, movie novelizations aren't written by the movie script-writers or producers. The writers probably are hired by the producers, though.
It may or may not be a good thing to novelize AV3. The writer will have to tie in messed up plot points from TLO and TDP with LOT and GON. See, the first two are very coherent because they're one game that got split into two chapters, but the later two chapters... are sort of filled with plot points that came out of the blue without tie-ins to stuff from previous chapters. Plus, it wouldn't go with a lot of people anyway. The fun thing about Aveyond is the multiple ending choices. In novels you can't do that! For example, the canon final pairing of AV3 is Edward/Stella. Then the romantic interaction should lean more toward Edward-Stella. Problem arises because TLO's default wedding is Mel, implying that Edward's initial choice is Mel. Added with the fact that Stella isn't in the party during TLO... It's kinda hard to make sense of the situation. Methinks anyone interested in novelizing Aveyond needs to have a very VERY long and detailed interview with Amanda first ![]()

Book series of the games sounds really fun. BUT. Even though the story is very great in itself in an RPG game, well... to appeal to an audience that haven't even played the game yet; the execution should match the story itself.
Just like what d_a said, the story points of the games are pretty... messy. It would be pretty hard to novelize that. Messy-storylined games are hard to novelize. Adding to the fact the length of the story, how the events would be explained, and the most important, the quality of the final story. I'll give an example for that. If anybody have ever played the first game of the Fantasia game, there's somebody who novelized it. Well, Fantasia and Aveyond are pretty different, since that Fantasia is a visual novel. But they BOTH have a canon/official storyline, even though both seems like they have branching storylines. Going back to the example, the writer added some points. Like this scene where the protagonist meets one of the guys. The writer added a part where the protagonist went to a dress shop to walk around, then meets the guy, rather than the guy going to the girl's place. I hope I didn't explain it too confusingly, but I hope you get my idea. XD So that means, to make a good novel out of Aveyond, the writer has to change, add or delete some major/minor points in the storyline to make a very smooth yet alluring novel. ^^ Well, not modifying the story completely to the point it's not Aveyond anymore, though XD If there's a writer willing, they have to ask permission to Amanda though. XD Dunno if she'll agree. ![]()

To be honest, if they make a book about one of the games, I don't think I would read that. It would be hard to come up with something new in the story or to be creative.
If there was a book about new characters, but in the world of Aia, I think I would read it ![]()
