Hi. I downloaded Build B for the Darkthrop Prophecy. It told me that it might be a good idea to uninstall Build A before installing Build B. Can I do that and still retain my saved games?

Yes. The data save would be there.
but please check whether it works with you pc or not by loading the data save from each build to make sure of it.

It's a good idea not to use your Build A saved game with Build B if you can help it, since some things might've been changed. My advice would be to finish playing Build A (if you want to), uninstall Build A, install Build B, and play.

Actually I think it's okay - I don't recall any major changes that were made that would cause the game to go astray with an earlier save file.

I kept same save file.. game kept going. In fact I don't think I even un-installed Build A. I had Build A, then the patch, then Build B and everything worked fine.

There were basically bug fixes, and how you get the treasure key.

ok, that answers one of my questions, as I never uninstalled build A before installing build B, and it still never let me into the weapons shop in Ghed'hare. I'll try that, thanks!

There was no change to Ghed'ahre in build B, as far as I remember.

no, no, when I played the game originally, it wouldn't let me into the weapons shop, so it might have been a bug in the build A that I downloaded from here. So I'm going to try uninstalling my copy of the game and re-installing it.

That wasn't a bug. Some of the shops are blocked off.

Was there ever a weapons shop in Ghed'ahre that you could access? I know you could buy armor there, but I think that's now the trick or treat shop.

I think there might of have been, or it was the person who sold the armor had a few weapons.

Mel can't even GET to Ghed'ahre in TDP.There is nothing about the shops in Ghed'ahre that depends on the players. If you are in Ghed'ahre and you can't enter a shop, there's no change that you can do with your party that will make a difference. The shop on the right, just before you leave the city, USED to sell armor in previous games. That's now changed to the trick or treat shop. Herb, the owner of the trick or treat shop, USED to have a coffin shop above the inn. There is no armor or weapon shop in Ghed'ahre in TDP. This is not a bug. It's intentional.
