@d_a: I suppose that is true, and so the rest of them are enigmas as well. Although I would definitely say that Rhen, Iya, Ean, and a couple of the others are so one-dimensional that I wouldn't say that there's much there TO understand (archetypes never work out completely).

I'd argue that Rhen is not so much an archetype as she is a blank slate. She's not a stereotype, but she has too little going on that we, subconsciously or consciously, fill in those blanks with whatever the heck we want. Though I'd have to give AV1 and AV2 characters credit for being consistent. Av3 characters suffer terrible character and personality shift because of what the plot demands them to. Edward becomes a snippy angry guy, Stella is more flat than ever, Te'ijal complains all the time, Galahad is still flat too, and Mel is dumb.

Poor Gy suffers the most from the character derailment because the team forgot what exactly is he up to, so as per TDP everything goes right out the window and that is why it's a mess. Cool factor characters are good enough diversion to cover for the fail, but still. Seriously, the villain has to make sense for the story to make sense because without an antagonist, there is no story. Gy initially had a sensible goal. As far as I understand, what he wants is a vampire revolution, not ruling the world on his own. Like I said in the Questionable Moments thread, we'd probably arrange for a revolt too if the world is ruled by talking chickens. In TLO he just wants revenge on Mel, which failed and sucked. It's just a minor problem to re-introduce the Darkthrop Prophecy as a new problem, and then by TDP Gyendal is not at all important. This sudden shift is what made the story break apart.

And we're getting off-topic. For the record, I don't hate AV3. I dislike its inconsistencies, but I like the series in general.

I honestly believe here's NOTHING to speculate here because really, I don't think it would have anything to do with any previous Aveyonds beyond some brief history to characters or places.

I really love Aveyond, but it would be better if it will be like Final Fantasy VI, with battle animations, an unique leveling system and a longer story.

There are battle animations, although the characters themselves do not move. I'm not sure what you mean by "unique leveling system," but the way that characters gain skills is pretty unusual overall. I agree on the longer story, however; of course I want the games to be longer!

I mean a leveling system like in Final Fantasy X.

Um, the AV3 chapters are only out so fast because they're short chapters. Seeing that between Aveyonds there's 1-2 year gap, there's no way Aveyond 4 will be out THAT soon.

Well, it's already been nine months since the last one, so the idea that another nine months will bring us another one isn't too far-fetched. It will probably be longer than that, but it's still a reasonable estimate when you look at the previous releases.

Well, I guess. The thing's still in planning stages, as far as I know, what with the team busy with Curse at Twilight and all that.

I'm positive that the next Aveyond will be out in chapters again, so we'll just see how big of a chapter the first one would be.

No, I'm not an insider-informant as far as AV4 is concerned. I didn't shoehorn myself in soon enough, LOL Let's see if we can pester the team enough to have them leave facesets out in the open again this time around. I suspect that I would not like at least one the facesets and I want to be able to change them, dangit

I think they're planning to release Aveyond 4 in chapters too. As far as I know, they're planning something big, so it'll probably be a kind of series as well.

I just hope it's planned more smoothly than 3. Since 3 was originally one big game ending in GON, then they suddenly decided to make it 6 chapters, then cut it to 5 then finally 4, the story is rather messed up. AND THEN they ret-conned so many stuff in TLO and TDP that the story makes no sense. I can make all sorts of nonsense story to explain plotholes and they WOULD still follow proper continuity.

And things hopefully makes sense and not cut short due to insufficient time. Example: I heard that the attraction points with Spook WAS supposed to mean something, but they were hurrying to release TLO that they just made it not matter. Seriously, It's better to delay the release rather than have the plot or gameplay be compromised >.<

So I was missing playing with my fav characters (playing the previous games isnt the same cause you know wats going to happen) n i was wondering, maybe in av4 some major evil villain can reunite all the old villains and/or get some new ones, break the sword of shadows n stuff,
n all the old heroes (ie rhen, lars,<i miss their interaction > etc) have to be brought back from wherever they go to after they die to fight them. There was a place like that in av2 where you get to see teijal and galahad. That way we can get all our fav characters together

I really wish that Nox and Uma will reappear.

@Moonja: Oooh, that should TOTALLY be a cameo. Like, they really should have a Kingdom Amaranthia in the game and all the citizens are us Amaranthians and in one event the party attended the royal wedding!!

As you know, Amaranthians have historically played roles in Aveyond games... and as for our wedding in the next game... well, it's not written in yet... but perhaps we'll just have to work it in somehow (thanks for the idea MoonPrincess... perhaps you can play the role of the minister)
