When Te'ijal said Eddie cannot survive the portal, she followed it with "Only evil can leave Demon Realm unharmed". There's nothing said about any harm befalling anyone going IN. I'm sure Gyendal is evil enough to be okay =__=

Amanda mentioning possibilities of him returning is not helping the speculations. Unless she changed the rules or that we're not understanding stuff properly, if she even CONSIDERED the possibility probably means he ain't dead yet in her mind.

@Emma: We haven't ever had Gyendal in our party as himself. That counts as new. We've had Tei-tei in our party twice (four if you count each chapter of AV3 as separate games). Also because I'm a biased Gyendal fangirl who wants to see his face CANON'D-STYLE. Coz if he's in the party he HAS to have a face. Maybe I should hunt the faceset artist and bug him/her to draw me Gyendal.

@D_a: because darkthrop was "the one" as far as the demons are concerned. Prophecy and all. So something in the blood must be allowing them (ie entire family) to enter and go at free will.

Cuz you gotta admit: Uma is about the antithesis of evil from what we've seen. Always trying to reign in her more mischief sister and all. And while Mel is not 'goodie two shoes' good, she ain't evil which would mean she should have been fried when she entered.

As for the evil comment: I could have sworn it was humans specific rather than evil. But eh, I don't feel like loading it up or checking with rmxp so I'll take your word for it.

In my understanding when Te'ijal said that stuff about evil is that humans cannot survive the portal unless they're evil. Gyendal = evil human --> he should be fine.

If that's true, than why was mel fine? She's not evil. And if we're running under the assumption she's human it breaks the barrier bit even further.

Te'ijal said "LEAVE Demon Realm unharmed". Mel left the Realm tainted and evil.

My understanding was that entering the realm has no side effects. It's the exit that is problematic.

And Uma and Nox totally don't count because, to quote Amanda, "they're not really there". They're probably some kind of magic holograms or whatever, HP system in the game battles be damned

Have to agree with d_a there. The problem is only EVIL can leave the demon realm unharmed; there's no such embargo on entering.

Though it does beg the question of why, when they know Mel will have to be evil to return to the Mortal Realm, they insisted on sending someone at least equally evil to go rescue her from the Demon Realm XD cuz by definition, no evil, no talk, else bodily harm will be inflicted upon your exit. it's not like the demon realm has a barter system in which Mel's non-evil + Tei/Galahad's evil / 2 = both are half-evil = both can leave safely. lol.

It was the Staff of Destiny that made her evil.

He'll probably turn even worse. Coz the demon inside the staff supposedly possessed/influenced the wielder. Gyendal would probably go more whacky-insane than he already is

I know the Staff made her evil. What i want to know is how in the holy name of pudding is she supposed to leave the demon realm without bodily harm if she left the staff in the demon realm like stella told galahad to tell her, hence not becoming evil enough to leave the realm.

Well, I'm thinking that, had she not had the staff with her, she wouldn't have been able to leave... I think. Not sure though.

The Shadow Oracle knew that the staff would corrupt her and that is why she told Mel to go and get it (Shadow Oracle was helping Mordred)

KTC, Galahad not being evil is why he became evil after demon realm. even the oracle remarked on it. an "interesting case" she called him.

Though Galahad being a vamp probably means if he had exited earlier he'd be fine. He was dandy until he came in contact with Mel if I recall anything though at this point, my memory of the games are shotty as can be seen.

Anyhow, Galahad was seriously overcompensating when the 'evil' thing took over.

So demon realm corrupts you until you're egomaniac "must conquer world!" evil like Gyendal/Evil!Mel....Does that mean Teijal, if she got vamped instead, would have became even more evil and joined Mel? Since apparently she's evil (going by her immediate skin change when she got turned).

Exactly! Up till Mel getting the Staff of Destiny, she was still "maybe I can help you with your problem"ish, that's not considered evil. So it's the staff more than the demon realm turning people evil, says I.
