Fire does not work on every dog. Kicking is the best solution. That said, I retract my earlier statement that he could have kicked it in fear. I'm scared of dogs and can't go within 10 miles of one without running away. Childhood trauma xD

An, give it a rest. We know it was a puppy. You've stated that numerous times already. Puppies are dogs, just younger ones.

Not all puppies are afraid of fire. Kicking a puppy isn't that bad. I repeat what I said earlier, the only way kicking a puppy or a dog is inhumane is when you kick it with excessive force. Dogs and puppies respond to pain. They'll avoid something if it causes them pain. They aren't always afraid of loud noise or fire. Like Ashen said, not every dog is afraid of the same thing. Sometimes force is the only way to get a dog to leave.

Okay, then yes, that would be excessive force. That was wrong of him. But kicking a dog in general isn't so bad.

i hope the puppy wasnt hurt! too bad i had my fair share at bad behavior. let see, i for one aruge with my sis almost 24/7. the last one involed a load of poop such as she where wishing me or her was dead. i know it was really bad. and i told mom and she took care of it.

The whole point is to try to tell you that kicking dogs/young dogs is not wrong. It might a bad thing, but that's how it works.

Let's see. I was 4 years old in KG 2. I was standing at the bus stop when a PUPPY growled at me and showed its small teeth. I stood there but then it just jumped at me. I ran round and round as it chased me and then jumped on the bus when it came. I shudder to think how long I would have run if the bus had not shown up then
Then 4 years later, I was confronted by a big dog. I was scared and went in the opposite direction and it followed me. I ran home and it ran after me

Since then, I just avoid any place where I see a dog. I'm not super-scared of it now but I still go about a long way home because otherwise I'd see a dog

Theone is right. If you're only posting to get support, then clearly you should quit. Everyone is in agreement that kicking a dog/puppy isn't bad as long as it that bad. You're not changing anyone's idea, especially since you're saying the same thing over again. If you want to continue, then do more to change minds and not just say the same thing over and over again.

That's rather unfortunate. And I'm sorry you went through that. You still shouldn't generalize all dogs on those two experiences though, especially if they were strays (which I assume they were). They can be some really friendly dogs. The same as with people, there can be friendly people and mean people.

@ Theone - Hey, I know ... Lots of times it has happened at the places near my house .. I can totally understand it was Horrifying! And I don't mean to say - "YOU HAVE TO AGREE WITH ME!" No, You don't! Everybody has their own opinions .... So I don't think I would have been scared of dogs If it would have happened to me! I was actually bitten once ... But still, Whenever I find a Stray dog I'll get off the car and pet him/her! I love dogs! They are really awesome creatures! But hey, I don't want to MAKE YOU, Like - "YOU WILL HAVE TO LIKE DOGS!" @ Mopiece - Hey, I Didn't mean that I meant I have my own views, I actually started this thread to ask people how they feel, Well I Have Kicked Lucky once But heres how it went - I kicked him, (not too hard, I kicked him as he had chewed up my school bag ....) So, I Didn't do it hard like he went flying or anything like that - I just gave him a little PUSH with my foot... I didn't mean to make him hurt or anything .... I Was myself Sad after that! I hate myself to did such a thing before .. But now, I think The Baker KICKED HIM TOO HARD! He could have given a lighter kick... He didn't have to Kick him soo hard to make him go flying. Did he? No! He just wanted to show off, as far as I suppose... He could have given a lighter kick if he really wanted to shoo him off.. If he was scared he could have just Thrown Stones at the puppy... And there was actually nobody ... Outside the shop except me .. Who was far than the dog! So it couldn't have mattered ... Now tell me what do you think?

What I think is that there must be a reason for a kick. You're telling me the baker kicked a dog for no good reason?

I've already said that he didn't need to kick the dog so hard. I doubt he wanted to show off. He wanted to get the dog away from the shop. He may not of realized how hard he was kicking the dog.

You said show off. Earlier, you said no one was there. Sincerely doubt he was trying to show off to a 10 year old girl. Thus, showing off is not a valid reason

@An: I'm having a hard time believing this wasn't suppose to be a 'Agree with my position!' soapbox thread.

Every time there's a doubter/skeptic/someone who disagree with your opinion, you go on the defensive with 'but he was a puppy! how can you do that to a puppy?!'. And than more detail/speculation comes out that look like they are aimed to make the dog even more pathetic and the baker more evil.
