With all of the bad fantasy novels getting published these days (and then SUCCEEDING!), it almost feels useless to bother writing one that's any good. Mightn't it be more productive for us to write a bad one? So let's see WHO can write the BEST worst fantasy story on Amaranthia!

Rules

The story must be at least 3,000 words. (This is about six pages of twelve-point, single spaced Times New Roman font.)

Follow at least five of the main points and five of the side points at this link. More is better.

It's probably best to confuse verb tense and mix up points of view. HOWEVER, no grammatical or punctuational errors; we want people to be able to understand what you're writing.

Try to tell us how the character is saying something as often as possible (i.e. "You hate me!" she accused, feeling hated, or "I love you so much I could cry," he said lovingly"). It's productive to use the word ironically as well ("You look bad in purple," she said ironically). Avoid the word "said" as MUCH AS POSSIBLE as it could make your dialogue feel natural.

If the story is somehow becoming genuinely interesting or good, then immediately introduce a WIZARD. It should help your problem.

Remember, even though you are purposefully writing something BAD, it is still meant to entertain us.

When wizards shoot blasts of magic at each other the Good Wizard's fire is always blue, and Bad Wizard' is always green or red.

@KTC: I suppose it is rather long.... But I wouldn't say it's all that cruel. Writing BAD stuff is extremely easy and pretty fun, actually. I might change the word limit, though.

im brain dead right now after jst coming home fom Buddy Ball (a disablilty leauge). i don't think i can come up with a terible one. is there a limit of viewer descrestion? you know like E for everyone, PG, PG-13+, and Rated R? What rating should be made because terrible meas someone is going to guzzle 10 gallons of water and write a terrible story on his needing to pee (deffinetly E10+-PG13+)!

Question- are we supposed to stick to 'traditional' fantasy (like High fantasy/Heroic fantasy), or is urban fantasy/historical fantasy/magic realism all right?

AM rules still apply, which means it couldn't contain anything above PG-13.

Okay, I've got a question. We're supposed to write at least 3000 words, or about six pages. Well, is there a limit on the maximum? I doubt anyone's going to want to read 25 pages of bad fiction, no matter how awesomely bad it might be.

There's no specific limit, so if you do want to write twenty-five pages of it then you're absolutely welcome. But yeah, nobody is likely to read it, and I would recommend staying within about 6,000 words at maximum.

@Ashen: Urban fantasy and other sub-genres are fine, but make sure you stick with similar tropes (names with strange punctuation are transcendent, for example).

Also, a couple more tips for your (bad) writing:

Insert completely unnecessarily large words into otherwise easily read passages. For example: The dog ran very fast. He was racing another dog. They reached the finish line at the same time. The adjudicator of the race queried ostentatiously, "Who won the race?"

Use the word "inexplicable" often. While in real life many things are without explanation, readers expect that things will be explained in their reading. Thus, it is productive to completely ignore that expectation. They had been outnumbered thirty-thousand to one, but they had inexplicably won the battle with nary a loss. This is especially useful when you yourself have no idea how something happened in your story, and it is extremely obnoxious. An especially common example is: She was inexplicably drawn to him (Or the other way around).

It's great to describe the way somebody is saying something, but it's even better to describe it wrong. "I hate your outfit. It makes me want to vomit, and every time I see it on you I want to push you off a cliff," she complimented kindly, or "I wish you never had to leave me and we could stay like this forever," she said spitefully.
